Or that the kids that are watching dbs see Piccolo and Gohan in the episode and for some reason do not watch because Piccolo is there?

Its very interesting how you came to that kind of conclusion instead of opting for the logical reasoning, which is that ratings never stay high even if its Goku focused.
Mostly because they dont care about Gohan and Piccolo teaming up or fighting together, and Goku was barely present in that episode and in the Roshi episode.

Its the 2nd time already that Piccolo/Gohan did bad ratings(first their sparring episode and later episode 103), so dont be surprised if episode 106 also doesnt do good. Gohan is better fighting by himself.
Dude stop acting like your opinions are facts when in honesty you don't know what your talking about
I don't know why Piccolo would bring the ratings down when the episode was about Gohan and had his name in the title. The next episode preview for episode 106 has more Goku and Vegeta than Gohan and Piccolo.

All ratings have been low recently for some reason.

I think they're low partly because of summer vacation. We're at the tail end of it, and I don't think Japan's summer vacation is even that long. Isn't it just a few weeks in August?

This poll is interesting; people always say that Goten isn't popular but he's #6 which surprises me. Plus I'm guessing they count Present/Future Trunks as one which explains him at #4
This poll was done way back when the Buu arc was fresh-er then it was now coupled with the fact Goten looks and acts like Goku so it isn't that surprising. He is I think the worst character that Toriyama ever came up with, at least in EoZ Goten showed hints of being an actual character but sadly EoZ wasn't that long.

So you are saying that Piccolo despite being more popular than Roshi, being there with Gohan somehow brought him down?

So if episode 106 has low ratings that means its Piccolo's fault despite Goku and Vegeta being there?
So piccolo having his 15 second fight in episode 103 is what gave it low ratings?Despite Piccolo vs Frost having good ratings?
Do i need to point out the flaw in what you said more than i or Hero already did?

Or are you gonna say that the reason episode 34 had good ratings is because of Frost?

Unrelated! That history special that'll have samurai (or warlord?) Vegeta in it airs the first half at 6:45 pm on September 9th and the second half at 3:10 pm on September 10th, Japan time.

If I have my time zones right, that's 5:45 am on the 9th and 2:10 am on the 10th EST. A bit unwieldy of a start time for me, at least that first one, but if you're in Europe it should be easier.
Neat! I think I'll definitely watching these after the fact. Way too early in the AM for a history special I'll barely understand.

I'm also gonna try for after the fact. I could pull off 6:45 am, but 5:45 am is way too early for me. With part two, I should likely be asleep by 2:10, but if I'm not for some reason I'll check it out. Most likely I'll skip the live airings and put my hopes in someone capturing the footage overnight.

don't see anything Vegeta related in that link even translated. All i see related to DB is something called Dragon Ball Ultra under Animation Planning and a summary saying "A fun project where children can learn about history together with popular animation. Special animation that condenses each era in an easy-to-understand manner appears everywhere."
Zamasu is the best DB villain besides Freeza (and this is only the case because the current Super arc elevated Freeza to be that good).

Piccolo WAS popular, but in 2017, it looks like the japanese fans could care less about him, they buried him so much that its hard to get excited about Piccolo, the last straw was him being trolled in the U6 arc.

Goku and Vegeta might help the rating being above 4.5.

Piccolo vs Frost had good ratings due to the cliffhanger of episode 33, which was Goku being eliminated.

If Hero Academia beats DBS and or OP, someone is going to be the scapegoat

Wasnt there 2 polls when they released info of the ToP Universes? I remember one of the polls had Yamcha in first place, and also Yamcha was in the top 10 in DBH. One question was Who are your cheering on in the ToP? Goku was first place while, Gohan 17 were near the bottom.

Does anyone have the scans?

Frieza first, Goku second, Vegeta third, Piccolo fourth. Yamcha came first for character they wanted to see who was not in the tournament.

Asking only 99 people makes that poll irrelevant.

Writers greatly influence a character's popularity. If they (Toei/Toriyama) gave Piccolo a better role than just being Gohan's wingman, I think his popularity would definitely increase to what it used to be. There must be a reason why so many fans still love Piccolo.

Yeah, he was friggin' fantastic in Z. He was an amazing villain in DB too.

I just started watching random fights from the Android/Cell saga and I got to his first encounter with Cell. The sense of relevance his character used to have and the importance Toei gave his scenes....it makes me want to start gnawing on my keyboard in frustration when I see his role in Super. :(

He will always be pretty popular for this franchise, but yeah, if he keeps getting scraps things aren't looking great for him.

Thats true.

Take the saiyan girls for example, they are already popular among the japanese fans, also hyped in DBH ads. Most fans I've seen on the internet would rather have the saiyan girls get as much as focus as Goku because they are interesting and bring excitement to the franchise .

If Toriyama writes it Piccolo and Gohan are not as near to each other as they would be under Toei. In the Universe 6 arc Gohan was nowhere near Piccolo and in Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F movies he was not really near Gohan at all. Piccolo fans can see it is Toei and not Toriyama who does this thing.

Piccolo's popularity has not dropped at all however this Gohan and Piccolo thing needs to stop which mainly comes from Toei.

Just wait for the Universe 6 Namekians.

They are not interesting and bring nothing new to the franchise. They are just ordinary saiyans and the people who like them will like any Saiyan or they just like them because they are female Saiyans.
