Hey hey, I believe I mentioned this somewhere earlier, but just to put it out there for anyone who might want to see it...

All the info about the doujin can be found at the above URL.

It looks very familiar; I might've read it somewhere a very long time ago.

When was it first drawn?
On hiatus.

That's one of the first doujins/fan comics I've read and really enjoyed. Only complaint would be that the backgrounds are bland, but that's forgivable if the rest of the art is consistent. I actually want to read more. :D

Well I remember the story well and I recognize the project. There was a doujinshi being made based on "Walk this World", a story about Future Trunk's timeline set after he had defeated the androids and Cell. Eighteen apparentley survived the final battle with Trunks but suffered amnesia. Thus the story begins... The premise is summed up in those pages you saw. The original Doujinshi was good but had not progressed any further than the first chapter I believe. So the doujinshi must have been restarted. Interesting...

So does that mean there will be more page added?

And where can I find the original story in full?

Woah! I wasn't expecting any replies to this post, but I'll try to address some of your questions (though there is also a full explanation on the website).

There is an existing "version" of the doujinshi that stopped after 16 pages which can be found here: http://vejiita4eva.homestead.com/fanmanga.html

If you feel familiar with the story or comic, you may have seen the above pages.

This specific project started roughly 2 weeks ago, which is why only 5 pages are currently up, and even those are still under production (believe me, this isn't the first complaint I've heard about the backgrounds or lack thereof). The goal is to get at least one page up a week--I posted the link here in hopes that it may make its way into some peoples bookmarks if they feel it's worth checking back on.

Thanks!
I just checked out the old comic. The art seemed a bit better I think. But yeah maybe it's just the more detailed backgrounds that make it seem so. I'll definately be checking this new one out too.

I love #18. I'm wondering where they can go with this with most of the characters dead. I'll read the original story asap.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like your artwork. If you feel that taking more time to work on backgrounds would detract from the other art, or it's the way you intended it to be, I think it's fine. It just threw me off that the art for the characters is so great, but the backgrounds seem kind of... generic?

Keep up the great work, I may not have seen or read many Dragon Ball doujins, but I really like this one.

Hmm this link doesn't work here on my work computer. I'll try it when I get home I guess.

Thank you for the feedback--I didn't realize that the, err, "simplicity" of the backgrounds might be detracting from the comic, but I was planning on re-inserting them into the already finished pages once I figure out the deal with Bulma's lab and the landscapes n' shiz. I'll make it a higher priority now, though. Thanks again!

Hmm, on second thought maybe it's not that the older art is better, it's just that it was more Akira Toriyama-esque. This new one has it's own style, which is good in it's own way. Just threw me off a bit.

Let me know if this strikes anyone's fancy...

Image

Redone background from page 2, third panel.

I know my style tends to be very character-centric, but I'll definitely be making more of an effort with the backgrounds now, at least.

I like that one a lot better (that's actually the frame that threw me off). I can't wait wait for more! Keep up the amazing work. :D

It's a lot better yeah. But if you can go even further with more detail, I'd encourage it. It's not necessary for the comic to be good, but it'd just make it that much better.

Meanwhile, I still can't get that link for the story to work. I've used both my home computer and my work computer. There isn't another place it's hosted is there?

Hmm, I know the website is a free AOl/homestead site and has been flaky for me in the past. The ToT only links to it--I don't know of any other places that host it, sorry! I'd try checking back in a few hours; I don't think the site is down, the server's just unreliable.

You do have permission from Juuhachi-gou, Mirai Bulma and Mirai Marron to do this, right? Speaking for myself, I wouldn't like anyone essentially reprinting my fanfiction without my permission.

I personally prefer the original art, but I'm glad this has restarted at all. This new one seems too "polished", you know - like going from hand-drawn (original) to digitally drawn (your style)
The original fanfiction can be found here

EDIT: switched to internet archive link. Also, there is a sequel available on the home page of this site.
