Jin Inaba, and Nikudo (forgot) are probably at the tournament.
Maybe Ken Otsuka, and Hideki Yamazaki will join too?
I don't know about Yuya Takahasi, Yuki Hayashi, Koudai Watanabe.

And probably some talented animators from Nagamine's connection or whatever freelancer.

I'm not surprised about the news concerning the big fight being problematic, there was no way they were going to make it work, not with that many people fighting simultaneously.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

And I thought I was being cynical. It's not over yet
Now we just sit through possibly months of inconsistent at best episodes to have our fears confirmed.

Masaki Sato's constant tweets with the DB character drawings included makes me wish he had accepted the role as an animation supervisor for Dragon Ball Super. He'd make for a great director than Kitano with his artistic abilities. But with Yamamuro at the helm Sato wouldn't want to work on the series, which is darn shame. His work as an animator in Dragon Ball Z was a sight to behold, especially the fight between Trunks and Perfect Cell. After all these years of not drawing Dragon Ball, he still hasn't forgotten how to draw one.

I've encouraged Sato to come back again, and hopefully one day he will with one time special guest, like Iseki did. A few more encouragement from you guys will hopefully help him feel more motivated to come back, especially with the legendary series director Nagamine in the control.

My fears were confirmed about Super's everything back in the single digit episodes.

Who is Iseki? And what part of Super did he animate?

I too would like Masaki Sato to return to Dragon Ball, I've seen his work on the serie and it was awesome! Is he still working in the industry?
Also, about Nakatsuru: is there a chance he might return to Super? He was in the staff list for episode 1 but hasn't been seen ever since that episode, I wonder why.

Iseki was the animation supervisor for Episode #16. It was only one time thing.

Thanks, I didn't think you were referring to him. Episode 16 is one of my favorite episodes of Super, I would love to see Iseki back. I thought he was just a free lancer though, did he work on other Dragon Ball series before?

He's a star freelancer web animator. Former series director Chioaka recruiting him would probably be the best guess as the reason why he appeared for the first time in the series. He's never worked on a Dragon Ball project before that, as far as I know.

You have no idea how much I fanboy over his DB work. Every DB drawing he tweets is a gem to be treasured.

Unfortunately I don't see it happening. He was kind enough to accept being interviewed by a fan and he said Super doesn't feel like the DB he worked back then. It's something different, new, and he doesn't think he has anything to offer now.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Doesn't mean he won't work. Only one time guest should be sufficient. If enough fans encourage him, he will at least think about it.

I don't think it'll do any good to pester Sato about working on Super. He gets that enough on just about every drawing he posts, I'm sure.

If he's annoyed by it, he wouldn't post any more Dragon Ball stuff on Twitter.

He's just as much a fan of it as we are. Keep in mind that he has fans behind him. He kept posting drawn Dragon Ball characters. If they like his work, then a positive motivation to have him be an animation supervisor for even one episode is just fine.

Couple of screenshots from Moca News' blog post went up.

Most interesting thing is Yamamuro's character sheet for Kale:

Kale looks like such a boring character in contrast to Caulifla.
Every time I see DB character designs without the stupid highlights in character's bodies I tear up. I hope one day they get rid of that for good.

So she was always supposed to have different eyes than caulifla. I'm surprised by the eye choice though. It's pretty unique by Dragonball standards.

I have pretty much no issues with it other than the slightly bulging head in the full body shot.

It's a nice, simple, animation-friendly design, with close-ups that have characterising expression.

Can't ask for a whole lot more, really.
