Complete BT3 Info and Discussion Thread [UPDATED 10/02/07]
Wait, Three Star Dragon (Wonder why this is in Chinese and not Japanese, or are they both the same?) is Four Star Dragon's alternative costume? I AM OUTRAGED! Well not really but I do hope that San Xing Long is in the game not as an alternate costume. Nice videos and the tournament mode seemed to be expanded.

For Super Saiya-jin 3, you'd be correct. When Goku ascends to this level against Baby, the tail does in fact become golden and spiky right along with the hair.fps_anth wrote:Doesn't Goku's tail turn gold when he transformes into SSJ in GT? Hopefully that's fixed for the final release.
For regular Super Saiya-jin, you'd be correct. When Goku transforms into SSJ against Super 17, the tail remains a plain brown.Hero 004 wrote:Actually, no, it stays brown. Although I was dissapointed by that, that would be cool if his tail transformed along with him.
The lesson here? Both of you are right, and GT is just so very wrong.
Also, on an additional note:
(I don't know if this has been mentioned already or not, but) Christopher Sabat has spilled in a recent interview that the "It's over 9,000!!" line will make an appearance in the game. He also mentions that while the script translation actually calls for an 8,000 (as Ryo Horikawa's line reads in the original version), he changed it to be 9,000 for the game's English release out of respect for the apparent phenomena.

Yeah, it is. It's the only form where the tail becomes golden besides the Golden Great Ape, but it changes nonetheless. If Xyex is let down by no one arm alternate skin, I guess we can chalk the no golden tail up with a numb-armed Mirai Gohan and Desert Bandit Yamcha skin with scars he hasn't even gotten yet. As for San Xing Long being an alternate for Suu Xing Long, if they can change the appearance of his attacks to look more ice-based than fire like Piccolo Daimao kinda had done with his Destructive Wave and Hellzone Grenade in Budokai 3, that'd be a pretty cool thing. Fact of the matter though, Spike is nowhere near as creative as Dimps tended to be. An ice dragon shooting fire...well, that'd certainly be something original. @.@;fps_anth wrote:Doesn't Goku's tail turn gold when he transformes into SSJ in GT? I'm disappointed Goku didn't turn into Golden Great Ape before ssj4kvon wrote:Humpski wrote:Here's a vid with a fight that shows all of GT Goku's transformations.

Only in the TV Special. In the manga, we don't know how he's lost his arm, and if he got the scars at the same time.Drunken Master wrote:Yeah, umm...he has the scar, so he should have one arm. It doesn't make sense, since he actually fights with one arm in the vids we've seen. He got the scar and his arm blown off in the same attack.

But he only ever did that once in the anime.sangofe wrote:I'm disappointed Goku didn't turn into Golden Great Ape before ssj4kvon wrote:Humpski wrote:Here's a vid with a fight that shows all of GT Goku's transformations.

Besides, I thought people hate the Oozaru's.
**EDIT**
Hey guys, look at this. Am i seeing things or is Nail completely destroyed at the end of this video? I don't think he fell to the ground. In the last game even after you had won the camera would follow your opponent's body even when the match was over, but Babidi is still looking up in the air.

I really hope so. If there's one thing I didn't like about the last game it was that you could hit a guy with say, a Genki Dama, and they would still be there laying on the ground after the attack.
I think you should be able to obliterate the opponent if you finish them with a big move.

I think I'm seeing the same thing. At the very end of the attack, while the smoke is clearing, it seems like Nail disappears. I second being able to totally destroy your enemy with huge attacks that way. It would make the finishes all that much sweeter. Especially with moves like, say.. Dirty Fireworks.Humpski wrote:Hey guys, look at this. Am i seeing things or is Nail completely destroyed at the end of this video? I don't think he fell to the ground. Well, we don't know yet, that is awesome if that is true. But what about in Team Battle, I got a feeling that we will see bodies again there. And Golden Oozaru, at least an alternate skin to the Oozaru. We didn't see enough Golden Oozaru to see the differences between the two. And Videl with pigtails ins awesome, now I want Adult Gohan in the Orange Star Uniform.

Too bad he's probably going to screw it up like he did in the dub. Also, on an additional note:

I'm gonna have to give this one to Brian Drummond. As for the mistranslation, Vegeta says "hassen" in the Japanese version. This is the number 8000. Why the dub changed it is beyond me. I mean, 8000 and 9000 have the same amount of syllables! What's the problem?

This was explained at a recent DBZ panel. Sabat intentionally altered the line to make it his own because he didn't want people to think he was trying to perfectly imitate the delivery of an apparently-famous dub line, so yeah . . . I'm going to give him credit for that one (despite my opinion that a Sabat-Vegeta nine THOUSAAAAAAAND!! would be kinda cool).fps_anth wrote:Too bad he's probably going to screw it up like he did in the dub.

I'm not sure. Things improved after everyone touched down on Namek, but most (if not all) of the Scouter figures stated during the dubbed Saiyan saga are completely inaccurate. What's stranger still is that these inaccurate figures are always either A.) off by only a thousand points or less or B.) given with the speaking character offscreen (rendering the "mouth flaps" excuse useless). Sometimes it's even a combination of the two.fps_anth then wrote:I'm gonna have to give this one to Brian Drummond. As for the mistranslation, Vegeta says "hassen" in the Japanese version. Ah, but I ramble on when I shouldn't. Budokai Tenkaichi 3, right? Back to the topic.
Regarding the two dragons . . . no, I don't suppose I want a whole 'nother character slot taken up for a "clone" character like San Shen Long, but nor would I care for a skin version who throws his brother's fire-based techniques. That's just stupid. Make San's techniques ice-colored at the very least or don't bother to include him at all, I would say.Son Gokuu wrote:San and Shû Shenron are twins.
Do you want both of them on separated character slots?
I prefer an skin for San (Shû must be the main character) and to use the other slot for another new character.

Twins with completly different atitudes, way of fighting and attacks. C'mon, one is fire, the other is ice; one is honorable, the other fights dirty. If two characters should be separated, these are the ones.Son Gokuu wrote:San and Shû Shenron are twins.
