Where are those people who were saying Jiren wasn't "The" guy?
He looks like he has lots of build up.

No, it means there's no advantage for anyone, because everyone is used to their own gravity. No chance of there being a fighter who can't handle the gravity and thus can't fight or of there being a fighter who is so much faster than the others because he's used to higher gravity.incarnati0n wrote:Seems like the gravity for each fighter is the same as their birth planet. Re: Jiren
Build up means nothing to me if the character's personality isn't interesting. Jiren feels like a more boring version of Hit to me right now. I'm willing to wait until his personality surfaces, but right now he's got nothing for me.

Universe Survival saga was announced in December 14, 2016, and now, on June 24th (technically June 25th), it has finally started! That was a long ride!

There is advantage, Gohan has an advantage over Goku and Vegeta because they have higher gravity than Gohan because Gohan was born on Earth even if all three of them are essentialy saiyans. Even if Vegeta and Goku are used to training in higher gravity that doesn't mean that it isn't a disadvantage.Doctor. wrote:No, it means there's no advantage for anyone, because everyone is used to their own gravity. So Jiren is the Hit, who was the Pikkon, this time.
Seriously, none of these characters are unique, but you can't help but like them due to that air of mystery that surrounds them until they inevitably showcase their power.

There is no advantage. A fighter born on a planet with 10x gravity will treat it as natural, they will fight just the same as a fighter born in 1G. It's when the fighter used to 10x gravity steps down to 1G or when the other fighter steps up to 10x that the difference is going to be felt. Whis said it was for the sake of fairness for a reason, so there's no advantage for anyone.incarnati0n wrote:There is advantage, Gohan has an advantage over Goku and Vegeta because they have higher gravity than Gohan because Gohan was born on Earth even if all three of them are essentialy saiyans. The mystery they are putting in Jiren is the same as Hitto.
Goku and Vegeta realizing that he is strong, being a mysterious guy, showing himself strong and skillful from the start ... this happened to both of them.
It seems to me that his personality is also the same.
It's like a new Hitto.
But I may be wrong and he shows up differently during the tournament

Wither Jiren is "that guy" or not doe not matter. What dose matter is that he's clearly unlike any other warrior in the tournament.
Toppo was powerful enough to tank SSB Goku's attacks with only his uniform ripping and getting a little scuffed up, he also was ready for round two with SSBKKx2 Goku. A guy like Toppo would ranks as any other universes best fighter....but he's second. And since power gaps in DB can be pretty big from fighter to fighter......Goku had better have a new form up his sleeve or Jiren is gonna murder him, metaphysically speaking.

It's still an advantage in the perpective of normally everyone fights in the same level of gravity. When Goku and Gohan fought on Earth they were on the same gravity, so with this set of rules Gohan has an advantage over someone like Goku because he sees his situation be improved from what normally is reality.Doctor. wrote: There is no advantage. Toriyama really went full power on the Universe 3 designs lol

Goku is literally the only person this would apply to and it still doesn't because he trained himself to withstand 100x gravity as if it were normal back in the Namek arc.incarnati0n wrote:It's still an advantage in the perpective of normally everyone fights in the same level of gravity. I don't know if this has been discussed (probably has), but will Hit have access to his powers in this tournament? Isn't the arena devoid of time or something?
If not, he's pretty much fodder since he can't kill either...
On a side, the Pride Troopers are honestly all uninteresting. Wouldn't it be awesome if they acted exactly like the Ginyu Force, only were good guys?

I mean, he's handicapped, but let's not pretend he doesn't have enough raw power to damage SSB.fadeddreams5 wrote:I don't know if this has been discussed (probably has), but will Hit have access to his powers in this tournament? Isn't the arena devoid of time or something?

I would like to remind everyone that while killing is not allowed.....they dont say anything about maiming being against the rules.
Maiming - To wound or injure (a person or animal) so that part of the body is permanently damaged.
