Why does everyone want Green Scouters?
I don't understand why everyone wants green scouters. None of the particularly good characters ever wore green ones.
See:
Green Scouter
Raditz
Cui
Ginyu
Dudoria
Recoome
Burter
Jeice
Blue Freeza Soldier
Sauza
Bardock
Red Scouter
Vegeta
Freeza
Tellece
Blue Scouter
Nappa
Zarbon
Please forgive me if I've missed any (I went through the Sparking Meteor character list...yes I know I'm stupid)
But why is green so popular? Is it just the colour or what?

When Zarbon's Scouter breaks due to an elevated reading of Vegeta's combat strength, Dodoria cites it as a malfunction of the "older model" type. It could be that the green tint (like Dodoria's) signifies a newer, later model of Scouter, and from there it simply becomes a preference for everyone to want what's new.
Depending on how many battles those particular Scouters may have survived, I can see other people like Vegeta and Nappa choosing to hold onto their red/blue/whatever ones for sentimental reasons rather than upgrade. (Vegeta destroyed his in a fit of rage during his initial visit to Earth, a'course, though Nappa's Scouter is still sitting on the ground somewhere out there!)
Nothing is said in specific reference to model or type with regard to the other colors of Scouter (aside from Jheese's remark about red being "the latest model," but that's a dub-only line), but if I'm wrong on this then someone feel free to correct me.

Not me I'd rather have a red one, but where exactually can I get one though I remember seeing one in some sort of Japanese site as a collectable item (Along with a trunks capsule box and Goku's Power pole I which I think they were cosplay things)... but that was a very long time ago

You can find both the green (Bardock) Scouters and the red (Vegetta) Scouters herePrincessVegeta wrote:Not me I'd rather have a red one, but where exactually can I get one though I remember seeing one in some sort of Japanese site as a collectable item (Along with a trunks capsule box and Goku's Power pole I which I think they were cosplay things)... but that was a very long time ago
Is Vegetta the correct spelling? Some places spell it Vejita. I always thought it was Vegeta.

I don't think that any of the mock Scouters out there have a digital readout, but I know that the DragonBox versions have "communicator" (walkie-talkie) capability.

My preference is for red, but only because Episode 70 is the most nicely-animated that we ever see a Scouter.
Plus, Freeza just looks so badass when he puts it on while threatening the Namekian Grand Elder.

And also green is my favorite color.

Thanks. I was referring to AerosmithJerseymilk wrote:That just seems really funny with your current avatar. I mean it almost looks like Nappa is saying that. XDGodo wrote:Pink is my favorite color.
OnT: I wonder what the difference is, really.
Maybe the green ones are indeed older models. Maybe it was like that there wasn't any scouters left (not every soldier has them) so when Ginyu force were going to bring new scouters and equip themselves with them, they took the old models and gave Freeza the new ones.
