Freeza's Human Henchmen?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Freeza's Human Henchmen?

Post by Bomber Greek » Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:10 pm

I've noticed that a lot of Freeza's henchmen appear human. Do you think they are humans, or do you think that they are an alien race that look like humans? Also, is Recoome a human? He looks like one, but he is extremely strong for one.

Unless it's the humans not just living on Earth thing, they're aliens who just happen to look like humans.

I sincerely doubt any of them are human. Saiyans look human too, without their tails. Other alien species may look similar as well.

Though humans, Saiyans, and the various other human-like aliens might all have a common ancestor (ever see that old sci-fi movie Quatermass and the Pit?).

The human-like henchmen always have elf-like ears, so I guess that's what makes them not human.

There's also the whole 'creatures will develop similarly in simlar systems even if said systems have no interaction with each other' model (I.E, seacreatures on Europa could be expected to resemble seacreatures of Earth, with slight differences to compensate for like, temperature and gravity and stuff). So human-like races in Freeza's empire aren't too far-fetched?
*wonders if it's possible that said race ever mixed with saiyans so that there's some random half-saiyan out there waiting to appear in a fanfic that somehow leads to coming to earth and using the name Kakkarot a lot*

They are not humans, they just look like humans.
If they were human then the Z Fighters would have know about Frieza much earlier. Since he would of came to Earth during Dragonball and he would killed Goku once he met him, since he is a Saiyan.
Gluttony is the tastiest sin.

They just look simialr that's all. Different races, and species can look the same. Let's just say this applies when it comes to things looking the same from planet to planet, who can be sure eh?

There's something called convergent or parallel evolution.

Ah, that's what it's called. ^^ makes lots of special effects in Sci Fi easier, yes?
And, well, it seems a likely explanation.

That explanation works, after all Saiyans look pretty human and are able to interbreed. :D

With fertile offspring, no less. Now that's remarkably similar. Practically the same species.

Oh wait, that's science. Gotta keep that out of here. Remember, people, if science and Dragon Ball ever actually touch, the universe would collapse on itself.

I actually wrote a paper on Dragon Ball biology for a college bio class. Got a 92 out of 95 on it.

That pretty much means they are the same species.

I like mixing science and DB.. really, i do.

Wolves (Canis lupus) and coyotes (Canis latrans) aren't quite the same genetically - yet they are able to interbreed with eachother,, as well as with domestic dogs, and produce fertile offspring. i think that maybe the case with the relationship between saiya-jins and humans - not quite the same species but close enough.

Saiya-jins and humans would also have the same number of chromosomes..

Again, I believe Saiyans are also called "humans" ("ningen"), in the series.
Some Earthlings ("Chikyûjin") aren't human, and some humans aren't Earthlings...

You do realize I want to read this now....? :P :D :D

I was thinking Donkeys/horses for interbreeding, and then I remembered their offspring aren't usually fertile... so the Wolves/Coyotes example wins.

It might take me a while to hunt down a copy, but as soon as I get it I'll make it available.
