They did update some of the character designs for the arc. I noticed it back when they first uploaded the images on Toei's website. Hit and Frost were notably improved. Helles also got a pretty goid revamp about the same time. You shoukd be able to find the old art on the characters' respective DB wiki pages

All I'm finding is the original Toriyama art, not Yamamuro's designs from the Champa arc.

Weird that Yamamuro updated first form Frost when he only shows up in the opening (and that bit even got cut), hopefully we see him in that form again sometime in the future, I like how it looks and it'd be nice for the updated design to actually see some use. I wonder if he updated Assault form Frost as well.
Kinda makes me wonder if Goku and Vegeta's designs have been updated but we just haven't seen the sheets.

I'm assuming all of the info we've gotten so far is from 109, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was Manabe. With the time between episodes he might be able to finally go wild, so that'd be awesome.

it seems like yamamuro's composition has got a lot better, if even just on a small scale like this, that new goku really looks like a single piece, rather than a bunch of features pasted together, which was the vibe the RoF promotional art gave me (obviously not literally)

I really hope so. He already gave us some cool stuff, but now with the time he had and the fact that his next episode will be the "Special", I'm expecting something more.

Yea we are still an entire month away from it, which is a lot of time for corrections and last minute stuff. Knowing Super we won't see anything new until 1-2 weeks before the special.

EDIT: Wanna play a little, so I'm gonna try to guess the staff list of 110, since I believe it is the most important episode of the two...

Scenario: King Ryu - He's always the one writing big and important episodes, because he perfectly know how to write a Dragon Ball episode. He even wrote the Future Trunks Edition of the Resurrection of 'F' movie, and I honestly thought he would write 109 and 110 but well...

Art Direction: Bun-sun Lee - An easy one. He did 66, 70, 74, 78, 82, 86, 90, 94, 98, 102,106, and obviously he will be in 110 since he's working on every 4 episodes.

Animation Directors: Yuichi Karasawa and Koji Nashizawa - I wanna dream for Karasawa, his work on 106 was soooo rough, he can't be doing nothing else...

Director: Masato Mitsuka - Either him, or Akio Yamaguchi, but Mitsuka's direction is sooo strong i wanna see him here.

So we've got Tate, Manabe, Shida, and probably Takahashi making an appearance. That's unbelievably exciting actually. All my negativity has been washed away by this new list.

This special's staff is lowkey stacked. Trying to contain my excitement now.

Mitsuka Misato directed Episode #94, by the way. I expect we'll get something at least as good as #94-95, but that's about it, unless Ootsuka Ken and some others hop into the project.

"Only" 8 weeks for Tate though, hopefully he doesn't have to carry his half of 110.
I'm honestly surprised Yamamuro isn't doing any supervision, but he'll probably still animate.

Since we're entering the "climax" of the tournamant I'm guessing most of the episodes beyond 110 will be from Tomioka, assuming the climax isn't a full cour or something.
