I finished the game with Vegeta yesterday.
At the moment I'm stuck in the Piccolo stage with Cell/#17/Cell. Man, what a heavy thing.
I don't regret that I bought the Japanese version. I know all of the relevant things for the gameplay. It's not very deep and most of the actions, options as well as the Kanji are very self-explanatory. Anyways, I had no problems with the language "barrier". After 2 - 3 days I got it all.
I love the game. Sure, there are some bad points, such as the very few and stiff animations, repetetive missions and enemies. Also, sometimes the music is a little bit annoying although it's well composed.
Like I said, the gameplay actually isn't very deep and it's not a real trading card game. Also the adventure elements are very few. The game concentrates on the card battle system / the fights itself with a mix of a few board game and RPG elements. It's not a real RPG (or adventure), not a real trading card game and not a real board game. I would say the game took all good and simple elements from all of those genres and mixed it.
Okay, that was my impression after two months playing.^^
