Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
I suspect that Jiren might actually not be pure of heart... he comes off as kind of a jerk

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
People are forgetting that Jiren has not been damaged AT ALL and has full stamina unlike Goku who has been mucking about.
Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
It's not supposed to "hurt" Jiren, it's just supposed to knock him off the arena
Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
Knowing TOEI this could very well be the case, that Jiren finally goes "alright, everyone's has their fun time to end this" and one shots every member of U2, U3, and U4 and some members of U6 and U7 before the fight starts. They've hyped up those invisible members of U4 before but we've seen how they've hyped up characters like Narirama and then have them get casually one shotted so it wouldn't surprise me if they just get randomly wiped out.KingKaash wrote: wonder if before Jiren fights Goku, he just goes on a rampage and takes out a bunch of non-contenders.
Things like Piccolo vs the Namekians, Toppo vs Vegeta/Freeza/Gohan, Hit vs Jiren/Vegeta and what to do with the U6 Saiyans still needs to pan out though so I think no matter what happens there's going to be other fighting going on and this isn't anywhere close to the end of the tournament, especially since we have 29 minutes left I believe? That is a lot of time.
I hate that they're making Goku go all out and use the spirit bomb this early, but I'll have to reserve judgement until I actually see the episode.
Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
One of the youtubers made an interesting video about this. It could be a plot device. He thinks that it is because this is the source of the new transformation/ki. He compares it so the kids theme park stuff where they get everyone to share their power at home... The person like a kid is zeno. so when he makes the spirit bomb he gets zeno's energy. This might not work on jiren but he thinks the energy is the same as zeno's and the use of the spirit bomb might give him access to zeno ki. Meaning he experienced the zeno key from the spirit bomb somehow and then this new ki is a zeno god level ki that lets him beat jiren or fight him better. He thinks the ki they've shown looks a lot like zenos blue ki.

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
It'll certainly be interesting to see how this will be handled. It was billed as the climax, but since there will be more fights later on, it's only the start of it, unless this genki dama is really going to leave us with tired fighters, who are on their last legs lol.
I think it'd be bullshit either way, cause who is going to give him the energy?? Beerus?
But I'm looking forward to it, even with spoilers, I'm none the wiser!

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
Nah I can't imagine that making any sense. If Zeno gave him energy every other participant in every other universe would call bullshit. I think even the GP would be like "But what about the rules you guys set in place saying no outside interference?" Plus, I'd imagine the spirit bomb would be 1000x bigger if he had Zeno's energy in it.Arugela wrote:One of the youtubers made an interesting video about this. It could be a plot device. I don't think that would be possible either since that would be outside interference, and the combined energy of Goku + Beerus would definitely be enough to wipe Jiren out if we're assuming he's at a GoD level.dbgtFO wrote:I think it'd be bullshit either way, cause who is going to give him the energy?? Beerus?
I hypothesized that every other participant in the ring could give him energy since it would be in their mutual interest to see the strongest person defeated (Jiren), but it'll probably only be energy from Gohan/Piccolo/17/18 and MAYBE Vegeta, and maybe a MINISCULE chance of Freeza. All of which is still pretty lackluster energy-wise.
Also, would SSB Kaioken x20 even affect the spirit bomb's power and size? I assumed that transformations/kaioken would only help in pushing the spirit bomb, not making it grow larger/more powerful, since isn't that what happened with Buu?
Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
I think he was playing off the idea that zeno would do it because he's childlike just like they do in the interactive movies at the theme parks. Because it's fun and cool. It might not matter because if jiren is good it can't do anything to him making him need the new transformation. Goku could use it in hopes it hurts him but finds out it doesn't work then gets beat up.

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
So many theories
Now I even propose the theory Jiren will knock back the genki dama at Goku, whereupon Goku proceeds to absorb it like in BoG:
https://youtu.be/5lJKorVMvZ8
Only this time he manages to merge his powers with the Genki Dama like movie 7, I suppose giving birth to the new form.
But really I expect it to not be a result of the Genki Dama, but we will see.

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
Goku's new ki might be related to the Genkidama. It could be purely spiritual ki, which would be similar to fighting with a Genkidama surrounding the body all the time. Could also explain why Hit is taking on Jiren on 111, maybe Goku will have to focus to control his new spiritual ki, and after Hit goes Vegeta to stall time, as hinted by Toyotaro when he posted a picture of the manga panel when Vegeta had to hold off Kid Buu for Goku to charge his SSJ3.

i hope and i doubt that Goku will get energy from the gods or from anyone outside the arena. Frost was hakai'd for trying to inteverne. Everyone who isn't in the arena shouldn't be able to give genki to Goku.

Can you spoiler this and anything like this next time please? Starting to think I shouldn't come here anymore except for Saturdays to talk about the episodes.emperior wrote:Could also explain why ____ is taking on ____ on 111

If you want to avoid spoilers at all cost I suggest you to avoid speculation threads. I'm sorry about that, though.Asura wrote:Can you spoiler this and anything like this next time please? Honestly if one really does want to avoid spoilers then they really need to avoid this sub forum in general.emperior wrote:If you want to avoid spoilers at all cost I suggest you to avoid speculation threads. True. Back in FT arc I was so invested I decided I would stop visiting Kanzenshuu to avoid spoilers. I wouldn't browse anything Dragon Ball related at all if I wanted to be spoiler-free.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Honestly if one really does want to avoid spoilers then they really need to avoid this sub forum in general.emperior wrote:If you want to avoid spoilers at all cost I suggest you to avoid speculation threads. Goku himself hasn't really been damaged at all himself and nothing suggests he's lost much energy or stamina. He isn't at 100% but nothing at all suggests he's lost much steam.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:People are forgetting that Jiren has not been damaged AT ALL and has full stamina unlike Goku who has been mucking about.

Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
I still don't understand why Jiren has not done much. Could he be saving his energy for someone other than Goku that we do not know about? Does he only fight Goku becuase he and Ribrianne and causing too much destruction like Kale did before or maybe because Vermoud wants to annoy Beerus?Jigurashi wrote:Goku himself hasn't really been damaged at all himself and nothing suggests he's lost much energy or stamina. To be honest I dunno why the moderators haven't just made a spoiler-free sub-forum under this one. Maybe it's just because no one's mentioned the idea before? Is there a way I can somehow give feedback in this regard?Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Honestly if one really does want to avoid spoilers then they really need to avoid this sub forum in general.emperior wrote:If you want to avoid spoilers at all cost I suggest you to avoid speculation threads. Re: Why the Spirit Bomb?
That would be cool, I would definitely like to have something like that. Many people definitely like to discuss upcoming events episode by episode without having spoilers.Asura wrote:To be honest I dunno why the moderators haven't just made a spoiler-free sub-forum under this one.
