They're reusing 'ideas', but they all get their own little names and are presented as new things. They are, after all, additions to a completely different engine, even if based on what B3 did.
However, the assets that I was talking about are animations, cutscenes, 3d models, textures, etc. They scrapped everything from Budokai for Tenkaichi 1, but I don't see why they'd have done that if they could just reuse Budokai's, especially the textures and 3d models of the characters. If they could just reuse those, they wouldn't go out of their way to make new ones for everyone.
As I've said, they can include a Tenshinhan/Yamcha dance fusion, but it won't look exactly like Budokai 2's "Tiencha".
Though I retract my previous statement, he could still be called Tiencha, as that name probably was chosen by whoever was localizing the game.
And including the Z-Points from the latest interview. They're assimilating almost everything from Budokai 3. Now this makes a lot of sense; the item doesn't level up, but the characters themselves (duh). We don't have to worry about resetting experience points removing potaras anymore.

I don't think it's that simple... the bgms in the American version of BT1 are the only reused asset from the Budokai series in the Tenkaichi series. I'm sure if they could just freely reuse assets from the past series they'd have done so to include more content in the first BT.
Spike has re-used everythng Dimps did in the Budokai games (though usally in a more crappy way) from the Password System to the new teleport counters and sonic sway.
No.... their using everything that makes DB what it is. It has nothin' to do with B3 it's just DB in general but FAR more realized making this the official DB experience!
It's been long overdue but it's finally here!

Now this is a fan.
Though, fighters can now increase the number of slots for items and this is great.
Sure would be used in Budokai 4. `n_n'

As cool and exciting as the prospect of original characters is, I have to wonder why they just don't bite the bullet and implement a true create-a-character mode. Maybe that'll be the shtick for the next series.
Hey, I entirely forgot I had an account here. AGAIN.

It looks like they based their art of base Goten and Trunks on this one from Butoden 3.

I really hope they improve Kid Trunk's actual character model in this game, for some reason I think it's been pretty crappy in the past 2 games, looks really half assed and goofy...
Well atleast Future Trunks always looks awesome

They are a great team it's true.
I love using the two of them versus a 5 man team of villains in BT2. You can beat them with just the two of them, or fuse to become Gotenks if you get in trouble. It's pretty sweet.
*Edit*
GASP!
I just noticed they got Goten's belt wrong. It's supposed to be black not blue!
Blasphemy.

I think it may be just the lighting of the screenshot.
EDIT
Oh yeah!!! just had a flick through some goten pics and its true that his belt is meant to be black.

Wow, I never noticed that. Apparently the developers didn't either. Makes you wonder if they actually check the colours and models or just go on memory.

Does the in game model of Goten have the correct colour? Maybe it's only this art that is wrong. Or at least I hope it's only the art.

It seems like they were off intentionally on Gotens belt, they followed Trunk's belt design down to the last detail, but they decided to flare Gotens belt out a little more in more then one way.

Well, it's not the only mistake on the artworks :

Vegeta's boots don't have these golden stripes at the beginning of the Adroid Saga. But it can't be helped, since Super Vegeta is a transformation of this character.

Wait a second, that's Vegeta (early)? I was under the impression that one would be Vegeta (Mid) and scouter Vegeta would be Vegeta (early)...
How many Vegeta's are there this time!?

I don't think there's a "mid" Vegeta. The one with scouter serves as the "early", and "early" Vegeta serves as "mid". [sarcasm]Yeah, I know, obvious[/sarcasm].

I was thinking, would they really not give us Vegeta GT? I mean, if they don't then Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta will be a seperate character, where as with Super Saiyan 4 Goku he has to transform to get there. Wouldn't make sense not to add him in.

I say they should just throw the transformation onto Buu saga vegeta and just give Vegeta a GT alternate costume because there is no real difference other than looks (Though they probably wont and make SSJ4 a separate character).

Yeah.....but if they do that it will kinda kill the near perfect acuracy of that the game carries not to mention it would look really awkward. They practically already made GT Vegeta with the Babi-Vegeta model so all they gotta do is change certain things like the outfit (the jacket) hair color, voice, fighting style and move set and of course super saiyan-jin transformations.

Hello all, I'm new to the forum but have looked over some threads in the past when I was looking for information on new DB games but I was too lazy to register and give my two cents on anything.
With that aside I have noticed a lot of discussion on the topic of how Future Gohan will work in this game (ie: the whole missing arm thing). Everyone seems to think that the one arm Gohan is an alternate costume as we've seen the videos with him attacking with only one arm.
However, I thought that maybe his battle damage skin would have the arm missing so he would lose it in battle like in the TV special and that maybe he was fighting with one arm from the start because they could not program his character to switch off from using it and then losing it mid battle.
This was proved as false in a new video as him arm just goes limper apparently when damaged. With no proof yet of an alternate costume I got to thinking that maybe they couldn't have him with an arm missing as maybe it would mess up hit detection or other characters' animations like throws where the opponent grabs both of your arms (ie: Ginyu's suplex) So maybe they wanted him to fight with one arm only but couldn't or didn't have enough time to reanimate various moves.
I don't know, I just wanted to throw that out there.
Also now that GT Kid Goku is in who else is going to level up his base form to be a god character like on the show?
Sorry for the long post and if I violated any rules I may have missed.
