I have to agree with Humpski... Gohan going Super Saiyan 2 was the scene that converted me to the Japanese version.

And here's the French version of said scene for anyone who's interested in hearing an instrumental "Unmei no Hi".
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

My favorite battle sequence is Goku's Kaioken x3 Kamehameha vs. Vegeta's Gallick-ho during their first battle on earth. Favorite powerup sequence is when Commander Ginyu convinces Goku to show him his true power. That fiery Kaioken powerup had them scared shitless.

Favorite comedy moment is when Vegeta questions Future Trunks about what it is he is staring at. Trunks says he likes Vegeta's shirt, that's all. Vegeta scoffs and says, "You would." My best friend and I still quote that at each other all the time, it is like a huge in-joke for us.

I expected a different clip when someone said "First" time Vegeta used Final Flash. The time against Cell is definately one of the coolest, but the technical first time it was used was against Recoome on Namek.

My fave moment would be when future trunks first arives and my fave funny moment would be when cooler punches vegeta flying after his cool entrance and speech.

When (in the anime) Tenshinhan has to give that tuna fish joke to North Kaio, and they act like it's a fight...they sweat, then Ten tries to tell it but forgets, then he concentrates his energy and yells it, and then it shows four of him cornering North Kaio, and yelling it, then he says something like "Did you hear that KAIO!! I said YOU CAN TUNE A PIANO, BUT YOU CAN'T TUNE A FISH!!!" in a kikoho stance. That was great.

I gotta say every single scene that shows the humans more useful. I loved the scene when Yamcha was excited because he was going to be trained by Kami.

The part that always gets me excited is the fight with Nappa. With each of the fighters taken out by Nappa, you feel the building sense of hopelessness with each death. Then Goku shows up, and its hard to feel anything but happy and relieved. Yay! The day is saved!

One that just came to mind: When Goku is on his way to Namek and talks to Kaio-sama about how there's someone even stronger than Vegeta there. Kaio offers to scan the planet for him and sees that it's Freeza. Then he starts screaming at Goku not even to TRY and fight; just grab Gohan, Kuririn, and Bulma and get the hell out. Goku wants to fight, but Kaio just completely overrides him; to fight Freeza will be to bring unstoppable wrath on both Namek and Earth.

"You can't handle this one, son! NOBODY CAN!"

A nice moment that shows both Kaio being serious (very rare) and also driving home just how powerful Freeza must be, if a god thinks fighting him is completely useless.

Wow, is that what they pulled in the dub? That's horrendous.

What really happens is that Gohan realizes his father's plan: to make Gohan enraged so he'll unleash his full potential. However, Gohan admits to Cell that if that happens, he'll kill Cell. Since that goes against what Gohan stands for, he fights to remain in control. It's not that he doesn't want to fight, it's that he doesn't want to lose himself.

Cell, however, thinks that it's a bluff and proceeds to torture everyone with the Cell Jrs while Gohan struggles to keep his head. When #16 dies after pleading with Gohan to use his power, Gohan snaps. There *is* no conscious thought or epiphany that makes him go SSJ2, it's blind rage. Gohan, for all intents and purposes, is gone.

It's especially evident when Goku tells him to finish Cell off, but Gohan looks over at him and says (approximately), "Finish him? I'm not done making him suffer yet." You can't tell me that's not out of character for Gohan, since it sure as hell made the others look at him with a sort of horror. He doesn't regain himself until Cell goes kamikaze, when he realizes what he's done and watches his father die for his actions.

Point being, a monologue is completely out of place for that moment. In the episode previously, Gohan's turmoil is expressed throughly in his pathetic cries for Cell to stop. IMHO, especially taking into consideration what follows (Gohan's brutal execution of the Cell Jrs., his toying with Cell with the expressed purpose of making him suffer, etc.) and the animation itself, any dialogue is highly out of place.

Being a Vegeta fan, I love Vegeta vs. Android 19.

I also love all the fights between Vegeta and Kakarot, but I like the first one best. I recently watched the first season and I ended up making my Mom into a DBZ fan. XD Wow. Unfortunately, she took Kakarot's side. We argued forever. During the fight we were all, "Ha! Take that!" or, "Ha-HA! See what mine just did?" It was followed by a DBZ pillow fight. Several bad puns and many Huh! Hiya! Hoho!'s later... You get the idea. ...A little off topic. Maybe.
Vegeta needs some love. <3

Here's one of my favorite moments from the Z series. I prefer the dubbed version over the original.

You've got a cool mom!

I'm currently making my Fiance into a Dragonball fan with these newest DVD releases. Like most female DBZ fans I know, she loves Piccolo.

(I'm also making her watch Buffy and Angel)
