A lot of fanbases are like that.

I wouldn't criticize entire fandoms. Every fandom has its reprobates.

You're right. I should have qualified it with 'some of.'

Fans jumping the gun when new episode synopsis leaking and the episodes themselves having yet to broadcast.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

That irritates me a lot. They not only jump the gun, they have a tendency to overreact. Again, this isn't limited to DB, either.

The idea that every dub voice needs to sound like the Japanese version to be good and to capture the character's personality. Schemmel and Sabat might not sound like Nozawa and Horikawa, but they now understand the characters well. Besides, a woman voicing adult Goku in English wouldn't work.

Yes. So much. Most of the time, I prefer to watch anime in Japanese, but sub elitists who say all dubs are bad infuriate me. Granted, the original DBZ Funimation dub is pretty bad, but all the voice actors have improved so much since then. And Sabat in particular has made Vegeta's voice his own. Like, whenever I read the manga, I can't help but read Vegeta in Sabat's voice.

Sub and dub elitists are equally annoying to me. In particular there's a certain guy whose name I won't mention that harasses people for being dub haters.

Ugh, I can't stand either sides. I believe that people are free to enjoy the show any way they want. A "sub elitist" is no more special than someone who likes the dub. It's not like they have special knowledge that the dub fans don't have access to. Everyone has access to both versions of the series, there's nothing special about having watched the Japanese version because it's almost as available as the dub. Fans who are dub fans probably made the conscious decision to not watch the Japanese version for whatever reason. On the other hand, the dub fans often don't vocalize why they like the dub properly and end up coming out with lame ass statements like how the music is bad or whatnot.

There's no right way to enjoy DB. There are facts like how the dub has a lot of things wrong and how they changed the music and some of the characters' traits. But saying that one voice is better than another or that one piece of music is better than another is not fact.

Oh well, it's just going to be something that will last forever. But I'm also not in the camp that thinks that a good dub means sounding like the original Japanese voice cast. They can't. It's nearly impossible. Any English-speaking culture -- whether it be the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, whomever -- has a vastly different culture than Japan. Thus, there are many things that cannot translate. We're all different in how we look, sound, think, dress, you name it, so saying that the U.S., which is extremely different from Japan, should recreate the perfect Japanese clone is impossible. What would be the purpose? Just watch the Japanese version with subtitles if that's what tickles your fancy. In fact, I rather enjoy that the dub made such a huge left turn; it's almost like it gave me a reason to watch both versions and care about both separately.

Oh well, this will never go away.

Preach, brother!

But seriously though, if someone ever insults the One Piece funimation dub, get ready to fight.

From what I saw of the One Piece Funimation dub, it was pretty good. Luci Christian does a great job as Nami. She's just a great actress.

Here's a big one: The use of (fan-made) thumbnails in YouTube videos that portray characters/scenes that never happened when discussing Dragon Ball Super news.

Examples:

1) Before we saw the rest of the Gods of Destruction, there were a lot of videos on YouTube that showed other deities that looked liked Anubis, foxes, bulls, crocodiles, etc. I remember the one that showed Vermouth and Beerus about to DESTROY each other. (Freaking liars...)

2) When they showed Caulifla for the first time, there was some strange tendency to photo-shop her flicking you off. (I didn't think that was funny)

3) *insert character* going Super Saiyan Blue/2/3/abcxyz
DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...

My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid. :P

OMG YES!! I'm fine with seeing random fan-art of it on Twitter or wherever because, ya know, it's practically fan concept-art, but I keep on seeing these YT thumbnails for DB discussion videos with Bardock in SSJ, or even SSB or some other form, and I'm just like "That never happened!!" :problem:

Bardock is one of the most popular characters in the franchise so it's only a matter of time before it does happen.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Really? We see so little of him.

I believe that the purpose of having the English cast sounding like the Japanese cast is to create the perfect dub or something, which is ridiculous. I prefer when voice actors do their unique takes on the characters,

Like Johnny Yong Bosch once said, they're voice actors not imitators.

I don't like the term definitive voice of said character. It comes off as arrogant.

I hate it how in the original DB Tenshinhan goes to study a technique that would kill him to defeat king Piccolo. While Goku just drinks some water. And the result is Tenshinhan's technique is useless and he loses against a henchman. While Goku proceeds to one-shot the henchman and subsequently defeats king Piccolo himself. And just one arc before both characters were on equal footing, with Tenshinhan beating Goku in the tournament.

Yeah sucks that Ten got shit on so early after he was goku's equal the previous arc. Should have at least let him beat drum then get stomped by piccolo ,give him a bit more credit.
