At this point I'm just curious as to what Goku and Vegeta will look like in real life. Their physical, facial characteristics I mean. I love Toriyama's art style partly because it's so different from the more realistic-looking series out there.

Other series can pull off the leap to real life easier; like this Bleach painting for example: http://idnar.deviantart.com/art/Kuchiki-Rukia-63711672

And now that I think of it I know there was someone a while back who linked to a cosplay of Goten where the hair was perfect (though it was a wig)

I also want to know what Funi has to say of all this. The VA's especially.

That's it. :3

At least it proves the hair can be done. I'd forgotten about it earlier.

*Remembers Spider-Man 3 where Harry smashes Peter through all the buildings*

And also, that scene in X-Men 2 where nightcrawler teleports everywhere (with orchestral music) was pure awesomeness, and I just know Dragonball Z can be done excellently.

Bleach already went live-action, and it's a pretty funny musical.

I'm against the movie, as I've always been, but since I already posted all my opinions the LAST DBZ movie thread, I won't take a big part in this one except to reiterate a few points.

* If they're expecting to pull of an epic feature that could appeal to a general American audience, DBZ is going to be "adapted" to the point it's unrecognizable, and may as well be another franchise. (I.E. Super Mario Bros)

* I'm just plain sick of 'adaption' movies and sequels, and it sounds like they're getting desperate in my opinion. Not every book or comic series needs a movie, and they sure as hell don't all need to be trilogies.

* I'll be pissed if it has an American cast. It's a Japanese series, for goodness sake! I'd much prefer if this movie were made there, and made available here with subs. Look at Death Note. I rather enjoyed that movie.

I hope they don't take it too seriously. I loved Bleach's musical, they didn't have to change the characters and it just plain pleased me as a fan. I wish they'd shift the focus to Dragonball if they had to make it, and lean on comedy rather a string of nonsensical, CGI-ridden sky brawls and threatening one-liners.

for some reason, if the DBZ movie ever came out, I have a feeling the trailer atleast would be similar to that XD.

I know one thing for sure, Jackie Chan will not participate in the DBZ movie. His schedule's extremely booked to be doing something like this. First of all, he's finishing "The Forbidden Kingdom", then, he's doing a movie called "The Shinjuku Incident" with director Derek Yee and he's got a CG movie to be completed in memory of the late director Edward Yang. Then, of course, you have the rumoured sequel to "Armour of God". More Hong Kong projects for Jackie Chan means more Jackie Chan related work for me. (I've helped Jackie out on a number of times for the production of the DVD release of his recent Hong Kong movies "The Myth" and "Rob-B-Hood".)

Whoever thought Jackie would be a shoo-in for Roshi must be on a high dosage of 'shrooms and is obviously oblivious to Asian cinema. If anyone were to play Master Roshi, it'd oughta be Wu Ma (he played that taoist priest in the 80s classic "A Chinese Ghost Story"). He's still alive, he's still kickin' and he has that Master Roshi look.

Anthony Wong's gotta fit in there somewhere. He's one of the most versatile actors out there. He's gone from playing psycho's in movies like "Ebola Syndrome" to gangsters in "Hard Boiled" and properly dressed police officers like in "Infernal Affairs". I can't say much for his portrayal of Bunta Fujiwara in the live-action "Initial D". He's just playing the role as scripted.

Donnie Yen would be a great Vegeta.

Heck, just do the viewers a favor and hire the cast & crew of "SPL" to do a proper Dragon Ball Z movie.
The world is your's.

Lol the chances of any of those people being a part of this movie are very low tinlunlau. I'm pretty sure Anthony Wong wouldn't be a part of something like this anyways, gotta think realistically there man :lol:

For those saying big name actors not being in this, you can't be one hundred percent certain for that. I mean, you never know what a large check can do to a person's judgement! :D

Definitely have to agree that Stephen Chow is the choice director. Too bad that it will never happen. ;.;

Ohh, I kinda hope they don't do that, at least not very much. Vejita I could definitely see doing that kind of thing in a fight when he needs to, but Goku... I just can't see Goku throwing a train car full of people at Vejita. If they were in an empty train yard or parking lot, it'd be more excusable... but it might not be as easy as it sounds to shift the battle over to that kind of place.

I just kinda hope they don't take that fight to the city in general. >_>

I'm with you on keeping the majority of the fighting in melee, though I think the ki attacks will end up being more important than just occasional things. I mean, if you think about it... just how many times does Goku use his Genki-dama in the series? I think he uses it on almost every big "boss" enem, barring Cell. (And even though Gohan and Cell's huge Kamehameha duel effectively replaces it there.) And yeah, there's Goku and Vejita's Kamehameha and Garlic Gun duel...

Geez, I hope $100 million is enough to handle all the special effects... at least all of the important ones... and still make for a good overall movie. o-o;
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

Then, explain why Anthony Wong is in the next "Mummy" flick with Brendan Fraser and Jet Li! He does do Hollywood productions on occasion and he speaks good English.

With the amount of time he puts in directing his movies? I'm sure even FOX will rush him out like crazy and he just signed an exclusive deal with Sony/Columbia Tri-Star. In other words, Stephen Chow is Sony's bitch now.

People in Hong Kong are still waiting for his next movie "CJ7". I can be pretty sure of it. Teaser posters are already hanging around Hong Kong as we speak.

I don't think they will attempt to make the actor's hair look like the characters. I'm sure they know that would look lame. :roll:

On a side note, I would like to see Bruce's music orchrestrated. It's something that has been bugging me.

If they bothered to orchestrate any of his music at all-- something I myself am just not seeing-- they would probably choose a single "best" piece that could be made into some type of recurring theme that plays throughout the movie. I could imagine them giving this sort of attention to SSJ3 Ascension, for example.

I highly doubt that they would adopt Faulcoler's entire score for the movie, though.

Well, Faulconer didn't do anything for the Saiya(ji)n saga, did he? Hmm... :idea:. I could though see something kind of building off of the season 3-5 Vegeta theme (The one that's bells and guitars) in a more orchestral less blowing your ears out way... that could be quite dramatic if done right.

So if filming is supposed to be wrapped up by next summer, (supposedly?), and post production takes who-knows-how-long, when, assuming everything goes as the current information suggests, can we expect to see trailers?
