Yup, he did Kuririn holding a dragon ball along with the rest of the gang with them, 17's blast, and the bit at the end where Goku turns with the dragon ball in his hand.

I think he did the cut when #17 was doing a blast.

Yuya Takahashi just posted some 'doodles' on his Twitter:

If he brings anything close to this classic look when he supervises, I will die of happiness.

Funny thing is, he probably drew some references to Yamamuro's older work, thinking how much he sucks nowadays.

Yuya Takahashi

He privately tweeted to someone that he would be participating in the special. He also said that he will be a Animation Supervisor at some point in the future.
I didn't know about this part. I thought that just like Shida, he was not interested in being a Supervisor?!
Anyway this is awesome news and I'm glad that even though he left Toei, there's still strong ties that makes him come back.

It was Yuki Hayashi who left Toei, not Yuya Takahashi. Seen a lot of people make that mistake this week. Similar sounding names~

Yuya Takahashi's done a fair bit of supervision before on other shows. He was a regular on Fairy Tail, for example.

Holy shit! There's even more?! Toei is really spoiling us! Let's hope they aren't spoiling too much though, don't wanna end up and be like: 'i saw this all already in the previews..' when it airs. Probably not, considering that we still only have seen like a minute max of footage in total (all coming from just 1 episode? If so that be great), and assuming the production went well due to the good staff list, i have high hopes in regard to the amount of good looking action animated. But Damn aside from that, this looked fan-fucking-tastic!

The tournament stage looked rather small though in that panning shot at first glance compared to how the last episodes made the stage look like regarding size, then i saw how small Goku was and now it seems to make more sense, they got some really realllly big boulders on that stage though.

Those.beautiful.animation! I dont normally raise my expectations anymore since I dont want to be disappointed in the end but... Ima make an exception this time, it seems safe to raise it, they'll probably go beyond what I can imagine so c'mon Sunday why you no come sooner.

There are glimpses of Goku's transformation, and it looks incredibly executed so far. I think that will be a memorable moment in Dragon Ball history. Yeah, I'm fucking hyped, can't help myself.

Cool! I didn't know that at all! I thought 17's blast was Ken Otsuka's work. I love that Kuririn cut with the dragon ball. Takahashi is da man! Thanks for the info, Ajay.

Holy God.

That looks gorgeous. They really are throwing everything into this double episode. Reminds me a lot of how Toei pooled together a lot of their top animators into Episode 66.

It better not give us some sort of 'post-climax hangover' though. Assuming it wont since this was only supposed to be the beginning of the climax, but i still pray for it to not crash afterwards; those traumatic memories of Ep 67 are not easily forgotten..

Lets see how well Toei will have its shit together after this special. Very curious.

I guess this makes up for all those weeks that all the advertising we had was the same promotional art and shots from the Opening. :P
Much more impressive than anything I saw in One Piece Special. Looks like Dragon Ball this time got the better treatment. About time!

I think I found Nikaido at 0:10 seconds Jiren punching the ground. That's his smoke.

EDIT: I think that brief kaioken scene might be him as well. Similar timing to his work on 100.
