So "destructive" that the platform was intact ...

The chapter was good.
Although I am still disappointed by the gods, the fight was very short and it seemed that they had fought for 1 year all lying on the ground "tired" when they only fought for half a chapter.
Goku vs Toppo ... this was even shorter ..
Unlike many already I do not expect an adaptation to the manga, the only thing that would improve, remove the PU to Trunks and lengthen the explanations, everything else would be anti-feats of power and a black goku without personality and similar to any other flat villain.

Zen'one: I can't see a thing at all.
Zentwo: Can't see a thing.

Grand Priest: Zen'ou-sama is not enjoying your battle because it is too violent. Therefore, the Gods of Destruction will not participate in the tournament.

Grand Priest: Well then, judging by the matches earlier, a few restrictions will be established. Due to Zen'ou-sama finding it difficult to watch the matches, flying will be prohibited. Use of weapons is prohibited as well and killing the opponent is not allowed. Falling out of bounds will be considered a loss.
ImageImage
Grand Priest: Consequently, participant Top wins this match!

Top: You can't drop your guard when the real deal comes. <- I'm not sure if he's talking about himself, Goku or speaking generally because there might context in other pages so take this line with a grain of salt.
Goku: You're... really strong.
Top: You're also pretty strong. If I hadn't countered, I don't know if I'd win.
Goku: Anyways, if I can't beat you, I can't win... Seems like it won't be easy.
Top: Sorry but I'm the second [strongest] in Universe 11.

Interesting to see Toppo doesn't see Goku as the "ultimate evil" here.

Even better he is not the annoying justice thing.

Toppo isn't a buffoon in the manga. Thanks Toyo, you did it again.

Now I can only hope Toyo can add some spice on Jiren's character, tone down Ribrianne's involvement or at the very least cut down the love friendship BS thing she has going and make Cauli and Kale tolerable.

The same way the Ginyu Force and Great Saiyaman are buffoons. Kinda sad they removed his posing and JUSTICE screaming, though it might show up later

But he really doesn't. Hell, he rarely mention "justice" in any of monologues, beyond the use of word in moves he has, after his full debut against Goku in their battle.

Toppo acts certainly a bit exuberant in battle. But we see outside of his duties as a Pride Trooper he's a very level headed, contemplative, down-to-earth and relaxed person. But he's also very serious about his job and status as a Pride Trooper and very much deeply cares about the fate of his teammates as well as his entire universe. So while Toppo can be very outward with his duties as Pride Trooper, he can also be very thoughtful, reflective and dedicated. I just found his character in the anime more layered and fleshed out.

Nope, he talked and talked and talked. Justice this, pride that, villain this, hero that. Not too annoying, but still :shh:

I'd wait until translations are out before I decide if the manga's character problem is still prevalent
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

Toppo talks about about himself in more detail in Episode 82 because a) That's the episode he's truly introduced in and we need to needed exactly who he was, what he does and what he represents and b) The context of the scenario when he faced Goku provided him with more initiative to label Goku however he pleased given how his already skewered view of evil was presented and laid out by him.

After that episode, Toppo "heroic" rhetoric is toned down a bit.

Than what? The manga? Maybe he will get much more "justice" like later.

Well, interestingly the Zen'os and Grand Priest seem to be putting the problem more on the Gods than Goku.
I think he even implied a bunch of them aren't doing a good job. Having them fight to represent themselves was also good.
It's weird because I'm not seeing anywhere where some of the universes are excluded yet.

Translations are out. He's just like anime Toppo except he doesn't pose and scream Justice. He also doesn't call Son Goku a villain

Do they know their Universes are on the chopping block yet? Grand Priest was being hush-hush about it last chapter.

Yeah, the whole "Goku is evil" plot point isn't here. Which probably means it wasn't a Toriyama idea. Which probably means it's anime-only. Which probably means it's a plot point that'll get dropped because that's what the anime always does.

Sad, really. The arc just got even more boring in both versions.
