I'm surprised at the last one, since you think Kelamis is the best English Goku.

I never found his Kai voice for Vegeta that deep, at least not compared to his Z voice, which was too gruff and too forced. His Yamcha voice on the other hand is kind of deep. Even though he doesn't completely sound like a surfer anymore, I still get some surfer vibes.
Yes in Kai dub he's fine still not the ideal English Vegeta and His Yamucha is bad.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Yuri Lowenthal the English voice of Sasuke Uchiha Can work pretty well since his voice pitch is similar to not only Sugiyama's but even Kusao too.

Oh, Lowenthal would absolutely would knock it out of the park as Future Trunks. He could also be a pretty good Goku. He actually voiced him in the Dragon Ball Evolution game.

The Bang Zoom version of Mr Kaio (That's what I call King Kai)

And I do agree that Yuri Lowenthal would've been a great choice for Future Trunks

IMO, they had good direction in the three movies Ocean dubbed. To me, it's a pity Ocean never dubbed the rest of the movies. Would have been great to see what their takes on Lord Slug, Cooler, Broly and Bojack.

I actually liked Malaysian Cooler's (a.k.a. "Kurara/Kurala") voice in the Speedy dub.

Not for its quality, but for its comic value.

I'd say that Goku's Malaysian voice is pretty decent enough.
DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...

My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid. :P

I like Brian Drummond's take on Vegito. he is the voice I always wanted for the character.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

He's the closest anyone's ever got, and he absolutely nailed the screams, but I think his speaking voice could have done with a bit of work. I think Kelamis sounded a little too lighthearted, and should have toned it down a little; perhaps not to the extent of being as calm or cool as Kirby Morrow, Ian Corlett, or Sean Schemmel, but if we could get Kelamis back, but with a speaking voice a little more like MasakoX(As in, a little more relaxed and natural, but still with the high, joyful, Spongebob-esque tone), I think that might be quite something.

Ultimately, I think any new Gokus need to take notes on Masako Nozawa's Goku. Naturally, no one's going to sound exactly like her, but as long as they get the spirit right, that's good. Scott McNeil got it basically perfect for Piccolo, Laara Sadiq did the same for Chichi... There's gotta be someone out there who can do it for Goku.
Ripper 30 wrote:Yes in Kai dub he's fine still not the ideal English Vegeta and His Yamucha is bad.
Agreed, although I'd go further; IMO, his Vegeta is merely okay, with some pretty good moments, his Yamcha is bad, and his Piccolo ranges from really disappointing to pretty decent.
Honestly, I'm just not a fan of Sabat's voices in general. No offense to the man himself; he's an awesome guy, and he's doing a great job as a director, and I do actually enjoy his Jeice for what it is, but I think they should have shopped around a little more when searching for new Vegeta and Piccolo voices in '99.

Agreed. He's awesome, and if/when Ocean do Boo Kai, I hope they stick with Drummond's single-voice approach. :D
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Kind of a shame they couldn't get Kelamis for Ocean Kai, since he would have knocked it out of the park this time around with years of experience. But I'm eager to see what Richard Ian Cox does with the role. He's likely going to be the best Ocean Goku voice.

I thought he was pretty good as Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist and All Might in My Hero Academia. I think Sabat's doing great nowadays with the exception of Yamcha and Recoome, but Horikawa and Furukawa are so much better.

It's the Ocean group, so I'm confident he'll be incredible. Dunno if he'll be the best, but I guess we'll see if/when it airs. :)

I don't watch dubs usually. Ocean dubs are often the exception, but generally I stick to subs. So, I don't really hear much of Sabat's work outside of what I've seen in the past watching Dragon Ball.

I personally think his Non Dragon Ball roles are much better than his Dragon Ball roles where he sounds kinda unnatural and stiff at times.

I agree with you on that one that he's much better in his non-DB roles.

While they don't have the best scripts or direction, I find that Big Green Roshi and Kaio have better voices than Funimation Roshi and Kaio, who sound more like parodies. They're not perfect, though.

Posted here back in January, but Brain Drummond and Scott McNeil, are both my favorite (English) voices for Vegeta and Piccolo. I don't hate Sabat in either of those roles, but I think both Drummond and McNeil just nailed the characters.
