Crazy to hear Daman Mills actually popped up in a Funi dub
I remember years back when he was still doing fandubs on youtube
Guy did a completely spot-on Clarke Perfect Cell impression but he wiped all but one video of it when he went professional
All that aside; anyone here have the Bluray/DVD that released the other day?
Curious if they use the English or Japanese version of Chouzetsu Dynamic

Yeah, I've managed to talk to him a few times in his "Fandub Days". Honestly, I think if there's anyone that could fulfill the role as Freeza, it would be him.AzuraRacon wrote:Crazy to hear Daman Mills actually popped up in a Funi dub

Here's one of his old fandubs as Freeza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHnE7kPofcU
While his performance isn't perfect, the voice and inflections will develop as he gains experience.

#30 title: A Run-Through for the Competition! Who Are the Last Two Members?!
#31 title: Off to See Master Zuno! Find Out Where the Super Dragon Balls Are!
#31 was one of my favourites of the arc, can't wait for some more Rial and Haberkorn shenanigans

Surprisingly it is the Japanese version. Strange since the english version is on Toonami.AzuraRacon wrote:Crazy to hear Daman Mills actually popped up in a Funi dub

I don't like the performance because it's a bad soundalike.8000 Saiyan wrote:So, you basically hate Mills' performance because he's a jerk? It was jarring within the episode to go from The amazing Chris Ayres to the meh Daman Mills. As far as soundalikes go he's OK, but not as good as Alexis Tipton is as Trunks. There is a personal reason though why I don't like him. He is very notorious in the Pokémon fan base for being very rude to people who don't like the current English dub and will attack anyone who doesn't like his BFF Michele Knotz as Jessie. Yes I know separate the person from the art, but this is one of the few times where I can't. I really hope Chris Ayres gets better soon so we can hear him in the Universal Survival arc otherwise Daman will have to really fine-tune the voice in order to please people who like Chris Ayres. To me the only thing he has going for him is that at least it isn't Linda Young again.

They used the Japanese version on Toonami until about the end of the battle of gods arc (where I expect part 1 ends) so it really could've gone either wayTRIZACK wrote:Surprisingly it is the Japanese version. Glad we got it in Japanese if only for this set

I also legitimately don't like his voice. It's better suited for Cell like in his old fandubs.Dpc292 wrote:...it's because he doesn't like the guy, let's face it guys.DB_Fan1991 wrote:I don't like the performance because it's a bad soundalike.8000 Saiyan wrote: So, you basically hate Mills' performance because he's a jerk? So they gave Toonami another half hour at 11 & they pushed it & Kai TFC forward a half hour. What about the 8 PM slot, is it still there?
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Yes, it is. 8:00 PM is a re-run while 8:30 PM is a new episode. So, Super now airs 3 episodes every Saturday night!Scsigs wrote:So they gave Toonami another half hour at 11 & they pushed it & Kai TFC forward a half hour. What about the 8 PM slot, is it still there?

Wow. Well that proves Adult Swim & Toonami ARE better than Cartoon Network. They actually run GOOD shows multiple times a night rather than one really bad one. Not to name names...*Cough* Teen Titans Go.superfan2024 wrote:Yes, it is. 8:00 PM is a re-run while 8:30 PM is a new episode. Not gonna lie, the dub retellings flew by for me. Really happy with the English dub so far.
Champa arc starts next week! Counting down the days until episode 39. Cannot wait to see Blue Kaioken in English. That is going to be all kinds of hype.

Well there we have it the retellings are done. Is it just me or did the retellings this time go by a lot faster than last time?

They went faster, mostly because of retrospect. This time around we know what to expect so its easier to prepare for the bad and get hyped for the good that we know will be coming.

YES!! WE FINALLY MADE IT! It's been a tough 7 months. At times it never looked like we'd ever make, it felt forever we we're drowning in the retellings... But we're here now! :

Today's dub was great, even better than the original.
I can't wait to see the new content though, especially Champa and Vados.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

The Freeza retelling was only 9 episodes, that is why.TRIZACK wrote:Well there we have it the retellings are done. Is it just me or did the retellings this time go by a lot faster than last time?
For me past the main Champa arc I enjoyed pretty much every DBS episode, I am curious to see whether on a re-watch whether my opinion on the main Champa arc will change or not now like you said we are wary, BoG arc sat a lot better with me but the Freeza arc was still hot garbage.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote:They went faster, mostly because of retrospect. I gotta say I enjoyed the ROF retelling far more than I would. Especially after recently watching the Resurrection F movie again. There were some aspects of the ROF arc I didn't enjoy that much originally, but in retrospect from watching the arc, and I'm not sure whether this has anything to do with watching accompanied with the great English dub (it might have...
), I enjoyed the subtle changes that ROF arc made in comparison to the story in the movie. Stuff like Goku getting shot in is base form instead of SSJB form, Goku not wanting to kill Freeza because he's think not worth it and not because he wants to fight him again, Freeza not offering Vegeta to work by side again if he kills Goku (which was a really dumb thing to happen in the movie when you think about it) and Vegeta just brute forcing his way to Super Saiyan Blue like good ol' Vegeta would in the past.

Man I forgot how awful #27 was. Awfully animated and the music killed Vegeta's moment. Transformation was good though only saving grace, other than that bleugh.
Thankfully the worst of Super is behind us!
