What with Dragon Ball Fighter Z being announced, comparisons to Guilty Gear have already arisen. Now I'm sure some have heard the name Daisuke Ishiwatari in reference to possibly being the producer for DBFZ since he usually works on the bigger fighting games for Arc System Works. But what some don't know is that he also composes the music for the games he works on. And he's downright good.
So this all got me thinking. What if he were to make music for Dragon Ball? I've picked out a few songs from both Blazblue and Guilty Gear that I personally think would fit well with Dragon Ball. Give 'em a listen, try to visualize the fight references and tell me what you think. Or even post your own suggestions.
I think this would work well for fights involving Cell. Primarily, Perfect Cell:
Guilty Gear X2 - Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead) (Ky Kiske's theme)

This one would go well with Goku Vs. Majin Vegeta:
BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - Blood Pain (Mirror Match theme)

I can honestly see Broly powering up at the beginning of this one and then proceeding to lay waste to his opponents.
BlazBlue Chronophantasma - Silent Scream (Yuuki Terumi's theme)

This would have worked well for the SS Goku Vs. Freeza fight.
BlazBlue Central Fiction - Jaeger (Naoto Kurogane's theme)

Finally, picture a fight against either Super Buu or Kid Buu as you listen to this one.
Guilty Gear X2 - The Midnight Carnival (Boss I-No's theme)

What would you think of Daisuke Ishiwatari as DB's composer?

Re: What would you think of Daisuke Ishiwatari as DB's composer?
For video game music, he would be alright, but I wouldn't want him to compose for the show. He's too similar to Sumitomo and we know what the problem with that type of composer is by reading the 2nd quote in my signature. If possible, I'd love Yoshihiro Ike to compose Dragon Ball music because he's done a spectacular job for the computer game Shadowverse and since Kikuchi-sensei seemingly doesn't want anything to do with DB anymore (though he's still active), I'd rather have someone decent composing BGMs rather than having to savour the occasional decent Sumitomo track among all the electronica trash.
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.
"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu
