I know I'm probably going to piss a whole bunch of people off, so I'm gonna get this out the way; I like the ENG Dub
and the JPN version. Yes, my preference goes to the Funimation post-2010 cast, but that doesn't mean that I think that the JPN is horrible, nor do I have any ill will towards the people behind either version of the same series, as neither version is perfect by any means.
With that out the way, this is more of a minor thing, but it does irritate me a little bit (and I find that it's a bit more apparent in DB Super), but for the life of me...
I just can't stand the fast-paced exchanges of blows in the JPN version. I've always found it a bit annoying when a fighter is locked in a rapid exchange of blows/punches only to hear the same variation of "atatatatatatatatata"
every single time. As someone who's voiced in a bunch of indie fighting games before, it begins to bother me after a while. I feel as though the "rapid exchange of blows" is something that I feel that the English dub does a whole lot better with. Not only do the actors use a wider variety of grunts/yells/shouts, but because of that, those particular parts make the fight seem more lifelike and intense like a lot of them are supposed to be.
I'm sorry; I just find that the JPN version just doesn't cut it for me during scenes like that.
