I completely agree here.Shaqazooloo wrote:Has the Goku and Vegeta team up become... boring to anyone else? I feel like it's just become tired and repetitive. It's stop being something special and dynamic and is now just predictable to me. The episode hasn't aired yet but i'm positive 106 is gonna end with them doing the Galick Gun Kamahamaha combo. It's a very predictable and boring finish.
I don't even think the dialogue between Goku and Vegeta has been that good lately either. It would be awesome if they would replace Goku or Vegeta with Freeza and have him team up to take out a major threat. Atleast it would be something fresh...

Goku and Vegeta spent 3 years training exclusively with each other and an additional four months with Beerus and Whis. It's be pretty bad for their character development if they were still so quarrelsome with each other after that.

I have a hope and feeling that with this episode, 106, that is seamlessly being a homage to the 1st Predator sci-fi movie from the 1980's that the Moment with the tag team beam will be a homage to when Schwarzenegger's team unloaded allot of ammo with all their guns into the jungle and as the famous quote from the movie goes;Shaqazooloo wrote:Has the Goku and Vegeta team up become... boring to anyone else? I seem to remember thats exactly what fans wanted in the Z era.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not sure what they (Toei, Shueisha) want Vegeta to be this arc. I'm still enjoying Gokû, still enjoy seeing him and Vegeta interacting, but which Vegeta this will be is the question.

When it's 90% of what we've had, yeah it's boring. All i'm asking is for some variety. That Goku/Hit team up was cool even though Goku had no real place in the fightTotamo wrote:[

They can't exactly kick out Vegeta from this so there he is, just existing and doing stuff sometimes..Chuquita wrote:I'm not sure what they (Toei, Shueisha) want Vegeta to be this arc. His personality even though is made entertaining again, freeza completely overshadows any need for that this arc..

His interaction with Freeza could be one of the high-lights of the arc, but we have yet to see anything more substantial than Vegeta sneering at him.Ki Breaker wrote: They can't exactly kick out Vegeta form this so there he is, just existing and doing stuff sometimes..

IMO they're sitting on a gold mine having these two forced to be on the same side, but I can already see them fixing Freeza up with Goku.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I think the cons of Vegeta are starting to show & why he's a boring character, Goku is limitless. Vegeta's been developed in the way he is what he is now. How he's written in the ToP so far is what I expect, otherwise you fall into the trap of completely writing him like a dick he was in the Cell arc (cough cough Toyotaro). Him wanting to be the last one standing is a personal milestone for him to achieve, just because he's accepted Goku being number 1 doesn't mean he isn't gonna stop aiming to beat him (something a number of fans misunderstand, Vegeta admitting was just a step into his development).Chuquita wrote:I'm not sure what they (Toei, Shueisha) want Vegeta to be this arc. Vegeta has had the second most amount of screentime and is even with Goku in KO's.namekiansaiyan wrote:There is only 1 main character and that is Goku.Totamo wrote:The two main characters teaming up to take on main threats is boring to you....Dbzfan94 wrote:

Trust me, i know this fanbase like the back of my hand. They don't know what they want or what could possible happen for us to get it.
Look at female super saiyans. Most wanted that but forgot the fact that super saiyan is a joke now and toriyama retconned how to get it in the Cell saga for everyone to get it.
You would all say the same thing: Goku and Vegeta don't need to team up with them, the others are 2 weak and cry about fake tension or because if they nerf them say they only go to super saiyan, you would cry they are not respecting the characters and cry disrespect or if the 2 do go all out, they will oversahdow them, you will cry why did the bother bringing them in the first place.
Because there is no way you can have a Roshi and Goku teamup, it not have people bitch about it. Hell, most bitch about Roshi for the exact reason.

Yes that is exactly point. I am one of them who is still bitching about Roshi taking part in this tournament based on showdown we aready experiences and watched even with rules of tournament which should excuse him.Totamo wrote:Trust me, i know this fanbase like the back of my hand. Yes, I am glad Roshi is back and they showed little love to his character(and I only agreed after his episode delivered). For me second place from bottom for the worst universe which was determined by mortal level. However based on that, it was hinted that it may have something with power level of average besides other stuff.
Which means to me, Roshi should have only outsmarted, suprised with variations of techniques with suprise opponent. also he should use battle expierience along with advantage of other stronger characters of tournament forced to hold back, giving him edge in battle. Statements should be also consistent with feats. Like this:
average u9 < average u7 < average other universes.
Moreover while Roshi's relationship with his students getting great moment was nicely done, it felt forced as goku was portrayed as (in human) in this arc, his Saiyan side was shown up as whole. If dbs wanted to stay consistent then goku wouldn't react as that, instead he would be like "oh no..., Nevermind, we are one memeber less". That why I felt like it was fanservice and forced nostalgia feelings on fans.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Actually yes it really is. We've seen Goku and Vegeta several damn times in Super. At first it was a good thing because we hadn't seen a lot of it in Z. But now Super has shown us more than enough their chemistry that it's become really dull.Totamo wrote:The two main characters teaming up to take on main threats is boring to you....Dbzfan94 wrote:Not the quarrelsome; just them two always the ones to team up for stuff.BlueBasilisk wrote:Goku and Vegeta spent 3 years training exclusively with each other and an additional four months with Beerus and Whis. How about Piccolo and Vegeta? We've never had them work together? Or Tenshinhan and Vegeta. Gohan and Vegeta? What about Goku and Piccolo, we haven't seen that in a very long time. We've had so many basic team ups that they're not very interesting. Hit and Goku is the closest to an interesting one we've had. I for one have had enough of Gohan and Piccolo, and Goku & Vegeta. We've seen that too much now. It was cool at first, but let's spice things up instead of chaining them down to each other too often.

Piccolo and Goku worked together and it ended with a hole in Goku's chest.

Hit and Goku did not actually team up,they just took on an opponent each and then changed their opponents once.dbzfan7 wrote:Actually yes it really is. Also Gohan and Piccolo did not team up either outside of that team attack in episode 97,they just stick close to each while they take on their opponents individually.
But yeah i agree that we need other team ups.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
You can easily write a story around Vegeta working with someone else. We don't have to be closed minded to him only being with Goku. This is a battle royale, we can have a multitude of possibilities instead of just balls and chains.Totamo wrote:Vegeta would never work with anyone weaker than him unless he had absolutely no choice. I don't think that'll happen again...remember no killing allowed in the tournament XP.
Yeah when I say team up, I more or less mean have their chemistry bounce off one another. We've mostly had everyone in their comfort zones, which I hope is shaken up soon. Gohan is always with Piccolo. Vegeta is alone but when he is with someone it's Goku. 17 and 18, etc. I mean some reunions are cool, but we gotta spice it up is all. Explore characters playing off of interactions they don't normally do. Hell having Freeza with Roshi even for a little bit would be interesting considering it's never happened before.Whatever wrote:Hit and Goku did not actually team up,they just took on an opponent each and then changed their opponents once.dbzfan7 wrote:Actually yes it really is.
