SSGSS (both full and abbreviated) is still used on all merchandise "Blue" isn't used at all thankfully, it makes sense it was what was used for the promotion of Resurrection "F" so they couldn't really change it up, the anime was different as SSGSS was never said once at all.
I do agree these don't look too great.

I don't see Vegeta winning it at all tbh and I don't mind that either. I honestly see Goku, and possibly Gohan and Freeza outlasting him. I don't see Vegeta going out early though. Vegeta is probably going as far as to fight Jiren at some point and get stomped by him.

Considering that Dragon Ball Heroes shows us the three finale fighters of the ToP, I doubt that Freeza's being eliminated before Vegeta is or getting stomped by Jiren. Most likely scenario considering the theme of team work they've been pushing the entire ToP is that both Goku and Freeza team up to beat Jiren. Of course, both Freeza and Vegeta could be stomped by Jiren to showcase his overwhelming power.

Vegeta needs to have a really decent moment in the Tournament.

To lose to Brianne without doing anything relevant (he defeated U9, but that's not even close to its importance for the series) would totally rule out the character.
He does not have to be defeated for other characters to stand out.

If he defeats Toppo or Hitto it's already good

Nope. God ki has nothing to do with the power of SSG/SSGSS, the Saiyans just have god ki in these forms. SS Goku with SSG power back in BoG arc was as strong as SSG, yet he didn't have god ki. Neither does it do anything special for the Hakaishin, they are just really strong guys who later became Hakaishin. You didn't see Dende becoming strong enough to one-shot Super Vegetto back in Cell arc because he got god ki by becoming the Kami of Earth (and yes, he does have god ki because he could sense Beerus' ki).

The angels also don't seem to be that far from the Hakaishin, or at least in Universes 6 & 7. Toriyama had Whis & Beerus at 15 & 10 respectively, while Vados & Champa rival Whis & Beerus respectively, and so far this doesn't appear to have changed in the series.

Frieza's got his own subplot of underhandedly fucking over universe 7, teaming up with Frost and playing the gods against one another. Bringing him to get stomped to show how cool Jiren(and Goku by extension when he defeats him) is a pretty big waste of set up.

That's not to say he won't be stomped by Jiren though, because Super's absolutely perfected the art of creating character arcs that don't lead anywhere. In a better written narrative, Frieza's goals would prevent him from getting bitched prior to achieving them. Time will tell though.
