I see, that's unfortunate indeed. Thanks for the reply.Ajay wrote:There's a page with Sorbet on his knees that's supposed to read, "I was skipped!", referring to the manga's lack of a Resurrection F arc. Again, that confirm that Toyotaro is the perfect continuity of the original Manga of Akira Toriyama. Pretty interesting.

It's quite obvious they market it as the continuation of Toriyama's manga.ShinTenshin wrote:Again, that confirm that Toyotaro is the perfect continuity of the original Manga of Akira Toriyama. Pretty interesting.

This is a cute little commercial using the iconography of the series' spine art and it really doesn't need to be the basis for the umpteenth pedantic canonicity argument to take place on this site.ShinTenshin wrote:Again, that confirm that Toyotaro is the perfect continuity of the original Manga of Akira Toriyama. Of course it is. He also said he is the author of the DBS manga, as the sequel to DB. It's the same medium, why wouldn't he follow it.ShinTenshin wrote:Again, that confirm that Toyotaro is the perfect continuity of the original Manga of Akira Toriyama. Pretty interesting.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
One thing I hate about the end of this arc is that there's no tension. Zamasu is just letting the heroes switch in and out, not rushing to kill them, standing around letting them talk, constantly getting overpowered. Goku's still treating it like a game instead of a life or death situation.

Volume 2 of Super sold 252,000 copies.
From the looks of the first week sales the second volume sold a lot better than the first volume.

Wow. Those sales really indicate where most fans were interested with regards to the story. I can only imagine sales will increase with Volume 3. Great numbers all around and Toyotaro should be very proud of himself for creating such an well crafted alternative story from Toriyama's initial vision of Super's narrativeBullza wrote:Just for anyone else who is interested.

We're not sure in total. The first Volume sold 30,361 in the first week, but then it didn't appear on the Oricon the following weeks. My guess is that the they were understocked with copies available, as the manga had sold far more than expected, and once there were more copies to buy, the amount of copies sold for first volume of the manga were not high enough to chart on the weekly top 50 best selling manga volumes in Japan.emperior wrote:How much did volume 1 sell?

My thoughts exactly. Super has no connection with the original manga, but you can just easy enjoy the series anyway.Cipher wrote:This is a cute little commercial using the iconography of the series' spine art and it really doesn't need to be the basis for the umpteenth pedantic canonicity argument to take place on this site.

Last time I checked it hadn't reached the 200k barrier, so this was a good surprise.Bullza wrote:Just for anyone else who is interested.

I hope the third one cracks the 300k barrier. Considering it's the DBS arc most loved by the majority and the page count increased it's possible.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Probably the best way to look at Super is that the anime is a continuation of the anime shows minus GT, though Kai more so, especially after taking out that retained Hell scene in TFC, seeing as things like Gregory are canon within it and some of the expanded characterizations being canon welded into the show with the filler/in-between-arc episodes they have, though Toei's flanderization of Goku's more selfish aspects to near TFS levels is a point of contention, whereas the manga is better-fitting with the original manga.ShinTenshin wrote:Again, that confirm that Toyotaro is the perfect continuity of the original Manga of Akira Toriyama. Speaking of the anime, anyone else wish Toei would do a mini-series to adapt Jaco's story from the manga? They could even do it as a bit of filler in the future if they wanted. Call it the "Arc of Jaco," or whatever.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Most of those are Toriyama edits. Toyo's Zamasu didn't have enough hair so Tori fixed it for him. Toriyama also drew a couple of panels and made some edits to Shin's and Zamasu's personalities.
Lol again, seems like a lot of the criticism people give Toyo about the story should be directed towards Tori as well

It's actually Gosenzo-sama and it's another way of addressing Elder Kaioshin. It means something like "Ancestor".HECTOR4 wrote:From Dragon Ball Super Vol. 3:

Zamasu probably wished to be the strongest person of the Universe or have the body of the winner of Champa's tournament. He became Monaka. Genius!HECTOR4 wrote:

That Monaka gag is delightfully not positioned as a what-if, but, like all of Toyotaro's interstitial drawings, something that could conceivably have happened between chapters.
"O-oh no! He's completely weak, isn't he?!
Sure enough, I'll have to switch with Goku like I planned."
Guess he used the Time Ring two or three times to fix that one.

Zamasu asked for Monaka's body since Beerus kept calling him the strongest lmao. Goku was his 2nd choice
