You know what I think the outline is also bad and Toei is attempting to fix some parts of it by tweaking some parts...

In the anime Trunks used Mafuba, in the manga it was Goku who did it, Toei didnt follow the outline during that scene, and also in the manga Goku vs Merged Zamasu was the climax, while in the manga it was a Trunks vs Merged Zamasu, AGAIN Toei not following the outline.

Kinda curious how the ToP will be handled in the anime, I hope Jiren doesnt turn into another cowardly antagonist.

Jiren looks like the silent but deadly type, so he'll probably end up as cool aa Hit did. Kinda wish they didnt do the same thing twice but whatever.

Actually, it makes me wonder if Toriyama even specified who did these things in the outline or if he just left it vague so that T&T could do whatever. Something like 'there's a battle where Zamasu appears to be defeated, but he spreads out of control so Goku calls the Omni-King.' Because that's basically what happens in both versions.

Did you read the outline from Toriyama somewhere? You shouldn't really jump the gun at Toei. If anything, the outline, in the parts you mentioned, was probably among the lines of "Zamasu is sealed with Mafuba but he escapes because there's no amulet" and "Trunks slices the Fused Zamasu in half, although this doesn't stop Zamasu because he's immortal and he becomes an even greater problem". I believe it was vague as that and that's why the two versions differ so much.

Wouldn't the outline being so vague that whoever's writing it can do whatever they want be a problem?

Toriyama probably keeps them in check, though he has given both Toei and Toyotaro a lot of freedom over the FT arc. That's probably because he didn't care much about it in the first place, as it was rumored Toriyama was almost dropping Super after the U6 arc so that Toei had to give him suggestions for the following arc.

Hopefully the ToP turns out to have been very detailed by Toriyama.

I just didnt expect the outline to be THAT thin tbh.

Toei might not be perfect but they did a great job overall with Blacks portrayal, his personality is so much better and different than in the manga.

We getting a new chapter this week is a good thing because it helps us kill a bit of time before getting Episode 100, centered on the Saiyan kids. That episode might cause a bigger shitstorm, some people are already complaing why SSJ2 Caulifla is even with current SSJ2 Goku...

I don't get that complaint at all. We have no idea how strong Caulifla is. She's never actually fought anybody in Super. So the show can realistically do what the hell they want with Caulifla's strength and it won't contradict anything.

I also think that Toriyama's outline is quite vague. The vast difference between how the plot progress between the anime and the manga indicate to me that Toyotaro and the Toei writing staff are given a lot of freedom to put their spin of Toriyama's baseline plot for Super.

Cauliflowa I expect will have a similar situation as cabba and Vegeta..
Goku will test her giving an impression she can put up a fight against him then proceeds to crush her

For a series like Dragon Ball that seems to be planned one arc at time, it probably isn't. Any future arcs can be written to fit in with what the previous arcs have done. Plus the writers can always consult with Toriyama or the DB room or whoever. Now if Toriyama had somegrand overarching vision for how the series would play out, then it would be a big problem.

But the producers already described Toriyama's outline for the Universal Survival Arc as barebones.

But people already complained about this and the consistency. Were you around during the U6 arc when the yellow SSJ hair forms first came back and everyone complained that it didn't fit with what was established in the previous two arcs?

It only doesnt fit what was established if you take a great leap in head cannon. Most people think SSB is SSG + SSJ but that is head cannon.

It was never established that Goku and Vegeta couldn't go through regular SS forms. Not once in the arc or movie. In fact them being able too makes sense given in BoG Goku went SS after reverting not SSGSS.

it depends on who you give it to?

Toriyama's allow freedom that's what we can tell from the manga and the anime adaption. Problem is: Toei aren't good with that kind of thing and I'm not even talking GT here, I'm talking about the movies.

Toyotaro is a fan, not a writer.

Would Super look worse if Toriyama was doing everything like back in the old days, it depends on what he is trying to do. If he wants to tell a story, he can be good jaco proves that. But if he wants to give fans what they want which he NEVER did in the original, then we get Minus and RoF

About the bolded part, you might not like his writing and work but you need to respect him. Being Camões or Shakespeare isn't necessary to be called a writer. He's paid to draw the Super Manga that makes him a writer.

If you don't like his writing there's constructive ways to criticize it and word it. The way you said it is just insulting.

An odd complaint really. I'm sure some of the writers on the show have also said they are fans, just gotta go digging through all those interviews haha.

I think that's on the fans, because Goku very clearly went Super Saiyan at the end of Battle of Gods and it was also mentioned that they could during their training with Whis but chose not to. People assumed Blue replaced the vanilla Super Saiyan but it was never actually established that it did.

I think I know what Totamo is trying to say. Toyotaro is primary a fan, doing fan work of DB is why he was recognised in the first place. And it shows in his writing he lacks ingenuity, the end of the Black from what I have seen is basically a Cooler movie rip off, it feels like Toyotaro spends too long and too much effort on showing us how much of a fan of the series he is, instead of coming up with cool moments himself, the anime is guilty of this too but it happens much more frequently in the Manga pretty much every chapter it feels like and they keep getting less subtle, this is a new series new stories if I want old stories I will read/watch them.

You can be a fan of something while working for it, but sometimes you have to learn to separate that side from yourself.
