It's also possible that he only has access to the part of the storyboard he's drawing for. He's not a regular and he doesn't really do long cuts, so that seems likely enough.

I'm just going to guess that they gave him a storyboard and didn't really give him the context of the scene, just told him how long he had to finish it.
Or he's just playing dumb because he's not allowed to specify what exactly he's working on.
I guess it could also be a situation of "Here's some character designs, these people have to win, do what you want."

Episode 90 wasn't finished, even two days before it airs according to Tu. That's why we didn't had these images.
Episode 91 tho, is supervised by Yashima, so no production problems here.

They'd still have images they could release. The episode not being finished doesn't mean there weren't finished parts of the episode that they could release images of, especially on the night before the episode.

That "episode 90 was rushed" talk could have some misunderstanding.
The episode has a lot of action and overall didn't look rushed to me. Is this how "rushed episodes" will look now?! We've come a long way then.

Those images from tonight's episode look awesome, except for some details (like Bergamo's chest and Hit's head like some already noticed). So much stuff happening right now in DBS, with so many characters and places, it feels like Game or Thrones or something, lol. It's so good to have the opportunity to see so many different styles and art directions from now on.

I discontinued the 'Notable Cuts' section a little while ago with the intention of inserting a direct link to Sakugabooru. I just never got around to it. Thanks for reminding me! I've now actually gone ahead with the update.

It certainly doesn't look like Ohara's work, and some of the timing does look reminiscent of Shida, so I'd say thats a safe bet.

It could also mean the tournament of power is getting interrupted like some of us were speculating.

The average quality of episodes has increased by quite a bit - I don't think we've truly had a single bad episode in the sense that it was actively uncomfortable to watch. That's a pretty big contrast to the previous arcs that featured several episodes of poor quality.

I'd argue that's come at the cost of creative action to a degree, but it's hard to really say that with any confidence as we haven't actually reached the 'meat' of the arc: the tournament. I guess we'll see.
