Cantonese Box Sets?
Well, I saw them, and they have TONS of episodes. I mean tons. And I can get them for cheap too. Anybody hear of them?

Yeah, judging by the way the a lot of casual forum members talk about not noticing the season sets' video flaws I would imagine most of them are willing to tolerate lousy quality bootleg video for the cheaper price. Ugh.
The only two bootlegs I ever bought (well, one was bought for me so that's technically not my fault) I ended up throwing away and buying the official release. Not because the video quality was that bad, but because the quality of official releases was better. Not to mention they were both two of my favorite shows so it didn't make since to have fake DVDs anyway.

I'll be in Hong Kong next November to see the availability of the Cantonese box sets. One thing I know for sure, the only audio options are Cantonese (TVB dub) and Japanese. Only Traditional Chinese subtitles are available and i think there is no option to turn it off (not burnt-in, tho).

Those are bootlegs then
I have the official HK boxes of Dragon Ball and just like tinlunlau said, TVB dub/Japanese dub and Chinese subtitles only that can't be turned off.

As far as not being able to turn of subtitles go, I had the first two R3 Saint Seiya boxes and had that same problem. What you need to do is to either have a DVD player with no forced macrovision, or get something like DVDgenie and watch them on your computer without macrovision.
And then, no forced subs!

I actually work in the Hong Kong DVD industry and I can pretty much confirm these little facts on the Hong Kong R3 edition of Dragon Ball Z. The company that I work for is actually a competitor company to the company that's releasing DBZ and all other Toei products. Joy Sales (my company) focuses on Gonzo's stuff in terms of anime. In other words, I know my shit.
By the way, "Spiderman 3" is out on dvd. I bought it last week.
