I liked him as a character until it was proven that he was garbage, because, you know, he lost with old man Roshi and as you said if Tenshinhan is so much stronger than Roshi like he should be that attack shouldn't work.
It's not an euphemism, it's totally fine the wording I used. Like trash is what you use because you don't like him and you want to make him look worse.

That's not how it works, weaker characters can inflict damage with good techniques to stronger ones. That is a good card Roshi keeps in his sleeve, but doesn't mean he is stronger, couldn't be with their history. The writer just said something it's common sense. Tenshinhan was perfectly fine in seconds, not a single scratch. I think he could have gotten out of that and crunch the old man.

I think the writers overdid all about Roshi to make him look good, because everyone was questioning him being in the team, with fair reasons.

And do you really need to use words like garbage? It's fine you don't like him, but that doesn't make him garbage. I like him a lot since always.

Tenshinhan wasn't treated well, but he is not garbage. You don't like him, ok, that doesn't make him garbage. What happens is that it hurt you being proven wrong, as you have been saying Roshi is stronger, but he is not.

Using a technique effectively against someone doesn't make him automatically stronger. No way Roshi surpassed Tenshinhan, who was already stronger than him in the early DB. Time only made the distance bigger. Looks like Roshi got stronger too, he could handle a dozen of Freeza's soldiers, but Ten was better then too.

This is not as bad as saying Satan is stronger than Yamcha, but it's close. It's ignoring all DB and DB Z, it makes no sense.

During early Dragon ball Tenshinhan was a genius, but, at least for me, he was exposed in db super when he lost with Roshi. That's my opinion.
You say he could have beaten Roshi, but he was in the ground out of breath and Goku had to save him from a kamehameha, and Tenshinhan said Goku you saved me.

What he says is his opinion not facts, the ''I think'' and ''I realize'' are there for a reason instead of him stating facts, its his opinion on how he saw the episode.
Unless people wants to discard Tien's comment after Roshi sent him flying as ''as expected of Master Roshi'' and Goku's comment... well ok lets not take Goku's word for it too much, he's been a little too loose when it comes to comments.

Let's see, I'm gonna try to get to your position as much as I can. We don't really know what would have happened without Goku stopping the fight. Maybe Ten would have gone unconscious and loose, who knows. Although he didn't look very harmed for that, he looked as new.

Maybe Roshi's technique is that powerful, I'm not exactly sure how it works. If I recall fine, Goku only got out of it because he turned into the ape, Roshi was going to win the final with that.

But that is not enough to say he is stronger, considering what we know about the characters and what the writer has said as a bonus. Piccolo killed Raditz with the Makankosapo, he wasn't stronger. Guldo really won against Krilin and Gohan at the same time, he wasn't stronger. If Krilin had chopped Freeza's head with the Kiezan, he wold have won. Krilin against Gohan recently. And so on.

Ten trained with Kaio and didn't get weaker since then, because he hasn't stopped training. Roshi may have trained in secret for a while, but what is that comparing to Ten's history in Z. Not much, he doesn't even fly.

By the way, I'm very curious about Roshi in Karin's tower next episode.

The issue is that Ten is not getting any attention while Kuririn and Roshi have been treated very well. What does that tell you?

Tells me that it's Ten's turn to be raked across hot coals, like Kuririn got during the Z period thanks to Toei's films and Yamcha has gotten since Super. Tenshinhan was always treated respectably during Z despite not being worlds apart from either of his fellow strongest human z fighters. That difference in treatment always struck me as odd.

It doesn't tell me Roshi is stronger, that I can say.

For Roshi there are reasons, they needed to make him look good because he was the one most questioned in the team, with good reasons. Krilin is loved by Toei and fans, he's always there somehow. I like him too, by the way. Ten got an episode for him, but I'm not gonna lie to you, I didn't like how they wrote him at all. But this thread is about power levels, not about attention.

Just thought I'd link to let you know you're fighting an uphill battle trying to reason with this guy.

He completely ignores the facts presented about the specific attack Roshi used, shifts the goalpost and just repeats Himself. Judging from his comments here that hasnt changed

Except the terms "think" and "realize" are not synonymous, and the latter involved a much more concrete statement about the effects of Yurin's magic

Just look at how that particular person phrased their question. They don't actually care about the thoughts of the writer, they just want to direct their rage about the portrayal of character's strength at someone. Their response to Yoshikata's reply is dripping with condescension.

He's already had to block people over the Goku vs #17 fight. Some of the tweets directed at him have been disgusting.
People were seriously blaming him and taking their fanboy anger on him ? really ? lol i'm happy he blocked their asses though.

Facts are always hard to swallow for extremists that live in a bubble. You are the one repeating yourself not me.

You are wasting your time with this guy, he is capable of everything to deny that Tenshinhan simply was defeated by an ultra weakling like Roshi that is old and never received any advanced training like Ten.

The writers don't deserve to be antagonized on social media just because they're failing to do something that people outside of the target audience are deluded into thinking that they're actually obligated to do.

They fucked up your precious power scale. Big deal. Get over it. They don't care about your opinions. They have no obligation to. You guys should be damn thankful this man even had the goodwill to dignify this crap with a reply. Having an existential crisis because a group of people didn't write, storyboard, and choreograph an episode in a way that allows you to extract feats using the same system of interpretation developed over the course of 2 decades for a manga written and drawn by a different person 20 years ago, for the explicit purpose of placing characters on a scale relative to one another, doesn't mean that they are under any obligation to have to hear your gripes. This isn't well-placed criticism. This is a horrible misunderstanding of what the show is, why it exists, and what it's meaning to do.

Goodness, they wrote idiotic drivel in a children's cartoon meant to advertise toys!? Again!? For the ninetieth episode in a row!? Somebody stop the presses! We have to voice our concern over these Super important issues!

He has literally 0 personality to him...why would anyone like him for any reason aside from strength seems like a more legitimate question.

Of course people can like whoever they want...I just dont see why they act surprised others dont share that feeling as strongly.

This is an absolutely ridiculous response. Of course people are entitled to their opinions, and to express them in an interesting way, even if that means they disagree with them and have extensive criticism.

However, no-one deserves personal attacks of that caliber over some strength stuff in a Saturday morning children's cartoon.

Good on him for not tolerating it. Likewise, we're not going to tolerate it here. If you have something worth saying/analyzing/criticizing, we would hope you have the capacity to express it well. If you don't? Well, it probably wasn't worth saying in the first place, and Kanzenshuu isn't the place for you.
