Re: Super Episode 106 (3 September 2017)
This episode was garbage and very boring. First of all, this should have been a Tenshinhan episode where he would engage in close battle with Hermila and the blob of shit and obviously beat them with his 3 eyes ability to locate attacks, instead we got a boring piece of shit, where Hermila and Prun work as a duo to beat their enemies from long distance. It was really bad and stupid to see Piccolo struggling so much to grow his arms twice and again with the bullshit about letting his guard down?
It was a bye bye for Tenshinhan as a character and a terrible one.

Complete garbage. Nothing redeemable about it from start to finish. People are more interested in making jokes about the fodder character than Tien. That's how little we all cared about the episode. This episode was garbage and very boring.
Can someone tell me who wrote this episode? So I know when to never watch another episode written by them. They need to be blacklisted from this show.

I don't see how they made Piccolo look bad here, he was anything but. Gohan's is just a faux fighter so it makes sense he would be portrayed like a dumb child needing hand holding, I mean that is the only reason he beat Cell afterall.kinisking wrote:Toei really tries hard to push the student teacher relationship between Piccolo and Gohan but they end up making both of them look bad. You crack me up. My stomach hurts. Great review about the episode.MajinMan wrote:If they wanted it to be less dumb, they should've said that the reflect guy could have reflected all types of attacks instead of just ki. And then when the Pig hugged him, they should've shot the Pig to elimate the reflect guy without touching him like they did in the episode. But throwing rocks is apparently the way to go these days. Though I will admit that I thought it was pretty funny that at the end of the episode Goku was just standing there and holding a rock, while Vegeta eliminated the two opponents.RafaelLeon wrote:My thoughts exactly. I liked the premise of having a more distinctive fight in the tournament, but damn that was dumb writing. Seeing Goku, the guy who uses Instant Transmission to move 2 yards, running towards open fire was just ridiculous.MajinMan wrote:Very boring. I liked the joke with not knowing Dr. Piggies technique and when Ten took down the sniper with him. Everything else was either dull or dumb. Goku and Vegeta were throwing rocks at the reflect guy, but why couldn't they just rush him? He deflected ki, not physical attacks as far as we can tell. Gohan and Piccolo getting targeted was cool, but they didn't do anything to retaliate. Piccolo lost his arms THREE times. Like, why do his arms keep getting ripped off?
This is the worst episode of the tournament of power so far. Dumb fights, boring stalling, and Piccolo torture porn.
3/10.

This isn't the worst episode from the tournament just because that Kale episode (unfortunately) exists.
EDIT: Actually, I don't think this episode looks that bad. I like Shimanuki's artstyle way more than most animators...

Not 101, but 100. 101 was okayish, but 100 was one of the worst episodes imo.RedHeat wrote:Episode 101 was a sad day for power scaler's, indeed. For some reason he likes forced moments when it comes to character interactions.
Piccolo saving Gohan as homage for that Z moment, Kale controlling Berserk mode out of nowhere.
Re: Super Episode 106 (3 September 2017)
Well it's not just Gohan. You can find various moments where Goku would have been killed or defeated without the intervention of others -- examples include Chun using his hypnosis on Goku which required Bulma verbally stimulating him with the prospect of food to get him up in time, Blue becoming comically disoriented because of a vermin as he was on the brink of killing Goku, Upa clarifying to Goku what Tao had just thrown at them, Goku stealing Roshi's sunglasses during a tournament proctored fight, Tenshinhan rescuing him with his Bukujutsu against Daimao, and then don't forget all the moments sprinkled throughout Z where Goku would have been killed had someone not intervened on time.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I don't see how they made Piccolo look bad here, he was anything but. If it wasn't for convenient misfiring this episode, Vegeta's head may have been shot off. So I'm not too critical of Gohan's seeming incompetency because others can be just as culpable as he was.

Piccolo was not bad but it is annoying becuase Toei is yet again having him protecting Gohan instead of attacking opponents and actually getting knockouts.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I don't see how they made Piccolo look bad here, he was anything but. Piccolo has been involved in the least amount of eliminations(1) from Universe 7 and that was just the Hellzone Grenade.

Is his opinion, through that episodes is one of my favorite, along with 99,102,104 with 104 being my favorite ,the highlights of this otherwise boring tournament,it just baffles me that AT thought this was a good ideaShinda Forever wrote:You mean 104.Fresh Prince wrote:Crack Theory:

Re: Super Episode 106 (3 September 2017)
This episode was full of good intentions, unfortunately the action and the writing didn't perform.
Gohan and Piccolo were fine, it's believable that they would be blocked by the sniper. Piccolo showed his great perception and intelligence. Gohan had to be carried around like a child, I wonder if that was a little too much.
Tenshinhan, I'm very disappointed by his contribution. Whoever wrote this episode did a poor job. They grabbed the Kikoho, his great eyesight and the clone technique and meshed it all together to poor effect. His opponent not being disable was obviously a lie, they couldn't fool anyone.
Him sacrificing himself to take out the opponent is fine and all, it just didn't carry any weight like last week with Kame-Sennin.
I'm very sad this was all Tenshinhan offered at the tournament. Let's see what Toyotarõ does.
Goku and Vegeta..., why did they need to participate in this fight? Their opponent can deflect ki blasts, how about using your fists? Someone didn't think the scene through.
Prum and Hermila, they were fine. The idea itself is great, unfortunately it only really had one phase. The moment they were discovered they logically should have been defeated. It needed one more twist to feel fully like a threat, either that or just don't have them discovered so soon.
Overall it wasn't the greatest episode, it also wasn't the worst. Ultimately it will be forgotten.

I forgot that moment, Goku/vegeta could have beated this dumbass in their super saiyan form with their fist & they didn't use because Goku & vegeta have too many transformation here, get rid of the golden haired form & keep base, ssg & ssb with some of them having actual drawbacksLightBing wrote:This episode was full of good intentions, unfortunately the action and the writing didn't perform.

Interesting. Episode 101 was another episode that I found wasn't terrible, yet it contained a lot of writing flaws/inconsistencies. I'll have to keep my eye on this guy, as he seems to be one of the weak links thus far when it comes to writing in Super.perucho1990 wrote:Hiroshi Yamaguchi, he wrote episode 101 which was the Pride Troopers episode

If he can reflect ki blasts, i'm assuming that, much like how Buyon's power work, any punches and kicks will just bounce off of him.The gr wrote:I forgot that moment, Goku/vegeta could have beated this dumbass in their super saiyan form with their fist & they didn't use because Goku & vegeta have too many transformation here, get rid of the golden haired form & keep base, ssg & ssb with some of them having actual drawbacksLightBing wrote:This episode was full of good intentions, unfortunately the action and the writing didn't perform.

It really look like his body only deflect ki because he was nervous that Hermila & the saiyan wasn't shotting his body with ki blastLord Beerus wrote: If he can reflect ki blasts, i'm assuming that, much like how Buyon's power work, any punches and kicks will just bounce off of him.
