The "Countdown" bit takes place during the scene when Vegeta taunts 1st-form Freeza into transforming. Freeza agrees but asks for someone to give him a countdown beforehand, and after Vegeta responds with how ridiculous it is (ironically, speaking on behalf of the audience ), he hastily counts off "Okay, fine; 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1."
That line pissed me off more then any other dub line. That is such a different line in the Japanese version, I think its somthing about Frezza blowing up Planet Vegeta. Its actually pretty important. :?

That's not the visual track that actually plays for the scene, but the audio is as you would have heard it in the original dub . . . and now apparently, the 2007 redub. :(

Yah, it is not a very good line, but I guess at least it is redubbed. Anything is better then Chris Sabet's 1999 Vegeta saying it.

Yeah that's right, Freeza more or less says that he didn't have to transform when he destroyed Planet Vegeta. I do vaguely remember that "countdown" after I heard the audio sample but I only have the Japanese one embedded into my memory that I thought they said more or less the same thing in the dub. Guess not.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Granted, but I doubt there are more than a few people on this forum who are ignorant enough to believe that there is anything out there compares to or trumps the DragonBoxes in quality.

I mean, I could say "I saw these episodes on International Channel back in 1999-2000" or whatever, but I simply said the DragonBoxes because they're proven to not be altered in terms of color.

Though, to correct, I have 7.1 now (got my retirement from my old job finally)...though my receiver is defective and I'm waiting on the replacement. Gives me time to read American Psycho and such ;p

I have a couple questions... Firstly, can you confirm that Faulconer's music is in fact the score used for the "US Broadcast" version?
And secondly, a follow-up question to that.. Does the US Broadcast opener still feature Menza's intro music, or have they switched to Faulconer's intro theme to correspond with the switch to Faulconer's score?

That's been confirmed about 5 times over. So yeah, the "US Broadcast"-track has Faulconer's score.

ATTN: Dragon Box Owners. Can you post the exact same pic from the dragon box so I can see whether or not the colors are accurate so I can set my TV's color settings back to normal?

The bottom seems more cropped than the top. Which is interesting because I thought that the cropping was equal at the top and the bottom. The sad thing is we aren't gaining anything from this shot except, "never before seen shoulder action", from Freeza and Piccolo.

Yeah I noticed something similar with the shot of Goku immediately after his SSJ transformation. I was looking at some video clips of it in the original 4:3 and trying to work out what it would look like in 16:9 and it seemed like they'd have to cut off almost all of his gold hair. But I just watched the episode in the season set and it seems like they framed it up higher and cut off more of Goku's feet so you don't lose as much of the hair. I'm making some screenshots now.

I don't understand that image with Gohan's head cropped off. The bottom part is cropped almost identically to Tanooki's mock up, but the top part isn't cropped as much. WTF?

Ya know, in those pictures, it doesn't look so terrible. Certainly not DragonBox. But it's not as god awful as I was expecting.

Nope, not at all. Looks pretty good, IMO. I need to see these in motion...
