But SSJ2 for Gohan was a culmination of his past rage boosts. Would you refuse to believe it didn't manifest into him reaching that power? DBZ drove that point home vs. Cell.
If something isn't stated or at least heavily implied in the source material and you have to rationalized it in your own way, then it falls under either headcanon or fanon. Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 was from rage and it was explicitly called such in the manga in all source material. The manga didn't make me guess that was the case.

As I said, fanon or headcanon is fine, but don't pretend the source material told you something when it didn't. Like Goten and Trunks getting Super Saiyan easily because their fathers were Super Saiyan. A popular fan theory that was never implied in the manga.

Nothing in the movie or manga suggested that he kept the power since all rage boosts in the series have been temporary. If Vegeta kept the power of that particular rage boost, the manga should have said so. It didn't.
No man. Toyotaro doesn't have to correct your headcanons. Nothing indicated he had a temporary boost, you just assumed it. It was fine for a while, but if happens that new events debunk your unproven theory, just drop it, it's not the end of the world. Vegeta kept his SS2 boost against Beerus and nothing contradicts this in any way.

It has never been stated anything about how rage boosts work, you just assume they are temporary as a general rule, it's your headcanon, conveniently leaving out the ones that produced transformations, just because they don't make your point.

Didn't need to state Vegeta kept his boost cause it showed it when Vegeta SSJ2 was moping the floor with Black who is stronger than Goku's SSJ3.

Nope! They didn't say it. That means Vegeta doing so well against Black is also a plothole! Logical inductive reasoning isn't allowed. Putting 2 and 2 together is silly and off limits. It needs to be explicitly spelled out to the reader through clunky exposition and completely inorganic and irrelevant-to-the-actual-story strength-related statements. If Toriyama was unintentionally consistent with some pedantic in-universe minutia, it is now binding in the series' mythos, and stories are not allowed to break away from these accidental trends.

Right, so it was too much to asked from Toyo to state that Vegeta kept the rage boost and we should just assumed he did because that is the only way to explained Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta beating up Super Saiyan 1/2 Black. You know, Trunks or Goku couldn't be bother to say this, but they had time to wonder why Black was getting beating up and he should be stronger than what he was showing.

And I would call BS if this was Toriyama doing this.

Still can't find that page where it was said that Vegeta kept the power of that rage boost, can you?

If all rage boost in the series have been temporary, why should I assumed that Vegeta's boost against Beerus was any different? Sorry, it is BS and I stand by that until Toyo decides to be a good storyteller and tell his audience that Vegeta has a mutated Super Saiyan 2 that surpassed Trunks instead of people trying pushed the "Vegeta kept his rage boost" explanation down my throat to explain what happened in the first Vegeta vs. Black fight.

There is no such page, never said there was. But I'm not gonna assume it was temporary just to pretend there is a problem in the manga with nothing to support it like you do. Now, Vegeta fighting against Black like he did, that's it man, there's the prove, we don't need someone stating it, we saw it. You say it was temporary, you prove it.

Look, considering your theory that it was only temporary against Beerus, that wouldn't be a problem either, it would only mean he got it later, like training as we know he did twice for long periods, because that is what we saw against Black. But, again, this is just a hypothetical scenario, because nothing indicates it was temporary at all, nothing. It's just your headcanon.

Nothing has been said about rage boosts ever, that's just your headcanon and it's not valid as evidence. The manga is totally fine about this.

There is zero reason to tell what can be clearly shown. And it was pretty clearly shown. Vegeta got stupid powerful in a form. Later, he was once again stupid powerful in said form. How on the nose do you honestly need a story to be?

You know, Bulma and Vegeta have two kids together, but how do we know that they had sex? Was it too much for Toriyama to state that Vegeta and Bulma had sex?

Yes there is since there is no reason to assumed that Vegeta kept the rage boost he got when Beerus slapped Bulma. Toyo is willing to explain several aspects in his manga, some times to the point of repeating himself. Although I do some times get annoyed where he points out something obvious, I do like that he does try to explain stuff while the anime tends to leave stuff vague like how exactly did Black's power-ups work. Even if his explanations at times make little sense, Mastered Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan.

Yet, he couldn't bother to tell us that Vegeta kept the power of his rage boost, but instead have Goku and Trunks wondering why Black was getting beating up. Yet, I have all these posters tell me that I should just take it as fact that Vegeta's Super Saiyan 2 is super strong from his rage boost when no other rage boost in the series worked that way outside of Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 which were explicitly new forms. So at this moment, Vegeta's rage boost and mutated Super Saiyan is at best fanon. Plausible, but the manga never stated it to be such, like Goten and Trunks getting Super Saiyan easily because their fathers were Super Saiyan.

Which is a big problem. And why should I assumed it wasn't temporary since all rage boosts outside of a new form like Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and even Super Saiyan Rage were anger triggers. Only the anime gave any hints of the rage boost being possibly forever since they called it a mutation and they called Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan a mutation of Super Saiyan God. In the movie and manga, it's presented as a standard rage boost. So I don't see how "assume it was temporary" is a theory when it's a theory to assumed he kept the power since the manga, anime, nor the movie claimed that he did.

Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta vs. Super Saiyan 1/2 Black isn't evidence of a Vegeta having a mutated Super Saiyan form so much as questionable scaling since Toyo never bother to present the Super Saiyan form as an upgrade like he did with Super Saiyan 2 Trunks. I also find it amusing that asking for just a line is just too much and we should go with the assumption that he kept the power and anything else is a theory or 'headcanon'.

As things stand, it is your and other headcanon and fanon that Vegeta kept the power of his rage boost that mutated his Super Saiyan 2 to the point that he can willingly call upon the power he used to fight Beerus. Which is nice, but not lets pretend the manga said this was the case.

There is no statement about the temporal condition of the boost, you just assume it was temporary because you want. Neither any clear information about any other rage boost ever, you just make assumptions about them too. The only conflict here is with your headcanon and not even that.

It's ridiculous to think that Vegeta should have said something like: 'Hey, I got a permanent boost that time against Beerus'.

No man, it is shown. It's a visual medium, it's not a book, ilustrations speak for themselves.

I looked at the history of how rage boost acted until that point and Toyo gave me no reason to believe otherwise. It is as simple as that. We got explanation about every form in the manga, but Toyo couldn't bother to give a line that Vegeta has a mutated Super Saiyan 2 that he kept from fighting Beerus. That is just bad storytelling. If you can't understand it at this point despite me explain it in detail several times, then we're done. Believe whatever you want.

You look whatever you want, nothing has ever been said about the nature of the rage boosts, so any conclusion is headcanon. You just pick the one that may cause any problems about this. I said may, but not really, there is no problem like that either.

Fact one, Vegeta had a rage boost and showed a huge power against Beerus in SS2. Fact two, Vegeta shows that same power in SS2 against Black. There is no problem with this, just with your headcanon and not even that.

Is this SSJ2 Vegeta debate still going on? Goodness gracious. Can we just move on from this? I may have my issues with this, but it's not worth going into such a lengthy debate. Vegeta uses a powerful SSJ2 form to beat around SSJ Goku Black. That's it. No ifs, no buts, that's the case. There are other aspects of the story in the manga that can be talked about, ya know.

My only statement was that Vegeta having a super powerful Super Saiyan 2 is fanon since the manga didn't state it as such. Then I got several posters telling me that I am using headcanon for not believing that Vegeta kept his rage boost since that has never happened before in the series. I even said it was plausible, but it's bad story writing on Toyo's part for not having any character make a simple statement that is only a line.

Why is writing my problems with the Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta vs. Super Saiyan 1/2 Black "desperate for something to complain about"? Why should I just assumed Vegeta kept the rage boost from several arcs ago when the manga never claimed he had, rage boosts never worked that way, and no character within the manga even acknowledge this mutated Super Saiyan form? All I have gotten in this tread is "you should just accept that Vegeta kept his rage boost and Toyo doesn't need to tell us because it's 'obvious'".

And the most baffling of all, I never said it was wrong to think that maybe Vegeta kept the rage boost and got a mutated Super Saiyan 2. My problem is that manga never said it was the case and the Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta vs. Super Saiyan 1/2 Black comes off as horrible scaling and saying it was a mutated Super Saiyan 2 feels like reaching since the manga claimed that Vegeta's Super Saiyan 2 was superpower. Which apparently is an insult on this thread and I must have an agenda against the manga, so I am using headcanon to discredit Toyo or something.

Quoting because it was reading this that reminded me how much I love how the battle between Vegeta and Cabba was drawn; it's honestly one of my favorite battles in the entire franchise. Looking back over those panels gives me the visualization that Cabba is going at it with 100% power and speed from the very start, using his best techniques and not holding anything back; it all feels/looks so dynamic and face-paced, even for a Dragon Ball battle. I only wish it had lasted longer.

Been skipping over all of it, hoping some actual news comes up. So that's what it feels like to be on the other side. It's apathy at most, mildly annoying at worst.

False. Vegeta's SSJ2 > Goku's SSJ3 is not a "connecting the dots" scenario.
It is an already established truth in the story.
