I'm a bit disappointed we're not getting a ridiculously absurd 5 minute promo comparing Goku and Jiren to Julius Caesar and Brutus the way Toei did for One Piece, but optimistically I feel like it's actually possible we're getting the "more effort put into it" special compared to One Piece's special.

I 100% agree with that. Although i'm glad we got something — some new scenes, clues and a better quality look in comparison to the previous NEP that came out just a few days ago. I'm still dissapointed by the fact that we only got a 30 second clip, as opposed to One Piece, which had a 3 minute clip (if not more).

It's just not fair to us Dragon Ball fans.

Yeah it seems the OP special on the whole disappointed fans apparently too many flashblacks and such, like I said elsewhere over-hyping can be a bad thing. I think they hit the sweet spot with DBS, it's seems perfect balance.

I can't wait until it's shown that the two Zeno's raise their hands up to give their ki to Goku when he forms the Genkidama. Zeno mentioned no outside interruptions, but that doesn't include him. I can't fucking wait.

Pardon, but although I think that could happen, I can't help myself thinking how weird would be... Goku getting energy from the presumed most powerful beings in the whole Multiverse, which should be considered cheating, but yet Jiren deflects as no big deal? I can predict hundred of pages of people complaining about this

See, Prime remind me of primates. A Saiyan could be taken as a primate. Prime also gives an idea of primitive, original or top form. Just a theory, though.

That actually should be the name of Super Saiyan 4, fits more perfectly for that one. As Nakatsuru said "Super Saiyan 4" was just for convenience.

I don’t get this comparison since Jiren and Superman have nothing in common other than both being heroes and being buff.

When Goku is standing up, his hair look to be the same as base, so it doesn't look like he's transformed at that point just survived.

Anyway I'm not sure why a lot of people are sullied by the idea of this form being as a result of Goku absorbing. I'd much rather it be something like this on the spot and not something already gained like SS3, SSGSS.

And the amount of $h*t Toei got for it was next level. Especially absorbing it into a transformed state. It's almost like Toei is canonizing every single criticism the fandom has ever had about something they did as if there was some ulterior motive....

Really ? I didn't know people have it shit. I think it's a neat idea, but I don't want to see it again and I also don't approve of it having such a huge power boost.

It does, the non-canon forms get crapped on by the canon purists. LSSJ, SSJxKK, and now Spirit bomb absorption were all Toei concepts that have now somehow made their way into the anime while we have yet to see things like SSJxKK materialize in the manga which is also being adapted from Toriyamas outline but suspiciously lacks these Toei exclusive forms like SS Rage and SSJxKk

I think it's gonna depend on Jiren's backstory. Like if it turns out his entire backstory/set of powers is a parody of Superman's. Though now I'm imagining Jiren wearing fake glasses and a suit going to work writing news articles at the Weekly Planet Daily, or Monthly Planet Jump under the pseudonym Cant Park or maybe Rent Lark.

Why doesn't Toei do filler for OP? It seems what Toei do with OP is worse than not filler.

At least for DBS fans will probably appreciate a Jiren flashback/backstory and I'm sure we can expect reaction shots as per usual. How funny if our special turns out much better than the over hyped OP lol.

Doubt that was reason why the ratings were low since you have to actually watch the special know there a lot of flashbacks. It isn't like the Japanese fans knew ahead of time.
