Super Episode 109-110 (8 October 2017)

The best part of the two episodes for me was when Goku said he might use his wish for his family or a strong enemy. Not just a strong enemy but he also mentioned Chichi and his sons.

Hilarious how we get this showing of him (more than one occasion this saga) caring for his family yet Vegeta hasn't shown that at all dthe spite his Bio saying he's fighting for them lol.

I got a chuckle out of Ribrianne pretty much not wanting to admit that she's attracted to Jiren.

He was there for Bulma when she was pregnant. I have to give him that one.

This is what Ultra Instinct is about. It's cool, isn't it? To be able to move and act without a single thought. The episode showed incredibly well Goku being empty minded. Props to Toriyama for coming up with the idea, and to Toei and the anime staff to execute it so well.

LOVED this special. Animation was through the fucking roof. Seeing Whis act so proud of Goku was so nice. Beerus's reactions hit me. You can really tell that he's fond of Goku and does genuinely care for him.

When Hit stepped in at the end- oh my fucking goodness. Then Freeza was about to kill Goku. Holy fuck what a cliffhanger.

and THAT INSERT SONG. HNNNNNNG.

One of Super's best. Only complaint I have was that the Spirit Bomb struggle did start to drag for a bit. The stuff that followed it more than made up for it though.

Crunchy Roll crashed the instant the episode came out. Thank God I finally got to watch it after like 3 hours of trying to load the site. It was totally worth it. JIREN

I think Vegeta didn't give his energy for some reason that'll be spelled out later. The writers would have to know the difference between Vegeta and Freeza.

I thought they already did in the episode, when Vegeta countered Telletubby, he knew someone would go after Goku's blind side instead of standing around giving energy he decided to prowl around.

Ribrianne fucking sucks. Those first minutes with her bitching about love this and love that were so unnecessary and cringeworthy. Almost ruined the special for me.

But for every stupid moment with Ribrianne, we had awesomesauce with pretty much every other character.

I won't comment on the episode since everybody else here was more or less spot on. I'll quickly say what I particularly liked though.

- Krillin seemed quite confident on Goku's tactics and abilities and actually gave me the impression he actually knows his best friend, instead of looking like an idiot whenever Goku would do something in Z. That's the vibe a good friend should be giving. Kudos to the monk.

- I like the fact that despite the special being focused on Goku and Jiren, the writers do not forget that many other characters carry hype too. Frieza and Hit in particular looked awesome, and no matter how strong Jiren is, Frieza isn't taking off his hype armor anytime soon.

Let it be said: Vegeta. Couldn't. Detect. Frieza. Grabbing. Son Goku.

Definitely, it is the best episode of DB Super.
Just 2 moments could make it better:
First, if warriors of another Universes donated to Genki Dama to more justify Jiren's strength, when Jiren was reflecting it, and Goku's strength too after absorbing Genki Dama. It was not out of character in this case, because each one understood Jiren is strong, meanwhile Genki Dama is not manifestation of Goku's power, but power of all who donated to it.
Second, some random elimination just by pressure of action. There was some moments of it: when Jiren was unlocking his power and Genki Dama.

And one monent. I don't believe that new form will be exclusive to Goku. GoDs also have this form, but they are not mastered it. And I believe each angel have this form (if not something better).

Also, that new ending is absolutely wonderful. Love it.

This was simply... ORGASMIC! Damn, I was halfway through the special and then said to myself "Oh shit, there's more!". The fight was awesome, the character interactions were so entertaining (I loved Ribrianne thinking Jiren was in love with her. Though untranslated, I thought she was scared shitless and trying to pretend to be intimidating), specially when Whis started to fan boy over Goku. And as soon as that soundtrack came on in the Goku V Jiren fight, I was pumped. Takes me back to the opening son being used in the Goku V Hit fight.

But, everything has it's TERRIBLE sins:

Also, if this is technically not a transformation, does that mean I lose my bet with Emperor?

Goku Ultra Instinct. Even the gods were shocked .

That was super awesome. Great animation and pacing. Jiren has proven himself a great opponent for Goku to fight against.

I just wish Ribrianne got thrown out of the ring, she's overstayed her welcome IMO.

That wasn't the real Goku vs Jiren fight, that was just a teaser for what's to come. Jiren barely got serious, and we can see from the promo photos that Goku is going to use Ultra Instinct again with his shirt missing.

I think this is already a great setup. Now Universe 11 already has a real reason to feel troubled. If they think that was it, they'll get a big problem. Typical shounen underestimation.

Amazing episode on so many levels!

Everything has pretty much been said already, so I'll just say what I noticed:

- General vibes of mirroring the original SSj transformation on Namek - the scene when the guys wonder if Goku could use KKx20 already and then learning that he already has been is probably the worst offender
- Freeza showing Goku the humiliation of receiving someone's mercy in revenge for his own treatment on Namek - Amazing!
- The choreography, buildup, drama, tension - everything masterful

- Goku's "Ultra Instinct" form was NOT achieved by him absorbing the Genki Dama, not entirely at least. Whis said this was due to breaking down barriers within himself due to his strife against the Genki Dama. The Genki Dama only served as a temporary replenishment of his depleted ki, it's not inherent to the transformation. Freeza's donated energy will work just as well for powering Goku up. Don't be too quick to misunderstand this transformation by thinking it's entirely reliant on energy supply from a Genki Dama.

What an episode. For days, i lost some focus from the series as i was studying, and only started to get hyped yesterday once i finished , and the special fucking delivered. Hell the transformation even makes sense.

Only one complaint, that Vegeta did not share his energy, but i guess i can let it pass because he was protecting Goku from Ribrianne, so that's nice.

This is how I feel too with the majority of comments about her...like...yeah she is supposed to be a parody of magical girls in ways but did they think that would stop once they introduced it? Nah we going to go 25 MPH to 125 MPH with her. I actually like her, she feels such like a Dragon Ball character in that I cannot imagine her working in any other series.
