That was out of a sense of justice though. Goku let Vegeta go because he wanted to fight him again, not out of a sense of justice unless you go by the dub dialogue.

Yep, it's out of a sense of justice. Batman is a vigilante. He's already stepping outside the law by being a vigilante. It would defeat the purpose of fighting crime by being judge, jury, and literal executioner.

I would prefer it if people not create some strawman where they think we're saying the characters aren't heroic. They are, but they aren't superheroes. Goku did save Gohan from Raditz and he did stop the Saiyan invasion, but he let Vegeta go to get a good fight.
I don't think anyone here is implying the DB gang is the justice league
That's actually untrue. My thread was started because of a conversation I was having with Bullza where he did in fact say they were superheroes like The Avengers.

I have read Bullza's posts and I have gotten to the conclusion that he just has a mindset that dbz is like Japanese animated avengers and he thinks Kikuchi's score does not fit Z portion because it's less Martial Arts and more sci fi and Action.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Exactly, those who think DB has no story haven't watch/read DB episode 1 through Z 291 in it's entirety and have only seen those watched those full fight videos on youtube.

Even though I like the show I have to agree with what that image said about bleach.

Probably already said but i'll say it again, still seeing DBZ super. Even Funi's dub calls it Dragon Ball Super, ignorance of the casual fanbase.

I've never been fond of the lack of attention the earlier part of the series gets particularly when it comes to the fighting games. I'd love to play more fighting games with Giran, Piccolo Daimao, Tao Pai Pai, or Hatchan.

Well that's a whole other ball of waxs then, I only argued that there heros of sorts. Martial artists that will also step up if they need to. That recent episode of Super summed it up pretty well. Goku loves a challenge and to fight strong guys, but he also can't stand the idea of animals or innocent people being hurt. Unconventional heros are still heros. They don't need to be going around like great Saiyaman to fit any sort of heroic mold. Some of you make it seem as if someone was being murdered or attacked near Goku, he wouldin't do anything because eit's not a good fight. He is selfish, but he's a decent man that has some morals about killing etc.

Piccolo was pretty pissed off when Cell was going around killing all those innocent people. He and the others were racing around trying to prevent his perfect form, hardly seems like battle hungry morons that just want a good fight. Goku also put all his faith in Gohan and even gave up against Cell, he was counting on Gohan to win and save everyone, once again not just a good fight.

too bad most think Dragon Ball is plot less pro wrestling show with no tactical fights and there is no use explaining them just because Naruto fights are full of tactics and its characters have Backstories doesn't mean it's a standard that all Shonen animes have to be like that. Just because Dragon Ball characters don't have Backstories doesn't mean it's bad. By the way I saw your MAL and you have seen quite a lot of shows, do you still like Dragon Ball after seeing so many better shows ?

they are group of Martial artists who are looking for good fights but they aren't bad guys so they will not hold back from doing heroic things if needed.

I think he improved incrementally. There's a big jump in quality during the Buu arc.

I wouldn't call it a big jump. I remember that he still had that growling voice.

People that hate on GT just because Super is out. Like I don't care for GT much myself, and I am enjoying Super recently, but people ignore all the flaws Super has and act like it has vastly less issues than GT.

It's much more natural. Still forced, but more toned down.

Have you been living under a rock? Super has received plenty of harsh criticism from old fans, same as GT. The difference is Super still feels like a Toriyama invention, while GT feels like a TOEI invention.

Of course, otherwise I wouldn't be on this site. There are many shows out there better than DB, hell I would consider OP better just because of it's monstrous world building. Even after watching masterpieces like Bebop, FMA, and Steins gate I still consider DB to be one of the most entertaining experiences.

I don't consider myself the biggest dragon ball fan because I watch so many other series. The simplicity of the series makes it an enjoyable watch for me. :)

I actaully think people see GT in a better light now thanks to super. It's appreciated a bit more.

I respect everyone’s opinion and don’t think anyone is wrong for enjoying GT but Super definitely doesn’t make
me like GT more. I didn’t like GT before Super and I still don’t like GT.

And yes while I think Super is nowehere near perfect I still vastly prefer it to GT in every way.

Wait, Scott McNeil voiced Piccolo once?

Umm... he was the original FUNimation voice actor for Piccolo :). He voiced the character from 1996-1998 in the 53 edited dubbed episodes and the first three movies. He then continued on in the role in the alternate DBZ English dub contracted by the European market.

I've always always appreciated GT. It felt very creative and much more experimental than Z, though I do acknowledge that it drops the ball on almost all of the ideas it presents but it's still very interesting. Kind of the way I enjoyed Prometheus and Alien: Covenant very much. I understood what Ridley Scott tried to present to us and looked past the flaws. Not saying I do that for ever show or movie, but some things require that particular rule of logic.

Super on the other hand, doesn't feel as cool or interesting as GT imo but it's still entertaining.
