Lol, dang, now I know that kind of thing, thanks for the reply,
btw do you know who made this shot? It's an Ide correction?
Like someone said some pages ago, this gives me a Maeda era vibes.

It's an Ide correction, yeah. I guessed that the original key animation was probably Nashizawa's work since he's the only KA in that half that we know of who uses indented cheek shading. It's too heavily corrected to know for sure, sadly.

Some of the stuff in the NEP for 96 looks a lot like Kitano.
I guess he could be supervising one of the episodes and animating on the other since there's been such a big gap since his last episode.
This could be the case. I think Kitano will do some KA in #96 and Supervision work in #97.
Sup everyone, if it isn't much of a bother if I go all the way back to the Revelious Zamasu arc, could someone help me out in guessing who are the animators who blessed us with these amazing shots of Ep 49?

I didn't see anyone mentioning about these before so I was left with no clue on who animated this amazing sparring match between Goku & Trunks. If you allow me to do a quick guess with my minus 100% reliable experience in animator styles, I'd say this was outsourced, but I could be totally wrong!
Edit: I also read that this episode was supervised by Seizo Toma and Yoichi Onishi, but seeying how Toma left way too early for me to see more of his uncorrected work, i'm not too sure about the similarities.

The fight between Goku and Trunks was animated for Kenji Kuroyonagi, great animator of Toei

Oh I see, thanks for clearing it out! He has a very enjoyable and unique style drawing characters, he reminds me of a post-cell saga style if I were to say, I also love the way he draws the hair of Goku, a perfect combination between roundness and blockyness!

Yeah, really hope Kenji returns to the show, though his Goku vs Trunks fight wasn't bad, it was nowhere near the level of output he usually puts out.

Hopefully, during the tournament, Super is able to snag him for a scene, though I don't think it's likely with that new One Piece special coming out.
There's any shot of Itai with the same shading on 88? because since he was paired with Nii on 82, I think he just adapted that shading. I still don't know lol, sorry for being a bother
Everyone does it:
Everyone but Shimanuki who still uses classic DBZ cheek shading

Wait, is he saying he just hasn't been given an offer from Toei and that he would work on the show again?
Yes, he's saying Toei hasnt offered him anything yet, if a chance pops in he'll do his best.
Well there goes my hopes of Yuya popping in the tournament.... (if that message is legit)

Just knowing that he's willing to work on the show again is nice.
I'm still fairly confident that some surprise animators are going to show up in the tournament, Shida showing up before the tournament only made me feel more confident in that.
Who knows, maybe we'll see Yuya Takahashi before the year is up, this arc is probably going to be really long and I'm guessing the climax will be in October or early November.
I'm very interested to see how the first few tournament episodes shape up, I'm guessing that the better animators will show up later in the tournament, but maybe the first few episodes will have some surprisingly good stuff.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
