Super Episode 108 (24 September 2017)

This episode coming immediately after last week's great episode was a bad idea. Frost looked amazing as an antagonist last week, but here, pardon my French, he looked like shit. This was a very disappointing way to end off his character arc for this tournament.

This personally felt like a naturally satisfying way to end his character. His ultimate downfall is brought about by being double-crossed by Freeza, someone who he originally trusted and genuinely praised (even went as far as addressing him "senpai"). Considering how he dedicated his life into deceiving the innocents while masquerading his true corrupt self as an honorable hero and responsible for all the lives lost in the wars he secretly caused, this was a cleverly karmic way of delivering retribution.

Enjoyed the episode, didn't expect Frost to be erased. That scene where he charges the ki blast and acts skeptical of Freeza...When i saw Freeza's reaction, I thought it was odd. Like he gave him a look that said, "Oh so you think you'd be able to do something anyway?"

Also, I loved the fact that one of Mosco's warriors had a few moments of shine!

Which part of the subs were we misreading? Gohan was most certainly in some danger. Whether that danger was manufactured or not due to Gohan refusing to power up is another matter entirely.

I was mainly referring to this line;

"You should have gone Super Saiyan and fought back" - Freeza

Being in danger, would mean that there was a chance that Gohan could've been ringed out by Jimeze. There was a 0% chance Jimeze would've won this fight. In my eyes, a character is not in danger when they can kick it up a notch and take the opponent out at any time, such as when Goku got grabbed by that guy (forgot his name), or when 17 versed that blue chick. I have no doubt in my mind had Freeza not intervened Gohan would've transformed into Super Saiyan and knocked him out, with ease.

What do you think? Do you think Gohan would've sat there and took the blast for no reason, or do you think he would fight back at the last minute?

Freeza gave frost a lesson in Politics, a lesson that he will never ever put in use. he just got rid of his number one obstacle if he ever plans to invade U6.

Although i was either going for a Frost snitch to disappoint Freeza, or Freeza pulling a father figure in Gohan to power him up, i didnt expect him to do all this, but what i did expect and predicted in 100% detail, was his last word for Frost.
Never trust anybody. He aint gonna pull another of this silky hits on Gohan, so that line goes for him as well.

PS, Golden Freeza has a sick ass scenery when he transforms.

Honestly I Never Take Anything away From Gohan, but what was more important to me then who is strong is the ideals of how Honorable both Jimeze and Gohan could have shown one another like the fight was Between Gohan vs. Obuni of U10!

We tend to forget in this Fever of Power Levels and Proving who is the best that mainly nearly ALL of these fighters are Good and Honorable Warriors, some even Super-Heroes!

I feel like their was on opportunity here to have an Honorable fight again between Jimeze and Gohan and even if Gohan is Stronger which it might have turned out like yes, it still would have showcase both warriors in an honorable light reminding out the true nature of who fights in this ToP, Honorable and Good People fighting for their right to Be!

- Someone did not understand Teleportation has nothing to do with speed as you do not move - that would be warping, so moving in a subspace which for some reason is often synonymously used with teleporting when it comes to names - except maybe for the time that someone needs to de-materialize and re-materializes; that can be associated with "speed" concerning teleportation.
- Frost getting erased was unexpected but overall I also think his character in the tournament was not used to his fullest.I like how Frost did not trust Freeza at first but Freeza treating Frist like an amateur was a classic
- I dislike how they re-used the transformation frames

What I got from this episode in regards to Gohan is that as I expected, he isn't all that smart a fighter. I wouldn't call him dumb, but he can think of something to bypass poison but not a countermeasure for Shunkan Ido. He took an L to Jimizu, throwing away another chance to make Gohan look really intelligent in a fight. Only thing I'm somewhat disappointed in in this episode. Despite people praising Gohan for him being intelligent and strategical, he's not only been a subpar leader, but he isn't being written to be as competent as I feel he should be. His fight with Lavender stands as my favorite performance of his for legit showing how smart he can be in fights.

I knew Frost was doing too well in Episode 107! You will be missed Frost, you'll be in my nightmares, but you will be missed! At least this arc introduced a Frieza that's actually entertaining. *Proceeds to play sad funeral song on the kazoo*

Well that was a bit anti-climactic ending for Frost. Wanted to see more of him and Freeza together, but getting straight on erased without warning was savage!

TBH,Frosts colour designs is also pretty ugly. Its a muggy grey with a dark blue,if the white segments are darker, nothing really pops out about it. Mind you, I'm not a fan of the Golden Freeza's muggy gold, but at least that has the potential to look good with the appropriate after effects applied to it. Frost just looks dull and unappealing in comparison to Freeza's final form and even Golden Freeza when properly handled.

....he's obviously just from Universe 2? It's been stated time and time again, Saiyans only exist in U7 and U6. Not all of their races are exclusive to U7/U6.

Gohan could have said " I thought your race is only in Universe 6 and 7".

Then Jineze could have said "we are also in Universe 2"

That would have took nothing to do.

Or you could use your head and remember they only said Saiyans are exclusive to 6 and 7, and that there's no reason to assume all races from the two univeses are exclusive, therefore not needing them to have Jineze to address it (which is what happened)??

I actually don't care but others will do.

Too bad Frost was eliminated so soon and abruptly, I had hoped he had a bigger role to play, but alas.
Great to see that Frieza is still as heinous as ever, he will always be the villain of all villains to me.

Decent episode overall, the only downside was the passiveness of Gohan.
We all know he needs to be seriously provoked for him to show he can actually fight.
Not very impressed by him so far, he does still know how to turn super Saiyan does he?

Why on Earth are you ruining your experience like that?

Three reasons.

One I'm inpatient.

Two I have Herms twitter open to check during halftime and credits and after preview.

Three since I'm dyslexic and could not read till I was nine, until I could get someone to read for me I'd go through on my own and gather as much as I could. I do the same with unsubbed anime. Because I have watched dragon ball for so long and now its characters and style so well can get the jist of what going on even without understanding a word of Japanese. I just use Herms and the sub for finer details.

Frost getting erased was the highlight of the episode for me. It felt he went too soon though, and really makes "Frost's revenge" plan a ridiculous joke.

Gohan on the other hand... I don't remember one time this arc has done justice to Gohan. He keeps getting fucked up every time we see him, and in this episode he tried to run away from a robot? Cmon man. But I am sure they're having plans about his role in the next episodes judging the ending song's visual.

I'm starting to like Freeza a little more now.

Pros: epic frost/freeza conclusion, getting erased was a beautiful end. Gohan Vs freeza was decent, but short.

Cons: Too much pointless goku Vs rib, too much goku in general, he gets his moment next.
