Someday it will end as well, and most will stray away with nothing new to discuss, a ghost forum awaits

Maybe, maybe not. Can't know with Toriyama because if he wakes up one day in particularly Goku-loving mood he will relegate everyone else to the background instantly. Happened once, may as well happen again.kinisking wrote:This has me nervous. So, What else can they do to keep him out after this, besides pulling him forgetting his lesson yet again?
Probably Vegeta and Goku will travel to another universe. Apart from that it will probably just be another case of character assassination.
I wouldn't be so quick to assume to know what fans want.Basaku wrote:Maybe, maybe not. Toei on the other hand probably thinks of it more strategically and fully realizes at this stage that the show's phenomenon ain't based solely on Goku and that fans want large cast of relevant fighters so they may be pulling the strings to steer the developement of the series new stories into broader direction that ain't dependant so much on 1 character.
Seeing how Super changes and how it's literally taking fan memes and implementing them into the show, I say the current developement is a reflection of what Toei sees the fans asking for and it ain't a neverending Goku-only fanserviceSimere wrote: I wouldn't be so quick to assume to know what fans want.
You seriously need to stop with this, Vegeta is a known quantity and has seen consistent character development through the series, they don't need to spend significant amounts of time on him before the tournament, they are instead focusing on those who haven't had as much development.Chuquita wrote:Gohan's safe. It'd take a lot to shake my faith in Gohan departing from the main cast now.
Gokû and Vegeta's joint adventures are over unless the manga tells a wildly different version of this story.
Why do you keep assuming Vegeta is being replaced? Does he need to be attached to Gokus hip 24/7 or the fans will assume he is gone forever? The series just want's to focus on the other character involved in the arc at these moments. Wouldn't help if Vegeta is taking up half the screen time like he always does when he is around. Until Someone or the character himself says he is retired, I think it's pretty safe to assume that he isn't going anywhere.Chuquita wrote:Gohan's safe. He's not going anywhere. Unless they fully retcon that part of End of Z, he will need to part ways with Goku for at least a couple years before the world tournament. Unless they handle that during a time skip, which I could see. Vegeta is practically the deuteragonist in Super.ArchedThunder wrote: You seriously need to stop with this, Vegeta is a known quantity and has seen consistent character development through the series, they don't need to spend significant amounts of time on him before the tournament, they are instead focusing on those who haven't had as much development.
Vegeta isn't going anywhere. Vegeta has developed into someone who loves his family and his wife just had a baby, the use of him so far this arc makes perfect sense.
Any comments about characters not having seen each other for a long time at the end of Z should probably be ignored at this point. They can keep a "Long time no see" feel by retconning 5 years to a few months.BlueBasilisk wrote: Unless they fully retcon that part of End of Z, he will need to part ways with Goku for at least a couple years before the world tournament. I'm perfectly fine with a change like that. It always left a sour taste in my mouth that Goku hadn't seen his friends for years and then disappeared on them again immediately.ArchedThunder wrote:Any comments about characters not having seen each other for a long time at the end of Z should probably be ignored at this point. I also wouldn't be surprised if Goku sees his friends again not long after leaving with Uub.BlueBasilisk wrote: I'm perfectly fine with a change like that. It always left a sour taste in my mouth that Goku hadn't seen his friends for years and then disappeared on them again immediately.
He isnt replacing Vegeta, he will be back once the ToP starts, as the ED points out, the Main Cast is basically Goku, Gohan and Vegeta aka DBS Monster Trio, the arc needed someone to replace Vegeta as part of the main cast and that was Gohan, he has gotten the most focus in this arc, even more than Goku.Chuquita wrote:Gohan's safe. Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.

Tien fans are dying as we speak from lack of respect, Krillin fan's stuck oil, and 17 fans are coming back from a long leave of absence with gold in their hands. It amazing that all these characters have such strong fan bases even after all the abuse. You are either ride or die or you're a fake fan. I'm fake I was about abandon Piccolo , but 88 brought me back. One day I might be a real boy too. A lot of these fans had to become delusional to keep their faith though. It's hard times we live in.
Eh, I mean Kuririn atleast got some actual decent showings, even made Goku transform. Tenshinhan on the other hand got treated like complete fodder for two episodes in a row, they didn't even let the guy land anything.GodKaio-Ken wrote:
Why would you be surprised the guy who was never that strong still isnt that strong? Krillin wasn't overly impressive either...at the end of the day he is still just scrappy little Krillin.
