I swear Goku's just doing this on purpose now, if he acts all guard up and powerful he'll get the Jiren treatment (like the first ep a character changed his mind in attacking him)

That's actually quite true..
Goku isn't something these level one's should be meddling with..
He has god ki.. if he wants, people will literally succumb to the pressure alone..

Pairing Goku off with Toppo would allay some of the grievance people have with his constant involvement in the episode to episode battles against all of the universes. If he's deadlocked against an opponent relatively close to his full power then he can't involve himself in the battles of others nor would those contestants feel all too inclined to jump into the fray once they see how dangerous it would be with the amount of power those two are emitting.

So it's an episode full of Goku and Toppo hugging in background while Tien struggles on screen..
Eeh, can't be very exciting..
I would much rather know how Goku escapes Toppo after knowing something like that is happening right now..

Can't underestimate something which has no estimate to being with..
That's what Goku is going with.. He has no expectations form them..
No need to be hyper alert or have no guard at all..
He can see what fighters are doing around him, he knows what direction he is talking..
And to seriously injure him one needs ti be god level at least, there aren't many here that can do that..
You can't use projectiles on Goku he will sense them, you can't do much when you grab him from behind either, he will simply go god and there's that..
Yes remember how he sensed Toppo blasting him?
And Toppo is god level, even him holding back should be more than enough to knock out an off guard base Goku but his plot armor is enough to keep him undamaged from the blast.

Seems like a popularity poll was released in Japan for anime characters I think. Goku topped the list and Gohan was top 20 among the younger generations.

It was number 1 strongest hero. Arela got 15 beating Gohan.

It does feel that way. Goku just provoked these kinds of reactions lately.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

For Heroines, Fujiko (Lupin III) was number one for Showa votes, and Nami was number one for Heisei votes.

Can anyone confirm if the episode's airing at noon instead or is it airing at its usual time?

No one's taking about this much so I don't know which one is true.

Find it interesting that Goku is most popular with women in their 30s and 40s. He's the the least popular with teenage women.

DBS twitter says it will start at 12, just checked my TV list and DBS was still at 9:00 tho (this could have been a surprise change thing so maybe they're just about to change the list)

Apparently it's only affecting one region others should start normally at 9am.

It's stupid. Goku was in the Krillin episode for one shot and that was it. He's one screen shot and people just flipping shit. Kinda a funny with this recent poll thingy. Goku is still super popular... As expected!

And some people still wonder why he gets so much screen time besides he being the main character and how cool a new series would be with the new generation as protagonists.
He's iconic and far above the ones like Naruto and Luffy. Going the Boruto route with Dragon Ball is not that simple.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

They tried it once and it didn't work  But speaking of which, Gohan made it into the top 20? Good for him! Shows that even with all the conferences and lack of big world-ending battles, he is still in fan's memories.
Is he then the only other DB character in the top 20?

Yup, Goku is as iconic as they come, don't see them taking him away from the limelight any time soon.

Wow, Gokû placed really well! I guess I don't have to worry about him being offed anytime soon after all.

I don't understand why people refer that Toriyama pushing Gohan to main character at the end of the Cell Saga and then going back to Goku means that it didn't work when the reason why Goku came back was not at all related to the lack of success of the series post change but solely because the writer after continuing the story decided that the type of story that he wanted DB to be was not in line with who Gohan was as a character and as a result Goku would be much more fitting which while I agree with, doesn't mean that the experience was a failure and that any try of something similar will be a complete failure.

The only problem that I have right now with the way the story is constructed is that everything is a result of Goku's hunger for stronger opponents. It's a crutch that has been getting increasingly more use and that as a result is turning Goku into a more dislikeable character due to certain actions that he has that aren't consistent with who the character was in the past and only occurs due to the need of a plot device to move the story foward.

Goku's position is pretty darn good and so is Gohan's, even after his long absence..
Goku sure is loved..
