I think he'd be able to hurt Nam. Not beat Nam, but hurt him at least.kaioken12 wrote:I have a question:

I mean, he of course he was weak, but it seems he wasn't the weakest person on earth - he won a tournament somehow.
Wouldn't he be able to at least punch some dragon ball characters (e.g. Nam), as they are weaker than dbz characters like for example Cell?

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Yes because the DRagonball characters could not fly. It made using those characters a challenge. There are at least 40 guys in the game who can fly at super speed, use one of them. I want to use Roshi abd Namu in hopeless battles with the Ginyu Force. If I want to have super speed in flight battles, I have other options.Wait... you're disappointed about the game being more balanced? One of the major complaints of the previous game(s?) was that certain characters couldn't actually "fly"... especially Mr. Satan, who had a fucking jetpack!

Yeah, those are the two that I remembered as well. But I couldn't think of any other characters. I was trying to think of ones that wouldn't be limping like that as a possible reference to a scene in the series (Teen Gohan probably had it as a reference to getting blasted by Cell while protecting Vegeta, and Vegeta probably had it for the reason you mentioned).Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:I know for a fact Teen Gohan does it. It's not a challenge; it's poor balance. And, by that logic, it should be a challenge for Chaozu to compete with Cell, but it won't be, just because they can both fly.Victator Supreme wrote:Yes because the DRagonball characters could not fly. Characters were given creative methods of flight to balance them with everyone that can fly naturally, like Satan's jetpack which was introduced in the Dimps games, but Neo completely destroyed that balance with all the random falling. Thus, Satan vs 18 ends up as the hardest (required) fight in the story mode, which is stupid, especially since in the series, she lets him win. It should be one of the easiest fights, if anything.
I don't think they would have changed it if it weren't recognized as a problem. But rather than just giving everyone Bukuujutsu, I think they should have just used the more creative things like the jetpack or Gokuu's tail helicopter, and new things like maybe giving Chichi Kintoun, but not have them fall this time.

Lezee...
Namu can jump really high. There's Kento'un... And... Blue has ... that... rocket thing he used to fly away from Kamehouse.
Roshi and Gohan are kinda screwed, though. ZBut even then things are changed considerably.
(DB Goku used Kento'un in Ultimate Battle 22... why not Sparking?)
(Well, the Non-flying characters (KameSen'nin and Mr. Satan) couldn't fly in UB22, but that doesn't make quite so big a difference in that game...).

In BT1 at least it was just pages of text... and that's all. But I got a walkthrough from gamefaqs... which goes in depth on some things, but leaves out quite a few things (especially defensive maneuvers... ok, combos are cool and all, but... umm... what else?).Maphisto86 wrote: I'm sure the training in the game will deal with that caejones. I really do hope that they give you an option whether you want DB characters to fly or not. I like the non-flying, especially being caught in a combo at mid-air. But Mr Satan is different, you have a jetpack and you can't even fly, WTF? Mr Satan is so rich but can't even good jetpack, if they don't want him to fly, take out the jetpack. And on Mr Satan, do you think he should get some better alternative costumes?

While we wait for the game's release, we can play "find the character" with this.

A villain vs heroes wallpaper, nice find kvon. There all the characters in there, with transformation, amazing job but Arale and Blue seems so last minute that it makes me sad. And kvon, KHI?

Do you mean you can't find Blue or Arale? They're in there alright, but they're way too small to spot at first glance. And they're probably small due to the last minute addition. And yes, I visit KHI quite often.gohanku wrote:A villain vs heroes wallpaper, nice find kvon. That's the best thing Spike's done in BT3 right there. Broken games are not fun. And the characters falling like that was broken. As I've said before, if they don't want them to fly they should remove all things that require them to fly. Cut out the levels with no ground, stop characters from defaulting to flying when they attack, and remove the tournament ring. And then make it so that they don't hover, they just jump. That wouldn't bother me. But what they did in BT2 was stupid and completely destroyed the game mechanics when using one or more of them. I didn't use the DB characters nearly as often in BT2 as I did in BT1 for that very reason. I'll use them relgiously in BT3, though.Humpski wrote:Dragonball characters can fly... that sucks.
That's the first thing in this game that's disappointed me.
I think the phrase you were looking for is chew each other out, as in argue about it.DNA wrote:No, not reallywhat I mean to say is that you can literaly eat eachother out, eat eat, get it? Pepole always under estimate Hercule. I think he could have had a decent fight against the likes of Nam. He'd be at a disadvantage for sure, but I think he could win. But seeing as he can't even hurt Videl... or himself in BT1/2 I don't have too much hope for anyone in BT3 either.Humpski wrote:I think he'd be able to hurt Nam. Not beat Nam, but hurt him at least.
Sure, broken controls add challange, but that's nothing new. And if you want to talk about personal wants I want to use a Kid Goku, Nam, Kid Chi-Chi, Tao, etc. that can fly and don't suck because the game's poorly made.Victator Supreme wrote: Yes because the DRagonball characters could not fly. Hey, if you want those that can't fly in the show to not be able to fly in the game cause it's more 'true to the show' than why not just make it so those who can't beat someone in the show can't beat them in the game? It's the exact same thing. You say you want a challange so how about using Roshi to fight the Ginyu force when every attack does 0 damage to them and one hit makes you lose?Victator Supreme wrote:Why if I did not know better, I Would think "balancing" is an empty buzzword with no real meaning. Every character is unique and requires unique strategy. IF a character can't fly you adjust your plan accordingly. But if you run in using Roshi like you would Goku, then you are going to lose.

I found Arale and Blue but I am upset that they were so small in there. But Arale expression is so funny! One thing about Chi Chi, time paradox? And on the topic of flying character, Akkuman should be able to fly, he has wings. So as to say, he is the only non-special flying character in the game. (Aside from Mr Satan if he can fly.) On the video, what were the Z signs and X for? More characters?kvon wrote:Do you mean you can't find Blue or Arale? They're in there alright, but they're way too small to spot at first glance. This walk-through will show how earthbound characters would not fly, but simply jump or rush into the air since they will eventually descend slowly to the ground. This kind of make sense if you think about it. I remember the time I first watched the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, where Goku and Tenshinhan fought in the sky for quite a while. I could've sworn Tenshinhan was flying because he seemed to boost his speed upward to catch up to Goku, but at the end of the battle Tenshinhan said something like "I didn't even have a chance to use the Bukuu-justsu (Flying technique). So it's not so strange that they are able to rush through the air. Plus, they don't fall anymore, which doesn't interrupt anything.

Dunno about any anime filler.
In the manga she decapitated and fried a dinosaur; had a brief skirmish with Yamcha which ended with Yamcha knocking her out; pushed Goku off the Kin'toun when he did the gender-checking thing; and threw her blade at Kamesen'nin to see if he really was who he said he was.
