But that's the thing, there were so many cut aways to save time and give the manga breathing room. That's no longer the case and they have no reason to do anything of the sort. Universe 6 didn't have a B plot. Future Trunks didn't have a B plot to cut away to. There really isn't any reason to think that the Universe Survival Arc will be any different. Otherwise there would be no need to drag out the events before the actual tournament. The closest you'll get to padding from the tournament it's self is dragging out certain fights or dialogue during.

I didn't go back enough in the posts then I guess. You know, a lot of people say "know" even if they don't know for sure. There's no way to know if they know when they know so the same goes for the characters.
