Goku maintained composure? He was paralyzed by the scream just like Shin and the other Kaioshins were. Only one not affected were the Angels and Zeno, wouldn't call that maintaining composure. Also imo their has not been any clear evidence that supports the claim that Goku could beat Sidra, let alone any other GoD.Dragon Wukong wrote:I do think they're differentiating from deities, (Kais, Supreme Kais) and GODS (the GoD's).
I'd say there's still at least a 20-15% difference between Goku and Beerus, (who seems to be at least in the top 3 most powerful GoDs,) which would at least be enough for Goku to put up some defense against a GoD, and therefore have a fight at the level of one, but still end up losing. Though honestly, am I the only one who gets a vibe that Goku or Vegeta could probably beat Sidra?
Like, sure Goku couldn't keep up with the fight, but it was TWELVE GoD's doing a free-for-all and not even Zeno could keep track. And Goku maintained composure from hearing Rumsshi's roar.

With the battle royale, I just feel that Toei Animation got lazy and decided to have Kale destroy the battle stage so there could be rocks everywhere. I don’t like that Toei just has rocks and explosions in the backgrounds because it doesn’t feel like a battle royale. It seems that no one is intervening and the focus of the episodes are all in one place even though they’re moving around.
I feel like Toyotarou will do a much better job at this and it has shown in the battle royale with the Hakaishin. You have the sense of someone getting attacked from various directions. So far, Toyotarou is doing much better than Toei this arc.

By "maintained composure" I mean he effectively handled the roar as well as the GoDs did. All the Supreme Kais were knocked out, but all the GoDs were paralyzed as much as Goku was. I base the Sidra thing off the fact Frieza could effectively disarm his attack in the anime. It's not evidence, but I "kinda get the vibe" that Goku could fight Sidra and win. I'd rather not debate that since I'm not stating it as a fact but my own opinion with too little evidence to TRULY base anything on.Ilikepictures-meh wrote:Goku maintained composure? Since there's a fair number of people complaining about Kale & Caulifla in the anime, what's the chances of Toyotaro portraying them in a way that attracts those people?
Feels over Reals.

Doubt there will be any difference in their characters. Cause Toyotaro receives info from the anime too.RedHeat wrote:Since there's a fair number of people complaining about Kale & Caulifla in the anime, what's the chances of Toyotaro portraying them in a way that attracts those people?

The more I think about it I don't think its who they are but how they been handled. The pacing of the anime / time until the tournament began could have botched their presentation with how quickly they transformed while they could have done it differently in a way that could have been accepted by the fans such as maybe during the tournament. We get that Caulifla is supposed to be gifted according to her brother but the reaction to her jump to SSJ2 for example compared to Cabba achieving it says a lot. I mean, its more than "back tingles" and I understand it sounds silly but Cabba was just describing how he feels right before transforming after he got used to it for awhile, its not like its what mainly caused him to transform. But for Caulifla it was just that.RedHeat wrote:Since there's a fair number of people complaining about Kale & Caulifla in the anime, what's the chances of Toyotaro portraying them in a way that attracts those people?
Kale is fine, a lot of what I read about her isn't any different to what I read upon people's initial reaction toward Shinji in Evangelion or characters relating that aren't as up beat and confident. You can't change that no matter what until you make them do something that breaks their complexes such as when Shinji was trying to save Rei in 2.0 and everyone liked that, even if it meant third impact. This is why I love Kale having her Broly-esque transformation because it goes well with how she used to feel about herself - inferior, nuisance - and when she learned to control her power she became more confident which I liked a lot. My only problem is I wish it was explored and executed differently such as maybe seeing Caulifla ganged up and beaten on in the tournament but that is me personally.
At the end of the day, I just want Toyotaro not pull an episode 100
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
As far as personality goes, the delivery of lines is of paramount importance to me, and with manga I can read the tone as I like. That might make me like Kale's more; right now I only like her when played off Caulifla. I think Toyotaro might draw her better too.

Definitely enjoying the manga. I look at the show and the books as two halves to the same coin. Same story with each bringing something unique and different at the same time. I honestly can't see myself not wanting to continue to indulge in both mediums.

What do you guys think about Goku wearing his Cell/Buu Saga Gi in the manga? I really like it. It's one of those nostalgic touches that Toyotaro like to do that I really appreciate.

What with the Trio De Dangers being an absentee in the manga exhibition matches, I hope this doesn't mean that Gohan will just end up getting stomped by Lavender in the actual tournament. Because in this case no one knows about his poison now.

As far as character personalities go, the only new character Toyotaro wrote better than Toei so far is Belmod. The rest don't stand out.
Using some examples as Hit, Goku Black and Merged Zamasu they are as generic as they can be in the manga, and there's not much that makes them memorable besides Toriyama's plot points.
It's still soon to talk about Toppo but if the last chapter is anything to go by, he's going to be boring too. Without his justice gimmick, something that makes him unique even among the other Pride Troopers in the anime, he's just another normal guy without anything quirky in his personality.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
