Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
What do you expect from Goku vs. Jiren fight? Do you think it will surpass the animation quality of episode 66?
I think so ! Maybe it is dreaming too much and more when there is a tournament of this style in the middle, but I hope that we can see the best animated fight of DBS.

I'd be very disappointed if they reuse the same animation that Is In the opening.Burast wrote:What do you expect from Goku vs. Jiren fight? Do you think it will surpass the animation quality of episode 66?

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
I honestly expect (and hope) the battle between Jiren and Goku to beat episode 66 in terms of animation once Goku transforms. Considering how much the animation is being conservative lately, I don't really believe mine is wishful thinking.Burast wrote:What do you expect from Goku vs. Jiren fight? I'm expecting to be the best fight DBS ever had, both in animation and art.Burast wrote:What do you expect from Goku vs. Jiren fight? Do you think it will surpass the animation quality of episode 66?
I'm also expecting they reuse stuff from the Opening, because everything looks beautiful and there's no reason to not do it.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

When they fight in the opening, they're flying.FortuneSSJ wrote:I'm expecting to be the best fight DBS ever had, both in animation and art.Burast wrote:What do you expect from Goku vs. Jiren fight? Do you think it will surpass the animation quality of episode 66?

So unless the Daishinkan can change the physics of the World of Void somehow, I don't think the opening clips can be used.

By no flying, I assume they just mean floating.KameNinja45 wrote: When they fight in the opening, they're flying.

Jump high, dash and trade blows in the air it's possible because it's just a matter of time until they eventually come down. That's what we see in the Opening and so far in the Tournament.

Good job on the new video Ajay.
Where did you hear about the drawing number limit being raised for the tournament?

I distinctly remember Tu saying that he had learnt a bit from working around Shida. I think that would help explain why his work has been so snappy of late and why he is actually homaging some of Shida's work on Z(which could have been coincidental).

I don't think Shimanuki's art was quite as polished or consistent in 98 as it was in 90, but he still provided some great stuff.

Also, is it just me or did he manage to correct animation in 98 without any of his stiffness making its way into others' work?

I was thinking the same thing, the fire-breath cut of his in 98 is very Shida.JazzMazz wrote:I distinctly remember Tu saying that he had learnt a bit from working around Shida. yeah i guess you're right he might have realized his mistakes although some of that stiffness made it's way through kenji's cut when goku was turning around to fight ki blast basilArchedThunder wrote:I don't think Shimanuki's art was quite as polished or consistent in 98 as it was in 90, but he still provided some great stuff.

Seemed fine to me, though he did stop in a kind of awkward position.Nasryyy wrote:yeah i guess you're right he might have realized his mistakes although some of that stiffness made it's way through kenji's cut when goku was turning around to fight ki blast basil

That scene was completely fine, and was definitely one of the stronger scenes from the episode. One of the weaker examples of his Supervision was Vegeta's battle with the ice guy, there was a definite stiffness there.ArchedThunder wrote:Seemed fine to me, though he did stop in a kind of awkward position.Nasryyy wrote:yeah i guess you're right he might have realized his mistakes although some of that stiffness made it's way through kenji's cut when goku was turning around to fight ki blast basil

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
You mean the repeating frame clash part? I don't know if I'd call that Shimanuki stiffness, it was just a bad clash with poses that didn't flow into each other, so that would be an issue caused by the animator, not Shimanuki making someone else's animation stiffer.JazzMazz wrote: That scene was completely fine, and was definitely one of the stronger scenes from the episode. Also interestingly enough, if you remove that clash the scene actually flows really well and looks good.

Was this with a mouse? If so, (but only if you have an interest in doing it; if not dont bother) I suggest investing in a tablet. a lot of startups use the small tablets that cost $70-80 USD. i use a Cintiq 22HD for my animation.
Speaking of animation I feel like we should all just get together and email Toei some very rough animation for cleanup under the anonymous name "Kazebooru". I know it would never work but it would make a great April fools day joke. for instance I animated this and now the scene it was being used for was scrapped from the production.

Interesting. Average drawings per anime episode is 3000 in the industry. 4500 means they really are going all out. Now I really want to see some good animators taking advantage and going all out. I don't know if that means all episode of TOP will have 4500 or some will have more or less. I don't imagine them allocating a lot of drawings in an light episode.

And exactly, what does having more drawings change?

Shida's influence on Tu started at just the right time, his work in the last two episodes is pretty heavily animated. Hopefully he's not on 99 and 100 though, I know he's very fast, but I'd like to see him get a bit more time for his next episode.Sodhi wrote:Interesting. Speaking of, I wonder when Shida is going to show up again, my guess would be somewhere from 102 to 105.
A higher drawing per episode limit means the episodes can have more animation. It'll especially be hugely beneficial once we get to the climax of the arc.emperior wrote: Is this thing only for the tournament?
