"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Champa does it? Wasn't expecting that. If it is fusion, I hope we see him demonstrate it with someone else in the stands. Who would we get? Champados? Champit? Dr Rompa?

Namekians, make sure you are watching Champa.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The only way we'd get a fusion out of him is if he gets Beerus to help, and wouldn't that be a sightKataphrut wrote:Champa does it? Wasn't expecting that. If it is fusion, I hope we see him demonstrate it with someone else in the stands. Who would we get? Champados? Champit? Dr Rompa?
Still, all things considered, the potara seems the likelier of the two now.

Gowasu's number 1 fan.

I`m quite satisfied considering there`s Filler he didn`t have a direct hand on but I always felt it was in character for the older cast.Miracles wrote:In "The anime and me" interview, Toriyama claims even that is Dragonball...Olympian wrote:Does this include Filler too?Miracles wrote: Did you miss the part where Toriyama said GT is a "Side story" to Dragonball?
Toriyama has also said the same about the DBZ movies being in "another dimension" cause he was mostly not part of them.
Toriyama is on record stating that official Dragonball is his manga, the anime AND Dragonball Super.
TOEI didn't say Toriyama only created the series. They outright stated that Toriyama writes the story for super, and oversees their production of his story.
Your opinions don't change the facts.
12: From time to time, it would happen that people whom I didn't even know were approaching me about the anime. Things were often said like: "Oh jeeze, between the manga and the anime, you must never take any time to let yourself breathe!". In reality, I had hardly worked at all on the anime, I had put confidence in my collaborators. I had enough to do just with the manga. I didn't want to work myself to death, you know...
Toriyama: I want to live until I'm 100 years old!
13: For example, drawing an image of a movement in a manga is relatively simple, but to animate this image, you had to decompose the movement and draw all the intermediary movements. That demands a colossal amount of work. (Ok, the example of Kame-sennin might not be the most appropriate...)
14: Of course, those who have read Dragon Ball have noticed that certain stories which are found in the anime didn't existe in the manga.
Oolong: What's this? I never saw that in the manga....
END: As one adventure in the manga corresponds to about 10 minutes of animation, and since one episode comprises on average 30 minutes, the entire series of Dragon Ball would have passed by very quickly. The team of animators therefore had to insert some original stories. I admire what they have done, that's a hell of a job!
Toriyama: "Dragon Ball, it's the anime and the manga!"

The kids are a bit more grown up and Gotenks, Yamcha, Chiatzu and Buu are quoted as to have fended off a couple invasions to the planet, which would then be retold for the audience`s general pleasureshadowmaria wrote:Moving away from the canon debate

Nah fam. We can't stop doing that. That would require the fanbase to stop jumping to conclusions based on little info.Xeogran wrote:Can people now, pretty please, stop blaming Goku for everything?

This is all Goku's fault anyway as he didn't knock them out in episode 101.Jigurashi wrote:Nah fam. We can't stop doing that. That would require the fanbase to stop jumping to conclusions based on little info.Xeogran wrote:Can people now, pretty please, stop blaming Goku for everything?

Might as well blame 17 and 18 as well. Since you know, they let them go right along with Goku.namekiansaiyan wrote:This is all Goku's fault anyway as he didn't knock them out in episode 101.Jigurashi wrote:Nah fam. Lol. I know. That doesn't really change the fact they're equally to blame for letting Caulifla and Kale go, but apparently that's all Goku's fault. 17 and 18 just disappeared after 103, and after giving energy to the Genki Dama, disappeared once again.Big Black Saiyan wrote:17 and 18 are too busy not doing anythingJigurashi wrote:Might as well blame 17 and 18 as well. It's probably not against the rules to use Potara? Goku got outside help for his Genki Dama.

Its the same nonetheless, Goku will let them do the fusion anyways and just watch till they get the gits of it, there's really no difference if it was Goku teaching them or someone else.
Anyways what I got from that is... Kale will be able to control her transformation now (couldnt she do that before? with the slim SSJ and the hulk Broly mode, is this a new one?) and despite that she and Cauli will still have to fuse, so is this new controlled form of hers + Cauli still not a match for a tired Goku? I mean Goku is still recovering even if he is able to go SSJ2 in the prev he's still damaged hard from Jiren.

I assume it's her "Berserker form" that she is going to use and has control over. Do you think it's possible he might get SSG or SSB back in episode 114? We know he'll be fighting them from 113-115, with him fighting a fusion of them.SansrivaaL wrote:Its the same nonetheless, Goku will let them do the fusion anyways and just watch till they get the gits of it, there's really no difference if it was Goku teaching them or someone else.

Goku will somehow beat them both separately. Kale will probably master her form while Caulifla get SS3. They will then fuse and fire some huge Ki blast so Goku unlocks Ultra instinct again. The fusion will defuse and Goku will blow them away as he has a much more serious personality in Ultra Instinct. Kale and Caulifla will then land next to a certain fighter for some toturing before they are knocked out.SansrivaaL wrote:Its the same nonetheless, Goku will let them do the fusion anyways and just watch till they get the gits of it, there's really no difference if it was Goku teaching them or someone else.

Champa knowing a certain type of fusion technique is genius. It's a fantastic way of expanding the lore of Universe 6 while also giving Champa some kind of credit as a Hakaishin for doing his homework and being knowledgeable of some aspects of the universe he looks over and bringing that knowledge into a scenario where it really matters.
Good stuff, Super.
I also have zero problem with Goku allowing this happen. Goku likes a challenge more than anything else, regards of the unfortunate implication that may happen as result of his behaviour. It's why he let Vegeta escape in the Saiyan arc, why he let Freeza power up to 100% during their fight on Namek, why he let the Androids be activated, why he gave Cell a senzu before he fought Gohan and why he turn down using he Potara to easily defeat Kid Boo. Goku may be pragmatic in a few scenarios, but he's a martial artist first and foremost. And he wants to get the most of his opponents so that he can find new ways of becoming stronger as well as enjoy the thrill of a great battle.
Oh, and I don't think Kale will get a new form. We already jumped the gun on Goku teaching Kale and Caulifla the fusion dance, so I'm not gonna hold me breath on Kale getting another Super Saiyan form. But it could happen. We'll just have to wait and see.

Dont forget Helles and Kakunza helping Brianne to powerup.Big Black Saiyan wrote:It's probably not against the rules to use Potara? Goku got outside help for his Genki Dama.
I expect Freeza witnessing the whole fight, hiding behind rocks. The moment Kalefla defuses, he will attack them(I expect him to go for Kale first because he will witness again her overwhelming strength, which makes her a bigger threat than Caulifla).namekiansaiyan wrote:

But didnt she already have control over that? Cauli even told Goku after they got out of the barrier that Kale could control it now, unless Toei forgot that they already had her do that.Jigurashi wrote: I assume it's her "Berserker form" that she is going to use and has control over. In my opinion I think Goku regaining enough energy to jump into SSJG and above in less than 10mints is a little too fast... but this is Super we're talkin about (he even said in the prev that he'll show them SSJ3, mind you I find that decision stupid af even from Goku), wouldnt be surprised if he's already back to full power despite getting bodied by those robots just a few secs ago and now Cauli on his ass, he really didnt get enough time to actually rest.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Nope. Kale simply powered down her abilities to a level that was controllable, the spoilers seem to imply that she's learning to control the full on Beserker stateSansrivaaL wrote:But didnt she already have control over that? Hopefully once they're done sparring with Goku they'll take notice of Frieza and wipe him out to repay what he did to Cabba.
