Though him and Vegeta being forced to work together might be interesting. Always wanted to see less typical combinations, especially with Vegeta. The preview still showed him with Goku though, like exclusively :? Really getting tired of these two, their banter hasn't really been entertaining for a while now, and them joining forces has pretty much lost all its novelty.
Jump talked about it as a Gohan and Piccolo episode.
Yeah, read that. Thought maybe it was like a red herring thing and Tien is the dark horse of the episode. But preview shows it as a Vegeta and Goku episode. Don't know what to think.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Krillin was taken out too early in my opinion, especially since the tournament has gone beyond Namek arc levels in terms of time. We're not even halfway through the tournament yet.
But more than half of the fighters are out. It is possible that a winner will be named before time is up.

I'm honestly not sure why they had Krillin go out so early. Some assumed it was because of the VA, but Krillin still gets a lot of lines from the stands like in today's episode. It's really weird because the episode gap between Krillin losing and whoever the next U7 member to lose is quite large.

Nah I'm pretty sure he passed it in the "My Bulma" sequence.

Luffy's been
fighting Cracker every week in the seducing woods
lately so I wouldn't be surprised if Krillin got benched due to how busy Tanaka's been.
On hiatus.

Well folks tonight we learned Experience does really matter.

First how Roshi was manhandling Ganos like he was a rookie and just now Mayweather defeating McGregor by using his 20 year experience.

He's out early because he dropped his guard and didn't recover like Goku. Out of universe, because Toriyama wanted him out early.

After watching Mayweather vs. McGregor, I wonder how would be the Tenkaichi Budokai in the real world :D

But according to some in this forum, this boost was kept permanent (manga only)

Has Vegeta even used Super Saiyan 2 in the anime since that fight?

Same here man..
It was wonderful.. Goku actually crying and frantically trying to wake up a dead Roshi was unexpected, no tears here but I was pretty damn close to having some :|

Roshi has had the best fights of the tournament yet, haven't seen a real martial arts Dragonball fight in such a long time!

I made my thoughts known on that, so I aren't going there.

About the Roshi revival scene..
How should it be interpreted, as Goku giving his blue energy to Roshi for him to recover hence dropping out of blue..
Or as Goku giving up after giving it his all to revive Roshi but supposedly not succeeding..

I saw it as being similar to the first cooler movie where Goku goes SS and "revives" the bird..

EDIT: Ignore it, it's supposedly already been discussed a little while ago..

It's pretty damn rare when I talk about animation, but when I do, it's because tjere's something very wrong.

Shall we witness the return of the legendary episode 5 in the next episode?

Episode 5 was far from the worst animated episode of Super. That title belongs very safely to episode 24.

At worst, the first half of the episode will be complete crap, while the second should be at least serviceable with some iffy moments.

That's not animation, that's art...

I don't remember the retellings at all. Episode 5 is "fresh" in my mind due to its high popularity.

For reference, it's good thing that you don't remember the re-tellings, espicially the ROF arc, which was easily the second worst arc ever and was worst from an animation stand-point.

No. Even in the manga the only other time he used it was against Black.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
