And goddamn Frost looks awesome.
Theory time. What if he will redirect the Mafuba towards Vegeta surprising him?
Damn U7 is so op they are even taking out their own teamates, would it count as Frost's or Roshi's elimination?
It would be hilarious for sure.

I think he meant Super as a whole not just this tournament.
Yes, that's what I said. They've only worked together four times in Super. Twice in the Zamasu Arc and Twice in the Tournament of Power.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

Could somebody please explain to me what will happen with those TV specials I keep hearing people mention? Is there going to be a DBS special in September and October? Is Goku's fight with Jiren going to be in a Special? What exactly is the deal here?

Next week there's a special about the history of Japan, which will have some animated parts with DBS characters, and also from One Piece and some others, but nothing actually related to the story of DBS.
Then in october there's the actual DBS special, which will be "at the climax of the tournament", but we don't really know if it's just a double episode or a different story.

Hmm, but this is odd ... there's going to be a two-week break now, right? Which means next DBS episode is around the 24th of September. Which means that after three episodes, the TV special will air - isn't it going to air around the 9th of October?
So, if the Special is about the fight with Goku and Jiren and Goku's new transformation ... but we still having about 35 fighters on the stage ... it ... it doesn't add up. If it's ToP related, that is.

iirc it's only one week break, so next episode is on the 17th. Then there's an episode on the 24th too, then there won't be an episode on the 1st because of the One Piece special.

I wouldn't like it, but I could easily see Gohan fighting the Namekians with Piccolo. Piccolo really isn't all that special anymore. He's in that awkward space between the really irrelevant guys, and the top characters. I'm more inclined to believe they'd give Gohan a good showing when he fights on his own than I am to believe that Piccolo won't sacrifice himself for Gohan. I don't want that, it's an old and very tired out meme at this point and it lessens my opinion of both characters whenever I see it happen.
I am confident that in Toriyama's script there is a big fight for Piccolo and Toei can't do anything about it. I wouldn't be surprised if the Gohan and Piccolo bit today was nearly all made up by Toei.
Define big, because what you find big I don't. Goku VS Jiren I'd say is a big fight, I don't see Piccolo having a fight of that level in this saga at all.
Piccolo vs the Namekians is big to me due to the potential it could have and becuasr we know Goku vs Jiren is happening very soon.

The special is a turning point in the tournament on the way to the actual climax.

Episode made Piccolo a complete joke.
It is Toei who think Piccolo losinh his arm created tension. The blast actually knocked out Dr Rota whereas it did not Piccolo and Gohan would have been finished if Piccolo did not do what he did.

To be fair, they may not be completely wrong about 'on the way to the climax'. I used this example several times, it's like how how the battle with Merged Zamasu was the start of the climax of the Future Trunks Saga with the actual climax being Future Trunks slicing Merged Zamasu. Using an example from Z, Gohan going Super Saiyan 2 against Cell was the start of the climax with the actual climax being Super Saiyan 2 Gohan killing Cell.
In other words, it could be several episodes and stuff that happens in-between before the actual climax.
Unless, I misread your post.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

I really doubt that, the trailer wasnt being misleading, it was talking about what the special is all about, that its the climax decisive battle of the ToP, unless we go deep like how there were misleading summaries like the ep 90 mentioning Tien has some unique techniques or the Krillin one being DQ'd.

You are basically saying that the tournament will end during the special which seems very unlikely.

Maybe one or two more episodes to clean up the mess but the special should be it..

Goku, Vegeta, Freeza, Gohan & Piccolo still haven't showed anything special and Roshi and the 2 androids are still in so for them to end it soon (as in anytime before January) will lead to everything being very rushed. That'll be like what happened at the end of Zamasu's arc where multiple big events happened in just 2 episodes while they were wasting time in previous ones that could've been used for those events.
I guess it'll be the manga's job to clean up the anime's mess AGAIN.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Say what you want about it but at least it didn't rush everything like the anime did. You may not like what it does and that's fine but it gives each plot point enough time to breath and have an impact.

Hopefully none of them are. Spoiling the whole plot like that would be the worst thing they could do. I guess that'll be another thing the manga can fix by changing the order.

If people can't get it on Youtube they will from somewhere else so I don't know why they bother.

It being the climax doesnt mean its the end (tho most of the time that may be the case) just that its the biggest fight, like U6 arc, Hit V Goku was the climax battle, Monaka V Hit ended it.
