I don't know if I would call Caulifla a Mary Sue, I would call her a poorly written character tbh. I would say the same for Kale too. They're both very rushed, and I feel like they put minimal thought into them so they could focus on getting them merchandise materiel.

His flaw is having no personality.

He does have a personality but you don't like it.

I don't think saying "It's over" and "Get lost" whilst flexing counts as having a personality.

I just wished they had never made Kale a female Broly. It feels forced and pointless... Cheap pandering.

Yeah, especially with how they rarely use her Broly mode to begin with. Had it just been her Controlled SS mode and her outfit didn't mirrior Broly's, I wouldn't have had much of a problem. But her whole appeal was intended for Broly fans, but even they despise her character.

Her slim ssj form basically saved Kale from becoming a failure, she is slowly becoming likeable, and I wont mind if she gets to survive Freeza due Caulifla sacrificing herself in the process and then moves on to the Final 10.

Frieza is getting both Kale and Caulifla and many of us can't wait to see him finish them.

He is at least getting rid of one of them, Kale has the highest chance of surviving because her main action figure was in the same group as Goku,Jiren,Vegeta,Gohan,Freeza. Although of course there is 50 50 chance the Namekians are also the last ones standing from U6, but dont be surprised if they are gone in episode 114 or 115 because Toppo vs Vegeta could happen in episode 116.

Then Piccolo and Gohan vs Saonel and Pilina can happen in episode 117. I think this battle and Toppo vs Vegeta will go on for a long time as they seem like final boss fights for Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan as when you think about it there is not really anyone else left.

Goku's final boss is Jiren and that is why his sub boss battle is happening now.

Kale and Caulifla fusing is a sign that it is the end for them soon. The next episode seems 100% focused on Goku vs Kale and Caulifla and I wont be surprised if episde 115 is as well.

Episodes 114 is so going to end with the Birth of Kalefla, like how episode 64 ended with Merged Zamasu being born, I mean even the episode titles look similar, and episode 115 is when Goku vs Kalefla full fight will happen.

My crackpot conspiracy theory is that he's actually a mannequin being controlled by Belmod. It totally explains everything. The bland looks, the lackluster personality, only fighting when ordered by Belmod... all questions are answered!

I hope your theory is true; I find Belmod a way more interesting antagonist than Jiren. It would be interesting to see if once it was revealed if it would be considered cheating.

Besides the so called Birth of Zamasu episode had B plot stuff like Bulma distracting Mirai Zamasu(despite being stupid) so I expect Episode 114 not fully being dedicated on the Girls and Goku.

I hope your theory is true; I find Belmod a way more interesting antagonist than Jiren.

I'm curious about him too, especially how in the chapter where he pretended to be down for the count after the GoD brawl when he was completely unharmed and refused being healed by his angel, whereas every other GoD did.

When it comes to anime fans that I know at least, they use the words sue/stu when its a self insert wish fulfillment character, you dont need to be literally perfect in every way to be one, Tatsuya,Kirito,Kira Yamato,Medaka etc are the most popularly considered stu and sue of the anime world but they're not exactly perfect, Tatsuya doesnt have any emotions, similar to Jiren besides protecting his sister, Kira Yamato's an emo cry baby, Kirito sucks at interacting with people and most of all they dont win all their fights (at least from what I know) but the thing is when you see them you get the feeling of "I wish I was this character" type of thing because of how they handle things and how they evolve, and how other characters treat them, Kirito adapts fast even at a game he's new to and intelligent when it comes to softwares and such, Tatsuya barely shows off emotion when he's killing he's cool,calm and OP (due to some events), Kira Yamato is a monster when it comes to handling his gundam to the point of almost no one even able to touch him (tho he has lost a battle but that was due to some circumstances)
I wouldnt call Jiren a stu because we havent seen him that much yet, he was an already OP character and we have no BG of him.
Cauli on the other hand is evolving faster than any of the pure blooded saiyans we've seen, its not like they're that different seeing as Cabba needed rage to also get to step 2, but Cauli skipped all that with some tingly sensation on her back, Cauli's like a game character where she evolves fast because she's the character you're playing, a self insert wish fulfillment character, hence why I see her as borderline mary sue, but I can relate to those that refer to her as a total mary sue, she's not that far away from it.

Jiren does have personality traits, all two of them. His arrogant and belittling.

Being stoic and calm are also personality traits.

So it isn't that Jiren doesn't have personality. He just has a very stiff one even compared to other stoic characters like Hit.

No, I'd rather say they're doing the opposite: Leaving those open in an attempt to not annoy viewers while they're focusing on the Kafla stuff. ("Other fights are happening too, guys, please just be patient!") Toei has nothing to gain from annoying the viewerbase.

Caulifla and Kale are well liked among the Japanese fans, so no, I'm pretty sure annoying anyone is not their intention. Building suspense maybe, but this fight isn't mean to be an appetizer; it's a big deal for the arc. I get that a lot of people here are not invested at all in this fight, but then again, the majority probablyeople are.
