Nah I say the anime capture the emotions better like ft trunks.for the battles yeah I agree they are very fun to look at even if Vegeta vs black round 2 looked underwhelming compared to their first matchKi Breaker wrote: Manga captures them as real flesh and blood creatures with emotions so much more than the anime ever manages to achieve..
Part of it is because it's a drawn medium so it's easier to spot all these details, a much bigger part is it simply being a better take of the story from my perspective

I have to confess to liking those glimpses of Zamasu using defencive martial arts. What was it? Taijiquan? You don't see variation amongst the styles all too often. Frost? Maybe not so much. Pretty generic styling of combat. The only notable part was at the beginning in the anime when he drove Goku into the stadium floor using his legs to manipulate the directional impact of his opponent's body. The gr wrote:This battle alone made me excited to see the manga take on the new arc and his hand to hand combat is also great [spoiler]SansrivaaL wrote:For some reason I can already feel the manga will make me enjoy the arc more than the anime had... please prove me right Toyo, you are my only hope now!![]()

The only thing the manga did better was the explanation of Beerus defeating Zamasu in the new alternate world. Besides that they feel the same to me.
Though I don't understand why Toyo added the "we can't go back to that TL again!" and then simply made Pilaf fix that.

Artificial tension, just annoying fluff, though the anime does this so much more that I can't even care tbh.Sandubadear wrote:=Though I don't understand why Toyo added the "we can't go back to that TL again!" and then simply made Pilaf fix that.

Really like the extra scenes with Gohan, showing that he started training off screen, if their is a timeskip for Bulma's pregnancy, that means that Gohan would've been getting back into shape for almost 9 months, making his participation in the Tournament of Power and any power increases he gets more believable.

I like the manga better because I don't have to worry about important moments being ruined with crap animation. Toyo is incredible at drawing Dragon Ball.

I don't think so. Honestly with them making the side chapter with Gohan already having started training instead of doing it after the prelim with piccolo, it feels like the manga will jump the prelim and the recruiting part of the arc.The gr wrote:Is not translated as far as I know heck ms didn't even bother to translate the other two side storyincarnati0n wrote:Is the side story already translated? I was talking about the specific phrasing, though. Goku did have Gohan fight Vegeta, but it wasn't originally phrased quite the way TFS phrased it. And that was what I felt Toyotaro was borrowing from in the Zeno scene. Not just that Goku was telling Zeno to go to town on Zamasu in general terms, but they way it seemed to be phrased almost as "Sic 'em!!"OLKv3 wrote:Except it was done way before TFS when Goku got Gohan to attack Vegeta in the first place. Goku: Remember Icarus?

Goku: He did it.

I thought I was the only one to realize that! I'm starting to believe some people in Toei staff or maybe Toyotaro himself likes TFS![]()

Trunks changing his mind about living in the present after talking to Gohan greatly improves the ending. I still don't it, but now it feels more wholesome and not from left field.
I'm very curious and excited to see how Toyotarõ will handle the upcoming arc. The tidbit that Gohan is training in the gravity chamber is already a good start.
Let's see how he frames the battles in such a stage. Hopeful he has ideas like that page were Vegeta rushes Goku Black in the front and Goku rushes Future Zamasu in the background.

I just read chapter 26. Goes as expected, and it's even good to see that Future Mai says a few words to Pilaf (IIRC, in the anime it looked like she ignored the small trio, apart from giving a quick look to Small Mai), but:
- As often Toyotaro tends to explain things a little more than Toei, I expected some more explanation about Zamasu's final features: why did he start multiplying himself? Before the fusion time ran out, he did simply regenerate his main body, he did not multiply it (detached limbs did not end up growing to new bodies)! Instead we got no more explanations after the "Zamasu is rejecting de-fusion due to him and Black being basically the same person" moment in the previous chapter. Oh well, Toyotaro also did not explain why the fused Zamasu was still completely immortal despite Black's body was mortal...
- The scene about a time ring disappearing gives the idea of a timeline being completely wiped out (not "just" its U7 or its 12 universes, but "everything", one would think including even "time" itself)... but in that case, how's possible that Goku reaches that future again, to get Future Zeno floating in void?
- So even Beerus cannot kill an immortal? Really? Not even with Hakai technique?
- I missed a bit the anime scene of Gohan saying Bye to Trunks, with Trunks thinking about his mentor and being sad about having failed to save his world. However, IIRC Gohan did not appear at all in the arc in the manga, so probably he wasn't even aware of Future Trunks return at all.

Yeah I'm liking that Toyotaro is having Gohan train months ahead of the tournament instead of the anime where it was just two days before it, I wonder if the same will be with Cabba, Caulifia and Kale. If Caulifia unlocks SSJ2 in months of training instead the same day she unlocks SSJ, people might be more okay with her having it. Also similar to showing normal SSJ Goku Black before SSJ Rose, Toyotaro might show normal SSJ Kale before SSJ Berserk.LightBing wrote:Trunks changing his mind about living in the present after talking to Gohan greatly improves the ending. Gohan was already training in the anime very shortly after the Resurrection F arc ended. We see him sparring with Piccolo in Episode 30 and nothing indicates he stropped training.Zeru14 wrote:Yeah I'm liking that Toyotaro is having Gohan train months ahead of the tournament instead of the anime where it was just two days before it, I wonder if the same will be with Cabba, Caulifia and Kale. Also, Cabba only starts to interact with Caulifla and Kale when he starts recruiting more fighters for Universe 6 in the Tournament Of Power. Caulifla won't be able to unlock SSJ2 months prior to the Tournament Of Power because he knowledge of SSJ only comes from she is taught it by Cabba. Of course, the circumstances could change...

Well, in the anime there are implications about just that, actually. Gohan is taken aback at Piccolo's power in their pre-TOP training session and Piccolo states that while Gohan was busy "being a scholar" (in context, just slacking off) he (Piccolo) had just kept training.Lord Beerus wrote:Gohan was already training in the anime very shortly after the Resurrection F arc ended. It's either that or Piccolo never going all-out against Gohan at any point in their previous trainings, but I feel like the second possibility sounds a little more dubious.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Piccolo is stating the obvious though. Gohan is always going to be more busy be researching and studying, regardless of how much he trains. The implication isn't more of a case of that Gohan stopped training. It's just a case of, while Gohan was more busy studying and researching, Piccolo kept training on his own. Consider Gohan asked Piccolo to train him after the events of ROF, I'm guessing Gohan naively assumed that any serious training that would happen would be when they are both together, but Gohan just got more busy with his scholaring job and Piccolo mad substantial gains without him. Plus, we already see through SSJ Gohan and SSJ Goku sparring in Episode 75, with Gohan more than holding his own, that Gohan had grown stronger through some capacity. So he was certainly keeping in strength but Gohan hadn't reached his peak level of strength just yet for training with Piccolo after the events ROF, as stated and shown in Episode 88. It's really more just more of a case that the frequency of Gohan training on his own was less than that of Piccolo when he was on his own.LowRyder2005 wrote:Well, in the anime there are implications about just that, actually. So your take is that Gohan kept training but that Piccolo just trained more? I don't know, but I guess it might be; can't really think of much that directly contradicts the idea.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Yeah. That's what I think. It's very much plausible, too. Given the nature of both characters. I'd imagine that Gohan's training regime since the ROF would have been relatively light. And while ti was good enough to make a decent amount of gains, it wasn't not enough to reach his peak in terms of strength. Remember, his SSJ and SSJ2 form were actually weaker in the Majin Boo arc and beyond compared to how strong they were in the Cell Games, so he was most likely training to regain those peaks in power again. Which he seemed to and only reach but even gain further power in Episode 75 considering he could hang with SSJ Goku in sparring match. And considering that his Ultimate form is indeed a transformation according to Super, I'm guessing that the strength he had already accumulated prior regaining the form was more enough that with the Ultimate form stacked on top of it, his strength multiplied many times over. Which would explain why he could hang with SSJB Goku.LowRyder2005 wrote:So your take is that Gohan kept training but that Piccolo just trained more?
