Wait, so you cherry-pick only the episodes that suit your narrative, despite the fact that there are pre-tournament episodes with higher ratings (didn't the Krillin episode have the highest)?

Looking at the ratings for 100 and 101, I'd call Kale and Caulifla ratings killers at best, if you don't ignore the episodes that came before 97.
I was always talking about the episodes in the ToP, not the whole Universal Survival Saga, otherwise I would be talking about how much of a draw Freeza is because his 2 focused episodes did 6.0 and above.

Someone already mentioned it weeks ago that fans want to see the top tiers fighting already instead of having top tiers vs scrubs fight because it tends to be predictable.

Piccolo/Gohan episode did a 4.4, lower than the Kale/Caulifla episode and even Master Roshi, thats laughable.

Speculation and saying, "About the rumors" when those rumors don't really exist are two very different things. In a franchise that is plagued by false rumors, I completely get being angry. Those rumors from 2ch also haven't been confirmed to be fake either as that same poster suggested in another post (even though they probably are).
I get being angry. A profanity-laden shoutfest just seemed like a disproportionate response, is all. To me, anyway.

But, I'm not familiar with the history of emperior when it comes to rumors. So maybe Baggie_Saiyan hit a breaking point.
That was a little too much of a reaction, considering my post was just speculating whether or not they should start a new show if they ever intend to go after EoZ. If someone feels angry about a post, he can always ignore it, or calmly reply his bad feelings with my post or with rumours and whatnot.
Super will eventually end, but Dragon Ball stories are quite obviously still not over and won't be for quite a long time in my opinion, and with all the references we are getting about Uub in the anime, and EoZ in general by Toyotaro, I have the feeling we are getting really close to the end of the manga. I would love for Toriyama to get past it just because I feel like having an already established ending is holding Super back.
The Blu-Ray box having 1 more episode than usual could mean that either that 133 wraps the end of an arc or that 133 is a episode before the beginning of a new main arc/timeskip/whatever. It could also be an error for all we know and that blu ray box is supposed to only go to episode 132. But it can also mean for some reason they want to end Super to start a new Dragon Ball show, maybe to plan it better than Super.

Update, those times I posted are actually the start and end time of the special, not two individual times.

Good luck to those wishing to catch the animated clips live. Unless they mention when during the 27 hours they are it'd be difficult. I won't be trying this.

I know but mind explaining
Firstly, just wanna make it clear they do matter to a certain extent. Toei is paying good money to have a time slot for Super, but where do they get that money from? Merchandise amongst other things.

Secondly, there's a chart floating around that shows the overall Dragon Ball brand has almost tripled its profits since 2 years ago. Super can get Boruto levels of ratings and still remain on the air, as long as the cash keeps flowing in.

He is strong but I do think Jiren and Goku will be going out during that special or just after.

It doesn't make much sense to watch 27 hours of japanese documentary unless they put english subs or you can understand the language. As for Dragon Ball scenes, I doubt there will be many and they will probably be uploaded soon after the documentary ends.

That's why I'm not giving it a try. It's just too unwieldy of a program.

I'm sure others will though, so I'll see the character designs that way.

Very true. Cable television could be extinct within the next few decades or possibly sooner just like the days of renting movies and videos games; and using my VCR too. For example, companies that weren't willing to adapt to the rapidly changing environment like Blockbuster got killed by Netflix.

Outside of live sports events or news, most people don't watch cable TV anymore. But I think most people are surprised at the quick downturn of the ratings of these Anime shows since your points you mentioned were already trending a couple years ago or even a year ago when the Trunks arc was doing well. Japan is also under threat right now by NK so the stress level of its citizens could be high.

Your points are on the money and I agree wholeheartedly but I think this discussion inevitably and in an immature way for some other posters leads to character popularity debates, which isn't necessary.

I did say just after but this is way too early and there surely must be something else going.

Dragonball hardly ever has fights going on at the same where they cut between them so I think this fights ends with 1 or both out or they stop and continue again later but if they stop, the question is why.

I'm still highly, highly doubtful of the tournament ending with a winner normally, I feel something like either a draw or an interruption will happen

It's like Toei is trying to age up Trunks but can't fully commit to it and Goten's just kinda stagnating.

Since their height is already a problem, this just adds a little more to the mess, because... Why not messing a little bit more, huh? :lolno:

I think part of the problem is nobody with actual influence when it comes to Super cares about Goten or Trunks. If one of the higher ups liked them enough the way someone up there likes Krillin, Gohan, or Roshi, then maybe we'd actually get updated, age-appropriate designs at bare minimum.

The only one who decides when Goten and Trunks will grow up is Toriyama. Ever since Jaco he has decided Saiyans stay children for many years, to deceive their enemies, until they get a sudden growth spurt.

Maybe that's why Vegeta hit a growth spurt after Namek. Saiyan Second Puberty.

I mean, looking like a kid did work to Goku's advantage... Gohan is kind of a weird example. In the Cell Games he was drawn with a lean muscular body and looked like an adolescent during his fight with Cell...but then he's drawn next to Krillin at the end and they're the same height and really tiny.
