Voice Distorter?

Post by veshira » Tue Sep 04, 2007 5:22 pm

I need a program that can distort my voice into a guy's for a project I'm working on. (_ _); Please, can anyone suggest a program where I can take a prerecorded wav file, distort it and then save the distorted file? I've gone through a handful of free downloadables, but they've been complicated and limited.

I really only need to make my voice deeper, rather than... I don't know, whatever else distorter programs can do. I mean, I do want it to sound believable - not automatically slowed down in the process. @_@; Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Audacity should do what you need just fine, if all you want to do is make your voice deeper.

Record what you need, go to Effect >> Change Pitch, and play around with the options. If all you want is for it to sound deeper, just drag the slider to the left and see how deep you want it to go.

Then just do File >> Export As WAV and you're done.
