it would be a major rip if they used the same key visual/opening animation thing they've been doing for about the last month, but i honestly feel like they might, i hope not, or else this special might be a disaster in disguise...

I don't think there is any reason to worry, it'll probably just be a regular NEP for 109.
Now that the new episodes titles came out, it's officially confirmed epic stuff like keep happening after the Special.
I'm anxious to see the staff list for what comes next and which ToP episode Nakamura/Nagamine will tackle next.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

So, Jiren vs goku comes to a halt because hit saves him?
I really thought the special fight was the definitive specially because goku shows his new transformation, hopefully the definitive goku vs jiren in the future is not a step back compared to the special in terms of animation
I noticed the reused Freeza transformation scene into his Golden form from Episode 94 in this one. But that's fine by me becuase that scene is awesome.
Other than that, this was a decent episode for what we expect from a Yashima solo job.

On the bright side it could mean last minute corrections and polishing like in 106 where Vegeta and Goku looked off in the NEP but was corrected in the actual episode
Episode 108 didn't have anything special, but the Special looks really Special!!
Finally they showed something! They couldn't run away anymore.
If episode 66 was already a spectacle back then despite the production problems, I can't wait to see how higher this arc climax will be now that everything is much better.
