I'd much rather an original story, it'd be a nice little break in the ToP. Also I doubt the One Piece special would be a retelling considering they are just about to air a retelling special.FortuneSSJ wrote:This is not the right time to work on anything outside the Tournament but at least they were smart with the time slots.
Both TV Specials will be 1 hour long and will air on Dragon Ball Super/One Piece time slots, so no ToP for two weeks which is good for the production.
We could still have a situation where it's confirmed this where Karasawa and Shida have been and that's depressing. Especially Shida. I doubt that in 2 hours there won't something from him in there...
I would like these TV Specials turn out to be a quick retelling of everything that happened in both series since day one (In DB case, from DB to Super) to celebrate 100 episodes of DBS and One Piece 20th Anniversary. Seems a better thing to do than come out with another lame original plot for a crossover like the last one.
I don't think there's any reason to worry about this hurting Super in any way, we're getting a break in September and then the two week break due to these two specials, so at worst I would think we just go back to business as usual after the DB special. I'm also sure that this has been planned well enough that it won't rely on the Super main staff alone, so I don't think it'll do any damage. I don't think the end of this arc is in sight, I'm starting to think the arc won't end till December or January, so if this is where Karasawa and Shida have been we'd still have time for them to show up in the ToP, especially if Shida went straight from episode 95 to this special since that would likely mean he'd finish his work on it well before it even airs.
